What’s with this comment section? This car is beating out the GR Corolla, WRX and Golf R on the track and is a much more engaging driving experience. The hate makes no sense and it’s unnecessary.
TFL comment sections are always trashed, everything is garbage, everything is too expensive, this presenter is bad and out of touch with reality. I really don't know why they even have comments enabled, nothing good has ever come from tfl comment section.
People always find reasons to hate, bet half of them drive shit boxes
Because Korean cars are trash.
Because for whatever reason it's super edgy to act like this is still Hyundai from 20 years ago. It's like hating creed or Nickelback because it's safe and encouraged to.
Because they are punching air while the N leaves them in the dust
You don't have to like it, but it's one of the few manual enthusiast. Cars left and when it's gone, you will miss it.
Yes. The Elantra N & the Caddy CT5-V Black wing are the only two that support the manual tranny as standard.
The Elantra N & the Caddy CT5-V Blackwings are the ONLY performance sedans built today with a manual 6 speed standard. The CT5 will cost 3-4 times more than the Elantra N, but a manual can no longer be found even in a Shelby. Instead, they give you automatic with the Lincoln styled electronic rotating knob like it's a luxury car LoL!
@@bruschmidt9943 well autos are easier to program and trick past emissions and they shift faster witch is what spec nerds, people on the internet and the braggers who buy them new want I'll take a car that does 7 seconds to 60 with a manual over a auto that does it in 3 more interaction the better
I’m getting mine in the proformance blue in a couple weeks! I can’t wait!
What state are you in, and how do you know?
I ordered one in Cyber Grey, but my dealer still doesn't have a delivery date yet here on the East Coast
I got mine in 4 months.
@Mjl777l ok, thanks. 3 more months to go then, maybe.
Hopefully, sooner.
What state are you in? Are you USA or Canada?
Just a heads up, a bought a 23 and it left me stranded multiple times, then I lost a ton selling it. My loss is your gain tho, stay away
@@ea1580 how did it leave you stranded?
The fact that you can individually adjust The aggressivity level of the engine, trans, steering, dampers, exhaust, LSD, ESC, is incredible. Considering that type of versatility is generally reserved for super sedans and coupes costing more than twice as much, like the new M cars, V cars, AMG's, RS's etc.
And even though we're not getting a high-end German interior, and there are a lot of hard plastics, the touch points that we interact with constantly are very nice, especially those beautiful racing seats, that nice leather wrapped steering wheel, the grippy aluminum pedals, and shifter.
The graphics of The tach and Speedo are great, and the infotainment is a breeze to use.
Super easy to get to the screen that allows you to individually adjust all the items I mentioned.
Obviously I don't need to discuss how incredibly fun the car is to drive, the balance, weight distribution, beautiful 8-speed wet dual clutch trans, giving you a 5-second to 60 time in a FWD car.
It's obvious that a German engineer built this car from the ground up.
What more could you want from performance oriented car that only costs roughly $35K.
In today's insanely inflated market, there's nothing that even approaches this vehicle's versatility, performance, practicality and fun (for that price).
Now that my MK7 Golf R which I've had since 2015 (with FBO and APR stage 2, and tons of cosmetic upgrades) was stolen and then totaled by the thief in a drunken stuper, I need to find something new.
Problem is, in 2015 my new MK7 Golf R was only 38K (out the door was about 40K) But today, the MK-8 golf R has an MSRP about 47k, Not to mention dealer markups, etc etc, it's unlikely you'll leave the dealer without dropping at least $55K.
So I'm not FKN with that.
This seems like the only option for me. Unless I maybe go for the 2025 K5 GT.
Sure it doesn't have the trick diff, or a lot of the high-end performance oriented suspension and steering components.
But it looks great, especially in Wolf Gray with the blacked out panoramic roof.
It does have a little more power and torque than the EN, and does come equipped with that same 8-speed wet dual clutch trans. Interior is very nice and looks better from the outside compared to the EN as well.
I guess I'll have to drive them both if that's even a possibility.
This was a very long post. I doubt anyone will read it.
