Great revival of old bookbinding technique. The middle school I attended had a print shop from the late 1920s. In the 1980s they still offered a print shop class that taught basic binding, use of old letter and newspaper presses. It was the beginning of my love for paper. Thanks for the reminder.
You are quite a find! I love your calm and gentle way. You're succinctness and lovely voice made this a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I've just had an additional thought. This sort of binding gives your "art" work room to breathe.
I have just made this journal. I even eco dyed fabric for the cover. Oh Wow. I love it. I have watched this tutorial many times before commencing mine, and changed some parts to suit what I wanted. The end result is fantastic, a beautiful A4 journal that looks incredible.

What a clever way to bind a journal So neat at the end and every pages opens flat that’s awesome Thank you for sharing it with us I love your fabric by the way
I recommend that everyone follows your instructions very carefully because I found out the hard way that if you glue the connecting papers incorrectly then the book will not fully open. That may be why you only put a thin line of glue on the inside of the paper that is glued to the inside of the cover (between that page and the book block ( the pages.) I will try again! I was able to fix it but it wasn’t as good as if I had done it correctly the first time. Thank you!
Well aren’t you a clever lady! I’ve been making junk journals and my own art journals for years and I’ve never seen this method of construction(I’ve done it on notepads a lot). I also love how you removed the stickers from the back of the fabric samples. Genius! Thank you so much for sharing this❤
