I agree that my experience over the past 18 months of driving my 2023 Elantra N DCT is it is an amazing car. No issues and the sound is the best 2.0 4cyl on the market today. The Depreciation is the one key factors for me trading. The type R holds its value better than any car in this segment. Plus would be a fun car to drive. One thing I’d like to mention as an N owner is that you mentioned how “stiff” the vehicle is In N mode which although true that’s more for track use. Everyone should note that you can customize your N driving experience in the custom settings. There you can change how stiff your suspension is, how much performance goes to the engine, how open the valves for the exhaust are and how stiff the steering can be. Which ultimately can make your N mode experience a lot more comfortable. You can customize a whole lot more but just a side note.
Yep. My Veloster N was absolutely painful in N mode on regular roads, but the handling was absolutely unreal. I'd always do N Custom. Everything set to max, suspension set to normal lol.

@gonzaloaguilar-y6x yes, some know how to drive, and you can not heel toe rev match with a DCT (if you even know what heel toe means 🙃). I picked up the EN 2024, H pattern, in performance blue on August 8th.
As someone who bought the 2024 N (DCT model) this weekend, I have to say it's a complete blast to drive. I had to go 450 miles to find one, and it was absolutely worth it. It has amazing grip and handling even when wet. It accelerates beautifully and I have experienced no turbo lag. The amount of customizing makes it a techie's dream. The shifting of the DCT is extremely good (and a definite step up from the 7spd dry-clutch DCT of the N-Line models, something I can say from experience). The exhaust, acceleration and handling, puts a ten-mile wide grin on your face just like the reviewer; it certainly does for me. I can hear it calling from my garage..."Drive me...Drive me..." Great review @theredline .I agree, I would like wireless CarPlay; I would also like Hyundai to start offering all-weather floormats (I will be buying Kagu 3D ones shortly). I think the new key fobs feel a little cheap compared to the old ones from 2019-2020. I also agree with you on the hatch bit; if the i30N had come to North America at any time since I discovered the N-Line/N series (I own an Elantra GT N-Line as well), it would be in my garage. While I'd love the hatch even more, I still really love this car.
@@ReidsRides777 Thank you! I ended up purchasing a CarLinkKit 5.0 wireless CarPlay/wireless Android Auto dongle for my N which has worked well after setting it up. I am having an OE Hyundai Elantra Limited auto-dimming power mirror with Homelink installed (while I do paint protection and window tinting), since this mirror is available on the Canadian Elantra N but not the US for some reason. It will also allow power taps for my dash cam and radar detector setup. I'm researching catch cans now to do that as well.
It sounds like a nice race car in person. I want to change mine but don't want to lose that sound. I want to hear them in person first. Someone had a cat delete and I honestly thought it just sounded like a Honda at that point lol.
So happy to see Hyundai continue the N trim and with any luck we will also see a Kona N. I love the redesign of the Kona and it should look sick as an N model.
We’ll get an EV Kona N. Hyundai wants to play hard on the EVs because that’s where they can beat the competition. ICE cars struggle to fight off the bad brand rap. Not everyone knows about Albert Bierman.
@@swiftrevenge1878 I love the EN. I have the DCT and could not be happier. It drives so well and the engine notes you hear through the exhaust are music to the ears. I appreciate that Hyundai included all of the extra amenities (blind zone alert, FCA, Bose sound system, etc) with the N trim. Lastly, I did want the Performance Blue option, but the Ultra Red color with the black exterior trim and black wheels looks so good. If you find one, buy it.
you are right its the best bang for the buck you can buy in this segment and I have had my Performance Blue 2023 Elantra N DCT for 1 1/2 years now. I never run across a Performance blue Elantra N and actually only see one every now and then. I was at the Caffeine and Octane car show today and did not even see 1 Elantra N out of thousands of cars there. The Exhaust sound is amazing! It is super fun to drive.
Gosh, the upgraded engine mounts aren’t doing many favors. This ‘24 is wheel hopping as bad as my ‘22 did when I first bought it, until I upgraded it with aftermarket engine mount bushings. It makes a world of difference.