Or I just might go ahead and get an OG M2 lol even though the cost of possible repairs and maintenance terrifies me.
bro good luck with the new car. Been a fan of these since they came out. I put a deposit down on the only 8 speed within 2 hours from me. It’s black, not first choice, but anything except red haha. Can’t wait till it gets delivered.
@@Michael-hx6ls agreed... Anything but red lol. I actually like black, it doesn't show as much of the details, but on the other hand, it's very mean! Either way you're going to have a blast every time you take that little hooligan out 👍
@@Daveyboy_GolfRget the EN. It's a crazy experience. If you're actually capable of driving the car properly you'll be pleased to see it's the most oversteering fwd car of all time. The lift off oversteer and rear end rotation is insane. Genuinely a drifty fwd car, the civic type r is an understeering boring car by comparison. It's actually insane. More fun than awd imo, but you do lose out on the hard launches
@@shamalabadingdong It's not so much the launching of the golf R that I'm going to miss, so much as the way I could mash the pedal in the lowest gear at the highest RPM and the car wouldn't just not wheel hop, but never even had an ounce of wheel spin (Even though it was a front wheel drive biased AWD system). Even with my stage 2 plus APR tune putting over 360 to the wheels, I could just mash the pedal in first while rolling and the car would just fly forward without any drama, no wheel spin, etc.
My previous car was a MK6 GTI which was also stage 2 APR tuned, and if I would try to mash the pedal (even in 3rd) It wouldn't be pretty.
Generally I understand that FWD cars with high horsepower will inevitably have torque steer to some extent, and not the easiest time putting the power down off launch, or even rolling in 1st. But I know with the trick diff and all the great performance tech at the EN has, they've mitigated those issues to a certain extent.
Anyway I'm sure once I drive the car for a little while, I'll forget all about my golf R.
Thanks for the reply!
Read it and I usually hate long comments, but you actually made very valid thoughtful points. 👍🏻
I'd love to see pro-driver Paul back on the channel, because I think he'd be someone who can tell us "how much better" this car is with engine mounts, poly suspension bushings, steering rack adjustments, etc.
Yes!!!!!! Excellent idea!
I have the 2021 Version when the N first came out, I love it!!
I absolutely love mine with thr 6 speed! The updated styling seems a bit better. Is it just me or is the 24 quieter than the earlier years? It is definitely quieter than the VN.
I own a pre face lift and i was wondering, is there some kind of update to get the red ring around the N tachometer? it looks nice.
In some ways these remind me of the old Neon SRT-4s. These have way more creature comforts but the idea is similar - Cheap (in todays environment) and punches way about its price in terms of performance.
Yeah but you can never find these.
I 100% had that same thought when I got my Elantra N. I test drive a new SRT-4 almost 20 years ago and it definitely reminds me of it in so many ways.
@FDNY101202 what? There's already a handful of 24s for sale around me in Virginia for msrp
@@vjdfl5 I spent a year looking for them around me to no avail.
@@FDNY101202that’s because they just came out and got released here in the states a month or so ago LOL.
would you say you run the risk of early adopters problems for such a refresh?
When are these going to be available for pre-order? The website says, "Early 2024" What's early?! I want one!!
I am in love with this car, Elantra N is a surprise in Hyundai, the design is unbelievable gorgeous and the handling and driving experience looks so slick and smooth. It has the swag look and performance close enough to a sports car on a budget and its best suited for daily driving without the headache you can get from sports cars
I test drove two different used 2023's. One was an automatic - I put about 60 miles or so on it in a little over an hour. The second one was a manual and I put 145 miles on it in about 5 hours. I drove both of them hard, but the manual one was balls to the walls the whole time and I got about 10mpg (used a full tank of gas in the 145 miles) lmfao. Both of them were quite a bit of fun for what they are. I'd think about buying one.
Someone let you test drive a car for 5 hours?
