Henry, can we mount a media campaign for Procreate to have an actual scalable workspace? For me, this is the last big hurdle for it to be an unbeatable app. Who’s with me?
Such a great idea! I already sent to Procreate team requesting a feature like this but not sure if they will listen. I am with you on this Campaign idea!
OK how did I miss where it is that you can draw on the layers? I’ve tried creating a layer underneath and it won’t let me put any ink down at all. I’ve tried drawing on the PDF layers and it won’t let me put any ink down. Can somebody give me a heads heads up here I’m sure this is a simple thing that I’m missing but I can’t figure it out.
Create a layer and group together! Took me forever to figure it out!
Can I use procreate to edit my floorplans for final design presentations? Just like you do in photoshop?
It still amazes me how people measure using imperial units. We the metric people take for granted how simple and elegant the metric system is.
I feel you, but you are talking about the entire population of USA, not to easy to convert to metric all of a sudden.

Great vision, you said it right and exactly why I agree that Procreate is more suitable for architect for artistic presentation. I have been testing out to see which software is best for my design practice too! I use Briscad (replace my 30 years use of Autocad - too expensive now) for precision design of floor plan layout etc.
For presentation, I use Photoshop fill and shade etc to get the depth, but I want to use my freehand sketch to make my presentation more natural, so I tried Infinite Painter, Artflow (Android), Photoshop, Morpholio, Procreate, and Concepts. Morpholio Trace is a great app with its fantastic super scale, and few other fill area calculation tools, but that I can get better and more precise area summary etc using my CAD software. MT is lacking beautiful brushes that Procreate can offer, and copy paste features is not there, Concepts also is a great app but it lacks one of the most important feature for me which is the magic wand selection for Fill, you know how much time we save to shade the inside of walls using Fill tool like Photoshop... I guess as an architect, I will use CAD to design the layout floor plan with precision first (one stop design and don't need to worry afterwards the hand sketch is not precise enought to fit into the context ) then I can use Procreate to perform our freehand sketch over the CAD generated pdf jpeg layout for design modification and client discussions.

I am impressed you took the time to try out all these apps! I’ve only experimented with Procreate and MT.
I think your workflow is kind of backwards in my opinion, the point of hand sketching is that it’s quick and effective at communicate early concepts. It defeats the purpose if you start with CAD, and then trace over it to make it look like a hand sketch.
Just my 2 cents…I appreciate you taking the tine to write a long response.

Hi Henry, any way to undo markups on PDF. I’ve found this to be a big issue when going back to markup and edit at a later date

Not fully! Morpholio is fantastic for many technical stuff that I hope Procreate will release similar features in the future.

Just found out- turn off page assist, add your text in a layer above the intended page- merge when needs be and when you export the file, press share layers and it’ll share the entire pdf and not just the layer you’re on :)

Good workflow. But yet no scale tool in procreate. Still a bit of a workaround isn’t it?
Let’s hope they come out with something for architects soon.
Have you tried to zoom to 100% in Procreate or Concepts and actually use your real scale on the iPad to measure?
@@huiarchitect I have not. But that would have limited applicability. When you work on large scale things like I do you ability to scale is only limited to large, broad items. Besides , defeats the beauty and fluidity of a completely digital workflow doesn’t it?
What about the grid with real measurements in procreate?
Does not work. No matter what device I use or how I get a pdf onto my iPad, it only ever wants to open pdfs in the books app and procreate reads pdfs as error or corrupt. I’ve tried usbs, sds direct connection via usb-c. iPad has been updated. Still no luck.
In order for Procreate to read PDFs, you have to import from within the App.
Needs to be vector. PC for presentation images only
I don’t agree with that! vector files can often behave weird like in an InDesign presentation if it has lots of lines.
Procreate does not allow the function to import PDF - So, how are you able to do this??