@@n-power-automotive Yep. Compared to my old sedan that was atrocious. I am just about finished run in so will see about doing some testing. I could get the old one to wheel hop easy in the rain but so far it has been OK. Might be the gravel in this video.
My girlfriends 22 Elantra N is a blast but she did have the DCT replaced at 11,000 miles. 27,000 now with no problems. I have a 20 Veloster N and it's been flawless except I had the wheels replaced under warranty because of the clear coat coming off. The only gripe I have is 6th gear is too short. 3100 rpm at 80 mph gets annoying. I'm guessing the Elantra N manual has the same gearing. Just a tip if you'll be doing a lot of highway driving.
@dheeranvinoth6258 I have been waiting for it too. Some other journalists already did theirs a while ago. And I have seen it a few times on the road already. I just like to watch Sofyan's videos because of how he goes well into details and pure excitement.
As a 2023 Elantra N DCT in Performance Blue owner for the past 1 1/2 years I have loved this car all 12,000 miles of ownership. I have had no problems. The Exhaust sound is amazing. was at Caffeine & Octane today and the Rev's turned heads. I made a decision to order a new FL5 2024 Honda Civic Type R in Championship White. I have seen the depreciation of my car of $6000 off MSRP to be too much. Next year It would be worth $25K or 26K where as the Type R holds 90% of its MSRP in the same time. Its hard to justify the extra $13,000 for the Type R but I think i will still have an awesome fun car to drive in the new Type R. The Elantra N is the best bang for the buck! The DCT is great and is faster then the 6 Speed.
The ONLY thing holding me back from buying this when i was buying was the horrific dealership reputation. Maybe someone who owns one can clarify with the personal experiences. Love the car! Ended up with a mk 7.5 gti Autobahn. Love it after 45,000 miles.
@@bighurt3527 Because Mr Hurt, you could have gone to a different dealer. There's no problem around these parts. Are you the problem 🤔, or is it the dealer 🙄
Even though its mpg rated is low, the EN DCT with its 8 gears can net you 35+ in normal/eco cruising 70-80MPH. You'll get around 25 in the city. N mode you'll get around 20 or less. Yup small tank but computer adjusts if you're doing nothing but long drives so next fill up you can see anywhere from 300-340 mile range. Not consistent but very efficient when given the chance.
Here is an owner of a 2022 Elantra N DCT, I attest to your comment, I have been able to get 40.2 MPG on a trip from South Carolina to Dallas Texas and back 36.8 MPG with 358 miles run from Meridian, Mississippi to Helen, Georgia and still had 54 miles to go to South Carolina. It is my daily use and from the city of Easley to Greenville in SC and back I have been able to get from 27 to 31 MPG, after keeping it near 2000 rpm it will give you gas economy. I had a Kia Forte GT also DCT and I got 44.8 MPG on the highway from South Carolina to Michelin Road Atlanta and between cities it was practically similar to the Elantra N so thanks to the Forte GT I learned to get the most out of the DCT.
yes the rear seat is a single fold down. this is not a 60/40 split like on some of the Elantra. There is the rear RED Cross support bars in the back that will limit pass thru of some larger items. But looks cool. The tabs you pull are in the trunk and you have to pull both to drop it. it will automatically lock back in place when you pull it back up.
been saving money for a new car for a long time and was looking for one of these. My local dealer called me and said they had one on the way and I just put down my deposit. I am extremely excited for my first sports car
I am well aware that many Japanese people systematically post malicious comments when Hyundai Motor videos come out. The reason is that they want to continue to have vested interests in the U.S. market and do not want to be taken away by Hyundai Motor.
It may not be a hatchback, but it remains a reasonably flexible car with excellent performance. Yes, I would buy it... But I am thinking about the stories about the dealer network... yikes... That is too bad because it would be a sensible purchase. I don't mind the plasticky interior. It is not an M-B or a BMW. Its goal is to put a smile on your face with plenty of fun driving. An excellent review. Period.
My local Hyundai dealership has actually been pretty good to me. I leased my last 2 cars there and they are still my 1st choice for my next car next year. The Elantra N is on my list although not at the top...