@@ragweedmakesmesneeze Hyundai lent me a Elantra N manual overnight! Subaru lent me a WRX from Saturday morning to Monday morning. I had the best time comparing the Elantra N and wRX
@@jonttran1092 Awesome opportunity! I sat in a WRX recently and thought the Recaro seats were super comfy. Better than the BRZ's for example. However, pedal box on both Subies were just a little off for good heel-toe action, IMO. Pedals weren't close enough for the blipping the throttle with the side of my foot, but also not enough room on the right side of the gas pedal for the full heel swing out technique either. How's the pedal placement/box on the Elantra N?
A dark color will hide that line between the hood and wing.
Do they come with stick shift variant?
Yes, as the guy said, "They come with a manual standard" at the beginning before the drive.
Nice car, cool features, I think I’ll buy one
Just a heads up, my 23 left me stranded 3 times and I sold it for quite a bit less than what I got it for as they don’t even hold their value, best of luck
It’s a shame it wasn’t octane learned for this review. Your psi should hit at least 18, never saw it hit that. Makes a good difference
Thanks I think I am going to buy one.
Just picked one up, what a blast to drive
I just sold my 23 after it left me stranded 3 times. I felt embarrassed as old dodges were driving by me still working, I wish I could have warned you sooner but the damage is done 😢
@ea1580 every car has its issues and some are lemons, that's just the nature of it. But with a 10 year warranty and no plan to void that, I'm really not concerned. It's just a daily driver and its doing well at that so far
@@ea1580 you’re hilarious coming on here saying all this, I had my Veloster N for 3 years and had no issues besides the horn going out. The N cars are the most reliable cars Hyundai has made. How do I know? I’ve been working as Hyundai technician longer than the Ns have even been out. I feel like your car was a lemon, or it was mostly user error 🤭

I understand that you guys have to use the background music for some of the other car reviews, but Nathan does not need background music. His reviews speak for themselves.
I'm looking for a new car atm. Currently it's between this, the crown, or the azera 2024. Can't pick between fun, efficiency or comfort 😂
love my 23!
Hyundai absolutely nailed it!!!!! Amd I love the price!!!
no 4k video in 2024?
I find the revised styling to be an improvement. I am torn between the Elantra N and a Camry TRD at this price point. The inherent reliability of the naturally aspirated and smooth v6 plus the bigger size for the kids and stuff of the Camry vs the overall better performance and mainly the lsd of the Elantra. My current car is an '18 Elantra Sport and I love it. I still think the front end design of the 2017-2019 Elantra was the best one. I'm glad the GR Corolla does not come with an auto transmission because then I would try cross-shopping that as well, and it is way too small for my station in life.
Two completely different cars. If you want a car for kids then get the camry. It’s no where near the level of the Elantra N though. Elantra N is more aggressive, faster, and fun to drive.
Get the Camry it is far superior to this Korean pile of trash
@@eugene44569This is something someone only says when they have no idea what they’re talking about
I had an Accord Sport 2.0T, which is a direct competitor with the Camry TRD, and I can tell you the Elantra N makes those cars seem very boring. If you want a car that legitimately feels fast and handles like it’s on rails, there’s no comparison. And then if you want it to be quiet and comfortable you just switch modes.
Elantra N all the way Toyota flopped with the Camry trd it looks good and sounds good but it’s pretty slow and won’t handle nearly as good theirs Veloster N’s out their with over 180,000 miles they’re pretty reliable other than the hpfp.
Hello guys I work at Hyundai of Corona and we have a white one coming in in the next month or so
Savagegeese did a track test with this car. Same track, same tire, same racecar driver. Without being octane learned, the manual (slower), and the profile width only being 245 compared to the CTRs 265...it was only 0.1s slower on track. Change any of those variables and it would have been the fastest of the comparison.
I think your reviews seem to lack some structure. I think you should be less sporadic and construct your reviews with a more linear presentation. I’d also suggest getting a head-mounted go-pro rather than filming using a handheld camera while you drive. Not only is it unsafe, it’s shaky and feels like the review wasn’t well planned.
i can’t wait to buy this car
How did you find the seats. I am a bigger guy and heard the seats are awful
Yeah, the bolsters make it pretty tight for some. I have a friend who is a bigger guy and he loves the seats in his EN so it’s kinda hit or miss it seems
I’ve had a veloster n for 3 years and I’m switching into the 24 EN next month, I’m a bigger guy and i loved the seats. Road tripped it multiple times and it’s genuinely comfortable.
