It’s a pain to pop the dust caps off, I end up putting silicon on after due to the arm getting distorted after changing out the ball joints a few times, my complaint is that the replacement ball joint from China doesn’t last long, to put in a moog it requires grinding it to fit, aside from that I love the 4” extra droop I’m getting.
Unfortunately I can’t report on longevity as I ended up moving on to a newer truck. They worked great for the 8-12 months that I ran them. They will work with a 2.1” level.
@@JsGarage thanks for the reply, figured it out this afternoon. I was asking because I juts bought some zone UCA’s for my bronco and was wondering if I needed a special tip for the grease gun
I had a zone 4” lift kit on my old truck. I had a lot of the same feelings you had. I was shocked on the packaging and how many chips were on the paint from shipping. Ended up installing and everything was fine but it was a bummer to see cosmetic issues out of the box. Are your UCSs holding up? Are you worried about the welds past the cosmetic issues?
Honestly it seems more of an aesthetic thing. I sold the truck this year so unfortunately can’t report on real longevity. They did end up working nicely though looks aside. I’d consider them again at their price point and having replacement ball joint available gives some piece of mind.
Yes the installation instructions said grease every 3k miles. Probably could get away with whatever your oil change interval is. This is why I prefer parts that don’t need to be greased. These did work well though.
Thank you.

How did you get the dust cap off to replace the ball joint?

Do you put the grease gun straight into the “zerk” fitting?
Yup 👍🏻

@@JsGarage just right! Have a buddy that’s buying a cherry 2015 and I was telling him about these shocks
You said grease them every 3k miles? That’s high maintenance in my opinion. Did I hear this correct?

Ever put them on?