It was my favorite car to own. I loved the thing. The looks. The fun. The price. But, some kid smashed into it and I ended up with a WRX. Doesn't hold a candle to the N. Just a little better in bad weather.
The fact that these put out a 0-60 in 4.8 seconds practically rivaling the stinger GT. Which were 50k brand new compared to these at 35k. This has to be the cheapest most powerful stock car ever made or atleast extremely close...
Definitely my top 3 (non luxury) cars. There is so much value. I wished the interior had more colors and contrasting, though. If i ever can, this would be hands dlwn the first pick of a second vehicle (being that SUVs are my priority).
Absolutely love the redesign, but that blue is not for me. It's too dark and mutes the flat and gloss black accents imo. Definitely considering this for my next daily!
I think this facelift was a deal maker for me. Before it was too weird for me to like, but now this is very likable. Cleaner lines for sure! My gf wants one so bad 😂
@@JonesyTheFirst69 i love the ITS! I get compliments on a daily basis from people who know what it is and also those that don’t. The exhaust note is so good, it’s what sold me. Most fun, best sounding exhaust, handles great. What is making me change is the depreciation of mine is at $6000 off MSRP already and dropping. The Type R retains 90% of its MSRP for years. The Type R and your car are similar is this right? glad you are happy with the Acura.
My 22 Forte GT was totaled, If these wasn't so much I would LOVE to buy one of these. Kia/Hyundai make great bang for buck performance sedans. Thinking about the K5 GT.
We had the opportunity to reserve the new EN but decided we didn't want to wait. We bought a used Intense Blue EN instead. Supposedly one of the differences is adaptive cruise control, but that was when rumors were around - wondering if that is truly the case? The pre-facelift version allows the rear seat to drop - did the remove the feature? I see the switch in the trunk for it. Would be odd they had it but removed it. Another difference is the door handles are now body colored instead of black. Not sure which I prefer. And as far as the updated front fascia, I actually prefer the older one as it looks more aggressive and unique in my eye. I'm not a huge fan of the new key fob - much prefer the previous version we got since it looks more classy and compact to me. Our version (DCT) does have remote start capability, so I'd imagine that will carry over to the new one. One thing to note is the N buttons on the steering wheel can be pretty extensively customized - you can make them put your car in N mode, swap between N and N-custom, start a lap timer, etc. And lastly, I'm a bit surprised about the fuel economy drop. I don't see how when it's the same engine with seemingly the same transmission. Our car will get around 33mpg on interstate driving. If the new car can't do that, I wonder why. And I'm yet again glad we snatched up a pre-facelift version when we did. As always, love your content - I've been subscribed for a while now and have no intent to change that.
My boy racer days are over excuse the pun, but I really like the specs on this Elantra-N. I thought this mid-cycle refresh where they lowered the front end a bit too much for my taste, but the design is growing on me. Rest of the car looks great, the beautiful wheel design, the side profile and the rear end with that impressive spoiler I like a lot. Interior looks great luv those sport seats with the lighted N-logo, the twin digital 10.25 in. displays really nice. But this car was built for performance and all the reviews of it are great. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as what the N-Division within Hyundai can produce. They’ve shown with this car as well as the Kona-N and the Ioniq-5 N which has 641 hp at its top end, that they can build performance vehicles rivaling those from other brands.
the rear seat has always been one of the lone sore spots in this car. A center armrest, padded door armrests and rear vents would really make this killer.
yep 100% agree, in my 2023 Elantra N there is no rear cup holders and no center arm rest, but you do get nice seats in the same material as the front. also no USB or USB-c plugs in 2023 or AC Vents.
@@klasseact6663I wanted an ecotronic grey but since it's not coming to the US I think I'll go for the red one. I like the contrast of red with black wheels and the fact that the lower trim comes in like a grayish silver trim instead of red.

