"I'm gonna pause it"
Oh don't worry everyone pauses it there
True, I had to so I could grab the tissues
Not me.
@@herrbonk3635 congratulations you're special then.
Haha yep
🤣🤣🤣
Anyone else taken up a new hobby just watching reactions to this song after you discovered it? I’m having a blast doing it. A lot of it’s funny.
I am doing it for 3 years now. Still never gets old somehow. This should have some name.
Years later I'm still doing it. 😂
Yes it’s entertaining watching professionals being shocked
So many people almost sh*tting themselves
It is still a guilty pleasure of mine.
Most common words after the first chorus "Holy Shit", followed by "What the fuck?!".
Never gets old.
And "I was not expecting that."
Tatiana's one take vocal performance of Judgement and Punishment will give you all need to see/hear her real vocal prowess on display
Michael Brooks gonna have to check that out!
@@MichaelMcGlynnProductions JInjer has about 40 very high quality songs over a period of 10 years. Tatiana growls like that in pretty much all of them.
Then check out Beggar's Dance to have your perception of their genre wrecked. Tatiana and Eugene said in an interview that they don't really have a genre.
Yup! ruclips.net/video/Q5rg_63Shqg/видео.html
I didn't think anything could be more mind blowing than Pisces, but Judgement and Punishment live takes it up another notch.
The roving tribes of jinjer fans. Going from reaction channel to reaction channel to watch this reaction
It never gets tiring watching people’s minds explode to this song!!
Him: "Beautiful singing"
Me: _sips tea_
hahaha yup, after watching 100 different reactions to this exact song, you tend to enjoy people's famous last words lol
Watching Jinjer reaction videos has become my new hobby. For this song, you paused at the perfect spots.
One of the few honest "first-time reactions" to Pisces. Thank you for being honest.
Welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole... you will not want to leave it...
JINJER - Who is Gonna Be the One (Live) 🤘🏻
yess that song is a beast ! =D
Enjoyed seeing your reaction, especially because you did focus on the whole band and not just Tatiana's vocals, amazing as they are. I believe there was a bit of vocal layering added but she can do very low growls. A good example of them live is "Who is Gonna be the One". Mostly all of their songs are very complex and I've yet to hear a bad one.
Suzanne Martin thanks so much! She is obviously the real X factor here but the band is absolutely first class! Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Who Is Gonna Be The One Live (the studio recording is actually worse), and Pit Of Consciousness Live in Kiev have probably the nastiest growls she can do.
@@Dark__Thoughts at least of released stuff. Bootlegs of Home Back are harrowing...but since that's a song about being refugees from the war in eastern Ukraine it fits. :(
@@j.f.fisher5318 There's the full unlisted Melbourne show which has a high quality version of Home Back, but I don't want to recommend that for reactions due to possible copyright claims.
The fans' fear that all the honors go to Tatyana and the musicians are underestimated is in vain. Attention to Tatiana goes only at the first listening. Metal lovers always appreciate good music.
welcome to the JINJER ARMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you very much for your professional reaction to one of the best bands ever.
You have just heard 4 world class musicians and I saw Jinjer live at an open air social distancing concert 2 weeks ago in germany.
I myself have been a musician for over 40 years. I can say that Jinjer is a very extraordinary band and Jinjer created their own JINJER STYLE in the last 10 years. This band is one of a kind !!!!!!!!!!
Maybe you can do next:
JINJER - Teacher, Teacher! (Official Video) | Napalm Records
and next:
JINJER - Teacher, Teacher! (Live in Melbourne) | Napalm Records
Many greetings from germany and stay safe!
I LOVE this song and have probably heard it a thousand times by now! and I just love people who love this song as much as I do! Great reaction! If you´re not familiar with the swedish band Opeth ( one of Tatianas major influences ) I recommend you to watch their live concert from the Royal Albert Hall in London! Blackwater Park is a good beginning
Don't listen to the haters. As someone that follows quite a few "reaction" based channels, especially voice coaches and music teachers, the biggest challenge these channels face is getting DMAed. You have to fall under "fair use". And the best way to assure that is to interrupt the song so your video can't be a way to listen to the song. They ALL pause it. ALL, as in 100% of them. They pause it to talk about something that stood out to them, or just to express how they are feeling about it thus far. Just go back 10 seconds after you pause in case you did pause it right at an important transition you can ride into that transition again. Do not let yourself be bullied by your community. You are the expert, people are here to hear your reaction to the performance, if they want to hear/see the performance itself they should be clicking on the artist's official link...which you should also post in your description.
