Born in Hereford in1961, I have been to many concerts in Hereford Cathedral over the last fifty plus years. Dr. Roy Massey became a real friend! He used to call me "Johnson!" when the term was merely a surname! I was privileged to turn the pages of a manuscript, when he played world premiere, but he was so easy to turn for. He simply nodded when he wanted a new page, and that was up to four bars early!
And the great old organ has not been ruined. It must be one of the most colourful Father Willis organs in existence.
And now we come to this performance. The full glory of the old almost original organ makes magic! And the magic is only partly from the instrument and the wonderful setting. No matter how good the instrument - what really matters is the player! And in this case his dear brother who caught it in perfect sound, and brilliantly filmed recreations of the warm atmosphere of the beautifully wrecked structure of a great old Cathedral.
Thank you dear brothers Scott for one one of the nicest musical vids I seen and heard in many years.
    Bullseye.
Best wishes for George who still lives in Herefordshire...
PS: There is a good organ in Bromyard Parish Church [Hawkswood, I believe], but certainly atmospheric. Possibly worth a film, and being only a mile away, I certainly would wish to attend the rehearsal and concert! Dr Roy Massey made the first concert after the massive rebuild and yes it it is nice instrument.

Intended to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Tzar Alexander III reign, in the end Borodin dedicated In the Steppes... To F. Liszt.
If Borodin had had the chance to listen to Jonathan's version most certainly he would have rewritten his dedication
You are the best Jonathan !! ❤
    Really moving rendition.

The generosity of the two of you is exceeded only by the level of your many talkents. It is not often that one person brings joy, wonder and awe to audiences but to have that level of caring and willingness to share times two is amazing, especially in this day and age! Mere thanks is not enough and I hope to be able to send a monetary thank you soon!!

This piece is right at the top of my Top Ten, and played in the place where I was confirmed in the Church of England in 1953, while aerving in the Royal Air Force. What a tonic! Thank you.

So this is a bizarre tidbit. The oldest video I "saved" on RUclips is a recording of this song. I literally created a RUclips account over a decade ago so that I could return to hear the Steppes any time I wanted.

The generosity of the two of you in sharing your music and videography is exceeded only by the level of your talents. I never cease to be amazed that two brothers from one family can achieve world class fame! I hope you can do a piano/organ duet of Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring sometime between now and November 23rd. That will be our 50th wedding anniversary and one of my cousins played the organ and a woman that I taught with played the piano then. Unfortunately, I was on the porch of the church at the time and couldn't hear it. It has always been a favorite and my talents are miniscule in comparison to either of you!! I love a piano/organ duet and the two of you are undoubtedly the premier piano/organ combination in the history of music!! Thanks for the many, many hours of joy and solitude!

I don’t know when in the world I have spent 2 enjoyable hours as I have for the past 2. I have heard music played that I have never heard played on an organ. He had all the stops pulled out. It sounded as though he had a full orchestra behind him. A piece or two his feet must have run 5 miles. Would love to see the brothers in a live concert. The organ is my favorite musical instrument but it takes someone that really knows how to play it. Organists such as the Scott brothers are a dying art. You just don’t see many of them anymore and certainly not with the talent they have. By the same token there are no more Bachs or Beethovens and etc that can write music like they did and especially with the organs they had to work with back then. Thanks for the enjoyable, peaceful afternoon. Great job!

This thursday I've got the news that our former CEO had taken his own life. It shook me to the core, because I knew him well. We've had some serious head to head collisions, but also had an sence of agreement when discussing matters. My first encounter with him was on an early morning when he barged in and yelled at everyone that the place was a mess. I replied to him that we normally started the day with wishing each other a good morning. Since that day we got somekind of connection.
The rest of the day of the announcement wasn't very productive and I couldn't wait to get home. Strangely enough this was the first piece of music that came to my mind when learning of his untimely death and after listening several times it still brings tears to my eyes.
I really hope he found his peace and this music will always remind me of him.
