I just heard the Cleveland orchestra under Jukka Pekka Saraste do this in Severance Hall in Cleveland a few days ago. It was a fantastic performance, but I still think it sounds, or at least Jonathan makes it sound, like it was originally written for organ and the orchestral version is a transcription. What a performance. What a piece of music. Gets right to the bottom of one's soul. Bravo!!
Jonathan, thank you for sharing your beautiful talents. Your organ interpretation of Beethoven’s 5th is amazing! What an undertaking! 15:47 I’m sure Beethoven himself would have enjoyed this also.

Some of the most arresting playing I’ve heard. Not only technically brilliant but supremely musical. You have a clear understanding of the symphony and I imagine you would be an outstanding conductor if you wished to. God bless.
This is SO damn good. You’re brilliant at transcription. Too much to admire, so I’ll just say that the pizzicato passages in the strings and the transition from the third to the fourth movement are absolutely uncanny.
I know very little about pipes, technique, stops and most anything else regarding the playing of this instrument but I love the power of the music it produces when played by a skilled musician. Thank you sir for a grand experience.

Therefore (normally being a Klais-fan because of Cologne Cathedral, Altenberg, Himmerod Abbey and others...) at 2 AM (mid-european wintertime:), I kneeled down again, ...this time direction Schwarzach in Austria to Rieger Orgelbau... and worshiped: what a Masterpiece of Organ Construction, dear neighbours deep down south :) ! For Klais organ fans Jonathan has performed this piece on a very large Klais organ in a concert he gave at Echternacht Basilica in Luxembourg about a year ago. If you watch his vlog entitled "IN FAIR VERONA & LOVELY LUXEMBOURG - SCOTT BROTHERS DUO ON TOUR" the second half of that is all about the organ and the basilica and wth some tantalising snippets of the music.