I was speechless too, when i heard them the first time and i want her to be my wife andmother of my kids...
Probably my favorite reaction video. I love that he focused first on the other instruments and then the actual writing of the music before talking about Tatiana. Yes she deserves it, but the rest of the band barely gets mentioned. And they are each amazing in their own right, and the music arrangement is incredible. On everything Jinjer does. That’s why bands like Tool are so incredible. Everyone is a god on their instrument and every song is a masterpiece. No corners cut, experimentation and growth.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for noticing the other members of the band. Tatiana is incredibly talented, but it makes me a little sad that sometimes that causes people to miss the unbelievable talents of the the other members of the band. They are incredible musicians.
Nightwish - Your's is an Empty Hope (Live @ Wembley)
From the RUclips notes on the video: " we went to Istok studio in Kiev, did a live recording and shooting, then added over some extra lines, like a few backing vocals and guitars, then Max from Morton Studio made this new magnificent version of mixing".
Nice you picked up on the drummer. This video was actually filmed to highlight Vlad who was recently added to the band at the time.
R E A L L Y, need to do more Jinjer.
This song is like the doorway to Jinjer, they have a ton of great stuff
From what I understand, that is her 💯. She is self trained which is just amazing. I’ve heard this song dozens of times and I get the same reaction every time.
Welcome to the greatness that is Jinjer!!! My fav band from the past 15 + years. I'm a 54 year old musician. I saw and met them last Fall in Texas. Amazing live band and kind chill folks. Regardless of doing reactions , you need to check their music out. They have 2 EPs and 3 LPs out. All tunes are different and killer! They will release their first live CD from their show in Melbourne from March of this year. Cheers!
Thank you for pointing out the Band's awesomeness not just the Tatiana's voice...
Welcome down the rabbit hole with this band mate. Every song is better than the last and in my opinion they're the best metal band in the world right now. The musicianship is mindblowing.
It always fun to see the initial reaction and the disbelief when she goes back to sweet but my favorite part is the section from the surprise belt to the final growl. People's faces seem to melt at the belt and then when it goes back to growl they usually surrender to the reality that they have no idea as to what is going to happen next but they're finally so broken they've abandoned any preconceived notions, and then it's over. Like they're finally ready to accept what ever happens next and then there's nothing. Pure genius.
Perennial Live at Wacke 2019
No extraprocess except by some tipycally reverb and delay and less than 10 secs of backvoice!
AMAZING sound to be a live gig performance
Please don't worry about pausing the song. We are here for your thoughts and reactions on it and if they are longer ideas i'd rather you pause than talk over the song. if people want to hear the song without pauses they can just watch the original video themselves
I actually appreciate when reacters pause the video to offer insight, especially when it's relevant. But maybe knowing when to pause is a learned skill for the other reacters I've seen. But still a good video.
Unleash The Archers "Awakening" (full band play through video) Napalm records. Another amazing front woman Brittney Slayes and world class musicianship. It's a must!
Came here back again 3 years later...😂❤😂❤😂
Loved your reaction
i saw Jinjer live last year and Tatiana is a beast and owns that stage, the whole show was killer.
Jinjer - teacher, teacher and On the top are AMAZING
Just search Jinjer Live and pick literally any song for the next reaction. They are by far, the best band of the last decade in my opinion. Every live performance is flawless.
Every fucking time I hear this song and she hits that belt at the end my hair stands on end, goose bumps, and a full body shiver comes over me. It's an amazing vocal performance, but it still wouldn't hit the same way without a genuinely amazing song and rock-solid individual performances.
Meshuggah - Bleed. (live drum cam)
Dirty Loops - Work shit out/Rock you/Next to you.
Awesome reaction!!! It's so refreshing to watch a music professional who actually has some idea of exactly how much talent and work are combined into a performance like this! Your pauses were justifiable and not distracting and your outbursts of cussing were totally appropriate and genuine! Cheers!
Thanks so much I really appreciate it 🙏🤟
You're right, it is beautifully shot, and no one ever mentions that because, well, you know why....
Yeah, the videography is way underappreciated for this video! Everything about it is set up to help the shock value of her voice. The colors are very warm with specialty light bulbs scattered low around the set, the depth of field is very shallow, all the instruments are very clean and polished to beautifully reflect the light, and the camera angles are very intimate with lots of headshots. It's completely contradictory to where the song goes, really lulling you into a dream before the impact. It also does a fabulous job of introducing the band members to you, shifting focus between their faces and the instruments that they play. I love the videography done here.