I have the 24 and am a little bigger but everyone has different body shapes. I will say after two weeks the seats are loosening up a bit on the side bolsters. It is very snug for me. 5'8" around 200lbs. Your best bet would be to check it out and sit in it. If you need lumbar support then this is not the best seat. In fact the old Veloster N seat would be better since it has an adjustable lumbar button.
I have the 2023 Elantra N DCT and the seats are great & comfortable after 1 1/2 years of ownership they still look new. great quality. fun car to drive.
I had a 20 Veloster N 6 spd performance pack. Great car except the clear coat flaked off the wheels even after two warranty replacements. Finally gave up. My girlfriend currently has a 22 Elantra N. Great car also but she had the DCT replaced at 11,000 miles. The replacement has been good so far with 21,000 miles.
Hey, I currently have a 2023 Hyundai Elantra N and I was wondering with the replacement with your girlfriends DCT was it because she was hearing noises in her engine while accelerating or even letting the car coast and braking ?
@@RealLifeShytPodcast it had had poor acceleration and wouldn't go over 25 ish. I also made a few slight noises. The dealer replaced the DCT and it's been fine since.
@@RealLifeShytPodcastForgot. It made the noises from take off to say 10 mph. Sounded to me just like a bad cv axle. Nope bad DCT.
Best bang for ur buck .

Cool Car
Great car until the engine decides to start eating oil and it sits at the dealership for months waiting for the engine to be replaced under warranty..
I thought there was gonna be a REAL comparison between the last model and this one Im disappointed.
I’ll still take my Type R simply because I can fit a set of track tires in the hatch and not battle with a rear strut brace. Definitely a 1B option because of the price
The Type R would be my choice, if it wasn't for dealer markups. The R starts at 45k, and dealers have at least 5k markups around me.
you can fit a set in the elantra just fine if you pull down the seats. no need to remove the brace
Bro’s never played Tetris
Type R doesnt play in the same level, but not so far
Nah it’s 10k mark up
Thank you Nathan!! But those tires will not survive a NYC pot hole!!! It's a nice car....I like that it has a manual.....but quality could be an issue
hey TFL .. do you think Sonata N line is better option given the more horsepower it has ?
Why are you leaving a track to drive on the city streets? Triple
Because in the real world we drive on the street 99.9% of the time.
Can we call this the Hyundai Civictra Si N the front looks like the 11th Gen Civic a lil bit just the size of the headlights are chopped a little bit on the Elantra and the front bumper looks better IMO.
I was expecting a MUCH better video given the number of years this channel has been around.

Yup, this is one of the worst professional car reviews I've seen in a while
Hyundai and Kia dealership are back logged with warranty engine replacement.. great value tho! 👍🏼
Hi
As Gr Corolla owner, this is a bad ass car. If i could afford both i would pick up an N. With a Manual of course. DCT is cool and all but not as reliable in my opinion.
10 yr powertrain warranty / 100k mi covers it. And after the recall, DCTs were performing just fine.
The Wet 8spd DCT is fine. It's the dry DCT'S in lower trims that crap out.
my 2023 Elantra N DCT has been perfect for 1 1/2 years. The 8 speed DCT is a wet clutch and awesome the sound of the exhaust beats any 4 cyl turbo today. very reliable at least mine is.
I used to have a 1996 Honda ELANTRA five speed manual transmission we kept that thing for eight years. We needed a bigger car because we was on our second child . I’ll take the civic SI just purchase it manual transmission for 30,000. you’re not gonna see those manual transmission Hyundai around town went to dealerships many times is it all we can’t get the manuals?

Polarizing style to say the least. Too many lines, creases and whatever the designers at Hyundai felt like doing.