You rideshare your Elantra N? I bet your customers love riding in it. Your the first person I have heard doing this with there N and actually people would ask for you to go for a ride and when they get there they have a smile on there face lol

Looked at one of these. But went with a GR Corolla cause I prefer AWD. The 2024 looks great though! Also the new wheels are a game changer for me when looking at this from the side. I hated the old wheels
To me this is a deal, 10k cheaper then its competitors, faster than a type r and sounds better. Can’t go wrong with this. I know it’s a Elantra but with warrenty nothing to worry about.
As someone who owned a 2023 EN manual transmission for a year: Hyundai should have included a sunroof for the MT. The 2024 “refresh” body design is a downgrade compared to my performance blue EN, especially the blacked out wheel compared to the previous gen chrome finish. Overall, a fantastic car that is very tail happy in the rain for a front-wheel drive car.
They need to put this magic in the Genesis lineup on the G70, wish the exhaust on my G70 which has a 3.3liter twin turbo V6 sounded half as good as that
I’ve test driven the pre facelift DCT Elantra N (I30 sedan N in Australia). We get heated and cooled seats in Australia. You really can’t beat the Elantra N especially considering it’s $15-20k cheaper.
Yes you get more features in Australia. I am trading in my 2023 Elantra N DCT for a 2024 Honda Civic Type R when it comes in. But at $13,000 USD difference MSRP the depreciation value difference if unbelievable. My Elantra N with 12K miles has dropped $6000 off MSRP in value already. This is in the USA market
Also real high performance brakes Stronger chassis so hyundai can remove braces in the trunk Smarter Octane Learning that doesn’t go away when turning off the engine Wider tires You keep adding all those little things and you will end up closer to CTR pricing
I would say the Type R or maybe the Type S not sure on the Golf R. These vehicle will hold there value in the resale market better. The Type R is a numbered car so only so many built. I own a 2023 Elantra N DCT and already lost $6000 equity and my car has 12K miles. Great car, best bang for the buck, great exhaust, best value but just do not hold the value of others. I have ordered a 2024 Type R and trading in my Elantra N.
The fact that DCT take rate is 75% means people still prefer automatic transmission, I’m sure if Civic Type R offers 10 speed auto, most people would buy it instead of manual.
No, majority that drive a Type R, are happy it only comes in manual. It's much more engaging. But I'm also one who hates automatics. Everytime I travel for work and jump into a rental upon arrival at the airport, I get the occasional habit of searching for the clutch, forgetting I'm in an automatic.

There’s rumors that GR Corolla could offer the new performance 8 speed auto they introduced to the GR Yaris overseas (the Lexus LBX Morizo RR also shares the same transmission). It’s getting positive reviews and gives the auto version a quicker 0-60 time (but that’s no surprise).
I have a 2023 Elantra N DCT and its your lower engine mount that is the issue. The one it comes with is much smaller. You can eliminate it by getting a EM3 Polyurethane lower engine mount. I have have had up to 350 HP in my Elantra N when i had all the mods on it and no wheel hop. #1 mod Elantra N owners do and makes the big difference. the EM3 cost around $249.00 and simple install replace.
That facelift is sorely needed. Lighter wheels and new fascia? Yes please. Though I'm concerned about the 3mpg drop in the highway MPG. Why did that happen? 30mpg highway is pretty bad as is.
It does not have adaptive cruise control on my 2023 but they come with the Smart Sense safety from Hyundai which is the other lane keeping etc, blind spot rear cross traffic etc. If it has the Adaptive cruise look on the front of the car for what we all the BRICK, a square piece that will be your radar. I do not believe the 2024 has the adaptive.
On my 2023 Elantra N DCT I drove it in N mode 90% time and got around 14 to 15 miles per gallon on Premium fuel only. I have only fun Premium fuel in it and Amsoil in it. I do not use the free oil you get from Hyundai in this performance car. But the car in the ECO mode or normal mode would get 35 miles per gallon on the highway i believe on a trip.
I have a 2023 Elantra N DCT in Performance Blue. You should not pay any money over MSRP for the Elantra N. The market has flipped the past few months and No one is paying over MSRP for anything. We have the IONIC 5 N which has 641 HP electric vehicle (which is truly a limited production vehicle) that they are trying to get 5K over but may end up selling at MSRP. I also agree with you on the hatch bit; if the i30N had come to North America at any time since I discovered the N-Line/N series (I own an Elantra GT N-Line as well), it would be in my garage.
While I'd love the hatch even more, I still really love this car.
Great comments and Congrats on your new N 👍
@@ReidsRides777 Thank you! I ended up purchasing a CarLinkKit 5.0 wireless CarPlay/wireless Android Auto dongle for my N which has worked well after setting it up.
I am having an OE Hyundai Elantra Limited auto-dimming power mirror with Homelink installed (while I do paint protection and window tinting), since this mirror is available on the Canadian Elantra N but not the US for some reason. It will also allow power taps for my dash cam and radar detector setup. I'm researching catch cans now to do that as well.
Congrats! So does the DCT model come with remote engine start on the key fob? Thanks
@@Jokero_YT yes it does have remote start on the key fob. I own a 2023 N DCT 👍