Music Producer of Jinjer metal band is well known Ukraininan producer Max Morton (Pasechnyk). He has absolute hearing, he used multilayering and other stuff...
You got this song locked in brother. Great reaction. Subbed
Listen to the their Macro album, its just AMAZING
What really hooked me to Jinjer was the bass lines. Eugene Kostyuk is really good. His bass riffs really are really cross genre... almost smooth jazz/jazz fusion at times. Nothing like the sort of thing I'd seen in sort of 40 years of being a metal/new wave/electronica (UK-Europe)
Totally. I get the feeling all the players have a jazz background.
Remember that Jinjer describe themselves in interviews not as a metal band, they are including reggae/jazz/blues parts too. So enjoy the ride ..
Haven't watched your other videos, but I would always use the arrow keys to skip back a couple seconds after pausing, to make sure you don't miss any transitions (a lot of people manage to pause right when they happen).
And yes, doubled vocal layers in certain parts to make it sound fuller. During their live shows they use a short delay on her mic to help with her growls too. This is a re-recording of an older song of them, specifically to show off their (at the time) new drummer, because his style made the song sound very differently. The vocalist is Tatiana, Roman on the guitar, Eugene on the bass and Vlad on the drums.
Their high quality live stuff is just lightly produced / polished, but if you want a complete raw experience (minus what is added live) then check out the live in Wacken version of Pisces (I think the info that this one's raw was only on their social media though). Tatiana often plays around vocally when on stage, so it isn't the exact same style as this recording, and it is the second to last song of their spot (Perennial being the last, which I highly recommend too), but you can certainly hear the brutality of her screams and growls.
Official video suggestions:
Teacher, Teacher
Perennial
I Speak Astronomy
Pit Of Consciousness
Judgement & Punishment
Cloud Factory
Retrospection
Sit Stay Roll Over
Live suggestions:
Perennial live at Wacken
Who Is Gonna Be The One live
On The Top live in Kiev
Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev
Judgement & Punishment live in Melbourne
Teacher, Teacher live in Melbourne
It never gets old!!
Pisces was my gateway drug into Jinjer. And I'm also a HUGE Tool fan.
I dunno if you know Nightwish but you'd definitely enjoy them. Start with Ghost Love Score. And ye Tatiana is a master, there is some vocal layering in this song but Tatiana growls like this live as well, she is that amazing.
Love jinjer first reaction!!.. Oh beautiful.. Booojaakaaa. Heavy mattal. 😅 🇺🇦 😎 🤯
“Sit, Stay, Roll Over”, “ Captain Clock”, and “I Speak Astronomy “ should be added to your list as well as all the others mentioned here. Great reaction!
On the Top, Retrospection, the hits keep coming
BTW, Jinjer toured Australia just recently. I saw them in Melbourne on the 5th of May and they were bloody spectacular. They are about to release their first live album, and it’s called...... ALIVE in Melbourne 🤘😎🤘. Yes, I have pre ordered.
Tornado Alive gonna have to check that out! When’s it released?
@@MichaelMcGlynnProductions November 20, 2020 via Napalm Records.
There are some professionally shot vids from the Melbourne show that are pretty great.
The part where all these reactors pause right before the growl .... the calm before the storm. 🖤🤘
I saw an interview with them and they said they did add a smidge of distortion on the vocals, but just a smidge. Also a touch of chorus in places.
No distortion for the vocals. That's her voice.
She did an interview with one of the band members and they said there was no distortion. There are minor things done in the production of records that any band regardless of genre uses, but nothing mechanical/digital to alter her voice. She has sang live and that's her voice.
Yeah, it's really just a compression dump for a bit of distortion.
that drummer is sick beast ... his shades are pure musical geniality
Got turned on to jinjer today. Watched all their stuff. Watched alot of reactions. This is the best reaction.
You have the knowledge for good reactions and your appreciation of Jinjer. P.S. their lyrics are great. Some background mods but she can do what you hear. This is a multi genre band and each song is different.
I've see 30+ reaction of this video, and every time i have goosebumps.
Ya did great with this one, especially by focusing on the band as a whole, fun reaction. Subbed to see more from you. Check out: JiNJER - Judgement (& Punishment) - Tatiana Shmayluk - One Take Vocal Performance. "Teacher, Teacher" is wicked cool and "Perennial" live at Wacken open air fest 2019 is an awesome showing of Tati's vocal range
Thanks so much legend 🤟
Her mic has a doubler or so I'm told. This is a kind of a one off song for them. I recommend "Who is gonna be the One", "Teacher, Teacher", "Perennial", "Scissors", and the one take version of "Judgement and Punishment." Enjoy the DEEP rabbit hole that is Jinjer.
