I am immediately intrigued by how you used dangle lace on the finished cover...very unique application. OO-oo-oo! 2nd cover, too! I would never have thought to use the dangles this way. Your machine has a very smooth operating sound. Thank you for taking the time to set your camera in a good position for us to see what you are doing...much appreciated! I have learned a ton of new things while watching your skilled hands work. Valuable video...much appreciated!!
I’m so glad you found the video enjoyable and helpful. I use Brother Strong and Tough sewing machine. I turn the sound volume down during editing process. So it is a bit louder in real life, but too bad. I’m very happy with it. Thank you very much for watching and commenting 😊❤️
Oh my, Dragana, what an incredible and patiently sewing work with the fishes 😳😳🧡🧡😳😳you are really a sewing virtuose! It happens again: Fallin' in love with these beautiful covers 😍
Oh, the final product is soooo rich, the whole project is so fun! I really like the design/arrangement on the cover and want to try to replicate it to some extent. On a smaller version, with materials I have and hand-stitching as sewing machines do not like me. I have only flat lace but I want the chunky one. I will probably visit some thrift stores to see if there are any items made with crocheted lace that I can cut out. I will look perhaps in tablecloth, bed throws and dresses/skirts sections of the stores. As for the work with brown paper bags, I have only two. But I can substitute those with perhaps 5 layers of newspapers. I already tried to make two projects with newspapers and loved the result (an origami pocket and paper bag ). After the base was done, I collaged pieces of fabric on the whole surface on the outside and used policy envelopes ‘buttons’ with brads and some twine for closures. Thanks for great inspirations, as usually!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you so much for watching. Newspapers would work great for the cover. I love the sounds such covers make. I'm always on the lookout for the crochet laces and tablecloths with lace. Sometimes I go to the local flea market to get some. They're usually cheap if they have coffee stains, but I really don't mind. I'd stained them anyway. 😊❤️
You made sewing all the fiddly trim part look easy! Somehow I imagine myself crying at some point while doing that part, lol. It’s beautiful, Dragana! ❤
I've been a subscriber for so long, how did I miss seeing this video? This cover is so inspiring. it is the sea, the summer, the shore......it is just amazing. Thank you for showing all that hard work.
It was such a treat to watch this creative process. Very, very, beautiful. Thanks so much for taking the time to share this whole process. Can't wait to se how you finish it.
THANK YOU so much Dragana!! This tutorial was awesome and you definitely make it look so easy. I myself will need to go to goodwill and get some crocheted placemats or tablecloth.
I just love it too!! It really gives you a feel of the ocean! I love watching your work in progress seeing all the steps to making a masterpiece!!! Thank you !
Dragana, this is a stunning cover. Thank you so much for this step by step process, it is by far the most informative tutorial I have viewed. I think it has given me the confidence to give it a try. Again thank you! Stay well.
I am new to your channel and so fortunate to have found you. What a beautiful imagination you have and creative mind. This was such an inspirational tutorial. Thank you so much. Take care❤
Oh my goodness, im so impressed with ur process of everything, i have so much lace, & doilies , but id like to make mine a recipe journal, you are a super great mentor, ❤❤❤
I just thought of a suggestion, after all the machine stitching, i can see it pulls in the fabric at different points. Heres my suggestion you could try maybe on a practice piece of stitched material, maybe lay or not, a thin cloth on top of ur stitched fabric, a press it , or another idea, maybe a light steaming this could possibly allow all the stitches, & sewn fabric to relax, and possibly to lay out a better proportional size, taking a measurement before you iron, than again after your iron/steam, i hope i was able to give you a suggestion, as for your covering , if your not able to understand me, let me know, and I'll try to figure out a better way to explain that method , good luck, let me know if that works out for you.
Don't you just love, love, LOVE all the opportunities to use mixed media on junk journaling? Every creative nerve and crafty muscle is tickled!!
I agree 100%! What a beautiful explanation, love that!
