I see the vote here is overwhelmingly for the humor. Which is great. Like I said on the show - if Mike and I stop enjoying it, the show's days would be numbered.
At 47 minutes in, I do appreciate your humor. We have to hold on to humor as we face into the lies of the media, the threats of a world stuck in medieval times and bizarre accusations from a younger generation of totalitarians. If you can't laugh, we're left only crying.
Thanks to you both. I really appreciate getting a bit of both cultures, and as an olah with minimal Hebrew, it's great to hear what's happening in the Israeli press. Also, "supporting the algorithm" is catchy.
Just keep reading the news in Hebrew and watching as much TV/Internet videos as you can (for whatever content you like) and talk with people from your language in Hebrew so they can correct you (unless of course, you're from Micronesia, and to that I would say go back home and make sure they vote for Israel....they need you :-) ).
Your conversations are unusually insightful amd informative but I find them quite grim. Your humor makes it easier to listen to information which is disillusioning.
Roger Froikin wrote,"One Hadith claimed that if a man was castrated he would not be admitted at death to Jinnah (Paradise). This could scare some of those Hezbollah guys."
Criticism accepted. I have lost my sense of humour since the initial attack. Feeling under siege 24/7 hasn't been pleasant. I will try to have more of an Israeli attitude. I will continue watch your show and I will force myself to enjoy your brand of humour. 😉 Respect from Sydney. Am Yisrael Chai.
It's okay...as previously stated, some don't want humor because they can't handle it; others because they don't want it touching their pain, and even some just want more intellectual and heady discussions. I prefer humor in most instances because staying serious (or fearful) is a much worse alternative. There are times I want less humor and more analysis, however. But many of humanity's representatives need to lighten up quite a bit (not saying you do), but that's for each person to decide for him/herself.
Thanks. We weren't criticizing you, just defining our roles here. It looks like we are both committed to this thing, whatever it is, for a the long haul, so it is good to clarify what it is. Thank you.

it's a fun "Star Wars" operation. But does it beat "Mad Max"? It was disruptive, but not decisive. It's not going to move the Hezbo forces North of the Litani, nor clean out the Bekka Valley.
@@michaeldoran3568 - indeed. Thank you for your response, Dr. Doran. But if "Star Wars" can only mitigate and if Iran's "Mad Max RIng of Fire" plus nuclear umbrella, can slowly strangle Israel (today the North, tomorrow the West Bank/Judea-Samaria?), how does Israel cut the gordian knot around its throat? A conventional offensive into Lebanon? An offensive into S. Lebanon would require fighting through dozens of hilltop, stone construction mountain towns on windy roads, populated by Hezbo families (not to mention winter mud and clouds approaching). I don't see Kamala supporting that, especially if the IDF uses arty, tank fire and air to reduce IDF casualties (it would be interesting to bring on MG HaCohen and MG Brik to discuss a plausible operational concept for this). Régime change in Tehran?
Everyone asking/hoping “Is it beginning?” 😮 That seemed to be the obvious conclusion. But alas, they only followed up itwith more of the same. 🤨 Like the magician who pulls the rabbit out of his hat, …twice in a row. 😴And tomorrow? Another rabbit? 🙄 Count me among the disappointed. ASIDE - thx for keeping your senses of humor, and your very effective format.
What i want to know is why wasn't Nasrallah wearing his pager? Perhaps he's a Mossad agent. After all, he gave the order for operatives to wear the pagers all the time and yet he wasn't wearing one when it went off. Makes you wonder if he is complicit. If I were a senior Hezbollah official, I would have him marked for suspicion of working against the Lebanese people and Hezbollah.
In Israel, there is indeed a civil war, that has not fully blown yet, clearly, there are two sides: the nomenklatura, which I identify as the elite Ashkenazi Jews (academicians, high bureaucracy, Tsahal high-rank officers, atheist by rule) not fond of being heirs of Judean middle-eastern tribes. They despise and even hate the other side, the underdogs, essentially the mizrahi and religious Jews, proud of their heritage.
I'm not sure I completely agree with all of this, though I do agree with the sentiment of the general observation. Yes, the left has antipathy for the right, and often less-so for Sephardic Jews; however, most of the ashkenazim are clearly not elite, and a large percentage are Dati or Haredi. I've often wondered if this split has been cut by a Haskalah knife and may have been part of the social and defensive politics in Central and Eastern Europe during the Holocaust as well (I'm not a scholar in that area at all). It seems like in Israel it's mostly the secular Israelis that get caught up by the elite to which you refer; in the US, it seems to be the liberals who get caught up in it, much moreso than the conservative Jews. As an aside, I'd love to be a pollster assessing Jewish political and security values relating to Israel at the moment. I'd be curious to know if many long-term Democrats are bailing on the Democratic Party, or if they also don't trust the Republican party because of its history of and simmering anti-semitism.
It’s there now. It wasn’t when last I checked and wrote the comment you responded to.(The one about Steve Hayward citing you on PowerLine ). Thks for tour feedback
Regarding slogans, this sort of reminds me of the story about a bank in the town of Red Bank, New Jersey that bought a bank in Long Branch, New Jersey, 6 miles away, and renamed it “The Long Branch Branch of the Red Bank Bank.” Aside from that, at this very moment, it is highly probably there are left-wing screen writers composing scripts for movies featuring the astonishing events of the past two days. It will be interesting to see the spin they put on these incredible events, plus the assassinations, inferring these were not justified by the unspeakable atrocities of October 7 and the Hamas subsequent war against Israel, using civilians as shields.