Honestly, pause as often as you need to. I appreciate the technical commentary and analysis. Cool to hear a producer's feedback.
I’m late to your reaction, but I’ve seen a thousand of them. However, I do like seeing people notice the band and not just her. Idk if anyone commented, but this was to showcase their new drummer at the time. This song was on an album with their previous drummer. The doubling you’re hearing is her layered vocal she did when recording the album.
Yes I stay for more jinjer
The entire band is amazing. Jinjer reshot this around 3 years ago when their new drummer, Vlad, came aboard. His drumming added a different feel to the song.
You may particularly want to check out
Jinjer - Judgement and Punishment (Tatiana’s one take vocal).
Mate your reaction is priceless. Your comments mirror my own and only bettered by the brain explosion ive just had again, like you. I dont know how many times I've tried to explain how much I love everything about this performance and more. Its literally has opened my eyes, ears, heart and soul. Tour reaction is bang on, knowledgeable and touched with some great humour. Thank you. A new fan here and I love Jinjer. These reaction videos are helping me whilst in a really shit situation and thank fuck for this and then.
Thank you for reacting to this I was so looking forward to your insight on this one. The band is extremely talented especially the drummer is exceptional. Tatiana's growl's that low and strong the best to hear her is live like Teacher, Teacher & Perennial. they came out with JINJER - Judgement (& Punishment) - Tatiana Shmayluk - One Take Vocal Performance shows her talent in one take that I would say you should take an interest in.
Breedsblood1 thank you so much 🙏🙏
I really enjoyed your reaction. Fun to watch. Thank you! I‘d like to share two things, that make Tatiana’s performance even more remarkable, just because I heard it in an interview the other day.
1. She doesn’t really prepare her recording parts in advance. She calls herself a procrastinator and leaves everything to the last minute, which results in her improvising most of her stuff in the studio. Personally, I find that absolutely incomprehensible, considering the results. Her talent and intuition seem immeasurable.
2. About writing her lyrics, she said, that she used to attempt to write the words onto the music, but never got it right. So she started writing the lyrics without regarding the music at all, focusing on the story first. And then later she figures out in which way she places the words onto the music. Which is probably why nothing sounds the same. Every line and verse has its own dynamic. Some of it even seems quite odd. But in a good way, since it still flows flawlessly. Again, the talent and intuition it takes to make something like that work, is ridiculous. For most people, I‘m sure, this procedure would be a recipe for certain failure.
This band is from another planet. Or maybe even from another time period. So advanced and effortless. It makes you want to quit immediately 😅
You might want to check out Nightwish as well...you'll be blown away as well
I just loved seeing an Australian react to this. Nice to hear the sound of my own people.
Check out Nightwish - Ghost love score live from Wacken 2013. You are gonna love it!
I love watching reactions to this video. I have done some research and found out this was an older song of theirs that they re-released to show off their new drummer.
Aaah yes, the old 'I'm loving it so far, very nice and relaxing'.......me sitting here grinning, just waiting for the pause and mind blow.
Nah mate, ya gotta take it in or you miss it.
.....and hey, it was nice to see an actual real reaction. It is most definitely a composition, you nailed it with that one.
Check out the Jinjer song "Perennial" the live performance.
That one really showcases how much of a vocal titan she is.
love your reaction!!! it's great to see someone who can actually admire amazing drum work, guitar playing, bass lines, and her vocal.
I've seen that first time about year ago and since that I heard that song probably around 1000 times... and every single time I'm blown away...
I'm addicted to that fckn' song 🤘😀🤘
This is the kind of Jinjer reactions I like. Keep it up. 🙂
Love it when somebody actually knows what they are talking about. And recognizes the talent of the whole band and not just Tatiana.
If you want to hear what they sound like live, I would suggest.
jinjer - perennial (live at wacken)
PLEASE! If you choose a Jinjer song's live performance for a reaction, and an official music video of that song exists, PLEASE do it in a double-feature; live + official (or vice versa). Thank you in advance, Michael. Keep up the good work.
As a few others have said Tatiana’s one take on “Judgement and Punishment” is a perfect one to check out.
All of Jinjers videos are great
You paused at the perfect time to start, everyone pauses at the same spot haha!