It sounds like a nice race car in person. I want to change mine but don't want to lose that sound. I want to hear them in person first. Someone had a cat delete and I honestly thought it just sounded like a Honda at that point lol.
The exhaust is excellent on these. Awesome for a stock setup on a not expensive car brand.

How is it so far? Did you get the MT or DCT?
@@swiftrevenge1878 I love the EN. I have the DCT and could not be happier. It drives so well and the engine notes you hear through the exhaust are music to the ears. I appreciate that Hyundai included all of the extra amenities (blind zone alert, FCA, Bose sound system, etc) with the N trim. Lastly, I did want the Performance Blue option, but the Ultra Red color with the black exterior trim and black wheels looks so good. If you find one, buy it.
i got a 2021 VN, it's a such a good daily driver, gets off from the stop very well, just the kind of power I needed
This car is a modern-day version SRT-4 Neon exhaust sounds cheaper than a competition and have some fun this car came out I have seen about three.
you are right its the best bang for the buck you can buy in this segment and I have had my Performance Blue 2023 Elantra N DCT for 1 1/2 years now.
That's the price you pay for having all that power to the front wheels. Is the same thing with the Type R.
I don't understand why though. I haven't got nearly this level of wheel hop compared to my '22.
@@jpizel1070 it doesn’t have to be though. They just still sacrificed traction for less NVH.
@@andywiththen yours doesn’t wheel hop as bad with the OEM engine mount/bushings?
When are you reviewing the Sonata N line, waiting for it.
Hopefully soon! Hyundai should be sending us the refreshed model to review asap. Stay tuned!
@dheeranvinoth6258 I have been waiting for it too. Some other journalists already did theirs a while ago. And I have seen it a few times on the road already. I just like to watch Sofyan's videos because of how he goes well into details and pure excitement.

Your welcome 👍
As a type R owner im a fan of this car! You are definitely getting a lot for how much you are paying. Ill take this over a civic si, wrx and new gti
That's kinda bogus my man
How so?

Got to love the slow walk in the intro
The rear seats DO fold down. Look at 8:07. The release tabs are in the trunk. They've never been inside the car.
yes the rear seat is a single fold down. this is not a 60/40 split like on some of the Elantra. There is the rear RED Cross support bars in the back that will limit pass thru of some larger items. But looks cool. The tabs you pull are in the trunk and you have to pull both to drop it. it will automatically lock back in place when you pull it back up.

I am well aware that many Japanese people systematically post malicious comments when Hyundai Motor videos come out. The reason is that they want to continue to have vested interests in the U.S. market and do not want to be taken away by Hyundai Motor.
Tell them not to touch your boats. 😂
I wish the exterior design was different, then I would consider it. The mechanics and interior are fine.
Period.
Dealer sucked but from what I hear all dealers suck lol.

