Brilliant technique! I've just spent the last two evenings down the youtube rabbit hole trying to find a suitable way to do the elastic binding and yours is the best I've found - thank you!
I love that you used scissors. I hadn’t thought of using anything but a craft knife and I have ruined the spine before doing that. I will DEFINITELY try scissors next time. Thank you!!!!!
@@CameliaCraftsDesigns your so very welcome. Love your stuff. I’m going to dive back into the rabbit 🐰 hole again to source out more tutorial’s you’ve put out there. I am looking forward to today’s continuation video. Thank you so much for what you do. Blessings
I'm learning ways of making spines. I know this is 2 yrs old but it is simply magnificent. I think you might be a genius. I looked at it for I don't know how long. I said well this woman is nuts. No way this is hidden. But then I looked again and said yes it is hidden. But how? Well your fabulous work of covering that spine piece made it blend in so well I couldn't tell that's what was going on. Had no idea it was the spine piece until you started on gluing it in. I'm just in aawe. And might I add you have made my life so much easier. I love a hidden spine. Whether I make it elastic or not is neither here nor there. But I will. I have elastic jewelry cord....clear see through so it won't show much at all. Thank you so so much. You are one helluva of crafter. I have watched your other videos and you are always amazing me but this one is making my life simple.
I couldn’t squeeze my fabritac bottle either, the sweet sugarbelle bottles really do make it easy! I was amazed at the difference. See this video is from a while back so you might have switched bottles since this was filmed, if not give it a try! Thank you so much for this tutorial, I’m going to use it for JJ January. I never would have known how to go about it without you
Hi emily, i have the sweet sugarbelle bottles for my collal glue now which is from europe and similar to fabritac. I slso got some tiny bottles for my art glitter glue. So glad you enjoyed this and found it useful love☺️🤗💜
@@CameliaCraftsDesigns 😂 I have that book and thought about making one after watching your video. I would create some kind of flip out ephemera folders for inside to store all my small ephemera. It's floating around in plastic pouches and tubs all over the place at the moment. Whether I get around to it is another story 🤦♀️😂
Love this! I just found some beautiful leather with gold foiling books, I want to keep the spine and was wondering how to do it. I can easily slide in my notebooks into the elastic and still see the spine on the outside, in all its leather/gold detail! Loved the use of the end pages to wrap in the inside done too! I'll definitely do that. Thank you!
Hi Julie, I Love, Love, Love this idea and guess what I ordered this book and am excited to use it inside and out 🎉 I love your videos and wanted to let you know that you bring me so much joy ❤ hope your having a wonderful day !!
Blinking lurveee it - super duper matey thanks. Its exactly how I thought you definitely made it look so easy. Any reason apart from expense why you didn't use the posh memory keepers eyelets. This book is currently at 6£ I shall wait a bit. I do have one that sue sent me but I'm keeping that to read (on day it'd coming to Devon in a caravan 🙄) It's not like you to be running out of something... Ever
This is a different idea, thank you for showing this🤓, but the problem lies in the fact that elastics have an expiration date and eventually it will stop working and it has to be changed to a new one 😳😳which you won’t be able to since it’s glued to the spine. 😄😄Thx for sharing anyways it was a neat idea. Have a great day😃😃
FYI, something you probably know, is to use some 100% acetone mail polish remover to thin that glue. It just takes a small amount in 3-in-1, fabritac, or fabrifix. Any acetone-based glue can be thinned with acdtone. :)
I'm wondering if there were two eyelets side by side there would be no need to string the elastic down the back. Would that not make it easier to change out the elastic later do you think? - plus save on elastic? Then glue to could be applied all along the back except for top and bottom where the eyelets are? Love elastic bindings. Tfs.
So…. My book finally came, took about two weeks to arrive (frustrating, bc Amazon Prime has me spoiled). It’s in beautiful condition BUT It stinks stinks stinks. And not the beautiful scent of an old book, but musty and mildewy: stinky. I tried reading it but the smell was just too much. So I’ll order another, from a different seller 🤞🏼, to read and tear this stinky one up. Such a shame. I have dryer sheets stuck in the pages, it’s in a brown paper bag with a box of baking soda and some coffee. If the weather was better, I’d leave it out in the fresh air and sunshine…❄️☃️🌧️❄️☃️🌧️ Hopefully, eventually it will get better. Lovely lovely book, so many great images. Tragic end she met for such a beautiful and talented lady 😕

I've done the same thing a few times Debbie. i'm not safe with a craft knofe at times😅 But then i cut sandwiches and pizza with scissors😘😊🤗💜
Awesome tutorial. Tyfs. Love listening to you explain. I learn heaps from you. Huge thanks. Blessings

I didn't use posh ones because you don't see the back of them. Also I've run out of tea dyed paper🤷♀️

What do you use to thin your 3 and 1?