Yessss! Just a speedbump, barely even a flinch. You genuinely appreciate their musicianship! This is great!
You are the FIRST I've ever heard talk about the vocal doubler. You can hear it when she growls, I can anyway. I hear it every time I watch this video.
I can hear it too but it’s super subtle :)
For what it's worth in my opinion, F what everybody else thinks and you be you because that's what makes you unique. No one can make everybody happy. So you do what makes you happy and the people that appreciate you being you will follow you a lot easier.
Yay. Yay. Yay. Tool fan, here. Jinjer is my favorite find of the more recent years. They're something, right? You will not be disappointed, sophisticated and super satisfying stuff. Enjoyed the reaction, Michael. Hello, Jinjer people.
🙏🤟
Your enthusiasm/thoughts are the point! Anyone caught up on pauses needs to chill and just go back to the original video. That was so much fun.
Fun fact: this version is an update to the original album version. The more complex drum lines in this one really add a lot of life to it. A great example for how details can make a composition.
Just found your channel and you seem like a really cool guy. I loved this video, most people seem to only react to Tatiana's vocals and skip the rest of the band, whereas you gave credit where it was due to them.
Keep up the good work xx
Thanks heaps Kerry 🙏🙏🙏
Another great live play through session video is Unleash the Archers - Awakening. They are also under the Napalm Records label...absolutely amazing group
she does it for real. there is obviously some post processing, mixing, and some double tracking here, the normal for the voice track, but I don't think there are extra effects or lowering the pitch. she does this kind of thing live, she switches from clean to GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR to clean very easily.
I've watched probably every reaction to this song...it truly is a piece of art, and by far one of my favorite songs ever...the story, the flow, the composition, the tiny and nearly negligible fills from the drummer and bassist...on top of one of the most talented female singers over it all...
And I like your reaction the most. It isn't just an open mouth when she screams the first time and goes back to clean vocals and ignore the rest of the song, you see the entire thing as a whole! Love it!!
Watch it Live!
Listen to Whose Gonna be the One Live (8M views). She is brutal live and there is just a little reverb on her voice. There are no enhancements as to change the timbre of her voice.
Great reaction mate. New sub. Seen 100s of these Pisces reactions now and yours is up there with the best. I only got into them in March 2019 and like 1000's of others I'm well and truly hoooked. Pisces is entry level, but it's only scraping the surface of what this foursome can do. I won't recommend anything in particular, but please continue with more Jinjer reactions, everyone else has given great recommends and, basically, everything is worth it. 56 yr old metalhead, and Jinjer is one of the best bands of my life.
Thanks so much mate!!! 🤟🤟
really good reaction, loved your reaction to her vocals. There was an interview with Tatiana (Singer) and Eugene (bass player), Tatiana only uses a slight delay live and nothing else is done to her voice. Shes a beast, she doesn't even warm up lol. With all other reactors they go to Perenial Live at Wacken next
My favorite part of this reaction is when you're really feeling it and put your hand on your chest. When I first heard Jinjer, or any band that gives me the feels, that's how I react too. Absolutely amazing man. This whole band is just MIND BLOWING. I've listened to this song and many of their others SO many times and I still get cold chills and hear new shit I never did the time befre. Amazing reaction!
Not pissing off people on YT is an exercise in futility if ever there was one. Just keep on going. The more you react the more you find a tempo. And if you just go back a little bit after each pause it maintains the performance flow/integrity.
...always love when someone that knows what their talking about react to this band...im subbin....they are from another planet for sure...please check out more of this once in a lifetime band...maybe "whos gonna be the one" live for an amazing stage performance...again great job cuzz...thanks...peace...
you done very well. a lot of reacts oversees how amazing their music is over shier surprise at her vocals. it was great to see someone really appreciate the whole band in their first reaction to it.
fun fact : this is one of the most simple their song. "perennial" live or "teacher teacher" would surprise you ever more.
Thank you 🙏
from what i have seen in videos of them doing recordings, not only they are not pitched down but she belts those growls out not cupping the mic to get the deep growl
The drummer's ghost notes are just smooth as hell. I honestly wish there was a dedicated camera for each musician, they're all incredible.
She uses an extreme level of vocal fry to pull off that voice effect. This is an effect that lots of basses and baritones use to sing an octave lower, but she is taking that to the next level. The smoothness of her transitions back and forth from her clear voice to the deep fry show that she is doing this in a way that she is not damaging her voice, which can be a real problem for this kind of thing.
It's mainly live but with overdubs done in post-production. mainly at the end of each verse.