Glad you are ok from the wreck and the Subaru is a nice vehicle too. but not as fun as the N
I'll choose the N-line over this just to be in the middle of sport and daily driver, also that exotic green color hits different.
The fact that these put out a 0-60 in 4.8 seconds practically rivaling the stinger GT. Which were 50k brand new compared to these at 35k. This has to be the cheapest most powerful stock car ever made or atleast extremely close...
In this time of price , it's the best choice for performance. But I don't understand why not in Europe🥲
Definitely my top 3 (non luxury) cars. There is so much value. I wished the interior had more colors and contrasting, though. If i ever can, this would be hands dlwn the first pick of a second vehicle (being that SUVs are my priority).
Honestly, the only exterior gripe i have is the red ground effect, but a wrap can take care of that easily
That is true you could wrap the red

The design is so slick, if you are into sports car but on a budget, elantra N will not disappoint, all it needs is a wing spoiler!

Im glad you saved money getting used. New one is being marked up for sure.

Yeah, I wish I’d bring that hatchback version of this car like they have over Europe!
it's missing wide-body fenders, the Civic Type R and Integra Type S have those.
Also real high performance brakes
Stronger chassis so hyundai can remove braces in the trunk
Smarter Octane Learning that doesn’t go away when turning off the engine

Why would you pay $10k more for Type R, Type S, or Golf R? because if you can afford the extra cost, they are faster and looks better?
Mind your own business

26:30 i expected 40 mpg. not 23. :(
Should I be worry about the wheel hop with this car? Does that happens a lot??? Is that why it’s 5.7 sec 0-60? Lack of traction?
A set of powerflex bushings ($115) will totally eliminate the wheel hop.
5.7 is way off. The car magazines say its 4.8
I love these but definitely prefer my KONA N more!
A few mods can mitigate the wheel hop by alot to help it put the power down
Wish this was available in the uk.
That facelift is sorely needed. Lighter wheels and new fascia? Yes please. Though I'm concerned about the 3mpg drop in the highway MPG. Why did that happen? 30mpg highway is pretty bad as is.
Sofy, you tend to forget to mention if cars have commuter friendly standards like lane keeping or adaptive cruise control. Does this car have it? 😊
You tend to forget that Google is free to use.
That’s crazy they dropped the highway MPG. I easily get 35mpg in my 2022 Elantra N DCT in normal mode.
Glad to see you beat the EPA number in yours. The new ratings seem awfully low, even for a performance oriented car like this!
same, i went up to KC and got 38 on the way up and 37 on the way home.
I'll ignore the mpg rating knowing Hyundai been underrating the mileage of their vehicles.
Elantra N or Mustang Ecoboost?
i have the 2022 EN but didnt see any difference on the inside for me to trade it in especially when the stealership was marking it up 6k above msrp
Do not pay over MSRP for one. and the inside is the exact same 99.9% between the 2022 and the 2024 but the good news is its a nice interior and the seats are great.
Do these keep up with M340i?
I would assume the m340i would smoke these because of similar weights but more power on the BMW, but that's just my assumption
@@JonesyTheFirst69 Nope. In a roll it's a lot closer than you'd think. I've seen either one come out on top. EN mid end is lethally quick for a 4 cyl.
Dig races is where the M340i takes it. And the BMW is not a similiar weight at all. 550 to 670 lbs more depending on if it's Xdrive.
If the Mods are good yes it will. But you will have to spend around $3000 like I did to build your mods out from the larger turbo inlet to the air box to the Piggy Back Tune plus more to do it. The BMW have the 6 cylinder turbo. It can get up and go especially those M2. they are a challenge lol you have to have the EM3 Lower engine mount so you have no wheel hop putting down the power. that is a difference maker. you can not have wheel hop.
Don't let a California cop near it
The owners need to put the exhaust in normal mode, but they're too remedial to do that.
You shouldn't have to.. And sometimes a cop sees you before you see them @@JT-fq2bl
If you’re a car person and living in cali rip
@@JT-fq2bl Ive still gotten comments how loud my car is in Normal mode lol.
