J remembering "carousel" like 20 minutes later might be my favorite part of this video. 😂
I have a big family and when I was in the hospital for 5 months and then had physical therapy for another few months, none of them was there for me. My best friends were there for me. I live in Canada and friends from FRANCE called my hospital room 2 or 3 times a week to cheer me up. They paid 250$ a month for 2 months for me to have a TV in my room because in Quebec that's what it costs. I have people from the US that DROVE 5 hours just to spend an afternoon with me. And yet, my aunts, uncles, most of my cousins, they weren't there at all for me. So Family has nothing to do with blood. And everything to do with love.
I feel the same way about my own family.
I have received more understanding and concern from friends and colleagues than my own blood relations. Yet these same folks constantly asking me to help them out of a financial pinch at a moments notice.
There's family and there's chosen family.

This episode is based off the DLC for the game named the same, "Left Behind" and is basically the same, the only difference was the future Ellie part took place in a Mall, where she looked for medicine for Joel, but the flashback basically played out the same, the only thing I can remember them cutting is a scene where they throw bricks at a truck, and they see who can break more windows, and a water gun fight. Other than that, it basically played out exactly the same.
im glad i found you today, this channel is so good and i like the editing detail of using something important and meaningful to what you are watching to cover your mouth when you swear i normally don't like censored swearing but that makes it good and after you jump then say shut up right after it i laugh every time at that

This was a sad episode to watch last night, but watching it the second time with you is just night and day. Still sad but Brown butter, Drogo bombs and the infamous JL ewwww makes it that much more special. Thanks for the heartfelt family speech. Couldn’t have said it better myself. I agree 100% about some folks just being relatives. Some people definitely got downgraded from family after my dad died in 2021, including a couple of his siblings.

I don’t see my family much but they are top tier. Friends come and go. It’s just proof society is tearing the family unit apart. Yes I have had friends I would die for and they would die for me.

No spoiler game v TV info as you probably know already this based off of a DLC called Left Behind but the reason Riley gave for leaving is based on a 4 issue comic called The Last of Us: American Dreams. This is very similar to the DLC story wise so not much to mention there outside of when they are attacked by infected in the end there are several more infected involved and the DLC kept cutting between Ellie and Riley's backstory in the mall and Ellie searching another mall in the current day to find a first aid kit, and unfortunately they didn't get to play the arcade games in the game as they were all broken. Side notes: Ellie knew Marlene in the comic and game she has a letter from her dead mother given to her in the comic and her mother says Marlene will look after her in it. The game also left you hanging on if Joel survived for a little bit, it cut to back when he fell off the horse and the season changed just like with Sam and Henry. and I'm not sure about this one but, I think it's funny in the game Tess had a headband/bandana and in the eTV show she doesn't and the reverse is true for Riley the head banned are a similar color too soo who knows maybe it was an easter egg, or I'm way overthinking it lol and when you asked what the name of the Carousel was I drew a blank also lol that was a struggle I didn't expect lmfao!

Are we going to get for the one year anniversary, the story of how the channel came to be??? How you guys decided to go for it???
I never got to finish this part (DLC) of The Game, so I didn't know Riley's story fully. Sure.. I knew (saw) what happened to her in The Game, but I was never aware of her Motives.
After watching this Episode, I felt somewhat conflicted by her over-all decisions. Worst of which.. was Leaving The School. I'm not a fan of school myself, but there is no better place to Socialize and Establish "Connections".. but I get it. She feels like they shafted her, but I don't think she understands that they haven't given up hope on her.
I hate Federal Institutions, but it seems to me that they were somewhat in the right. They only saw a problematic, reactionary child, and that Officer probably did his best not kick her out. Still a Shit Duty at the end though, I get it.. with No Pun intended.
All I'm saying is that, as much as I hate FI like Fedra.. that dude and Ellie had a point. Her case wasn't entirely lost.. and she could've used that position to gain something better; by proving herself. And Marlene.. jfc.. recruiting kids? Tch-tch-tch
It's sad what happened to her in the end.. and I don't know if it's really "better" if they showed it or not. But, that is just my curious/nosy nature.
Seeing Joel cry after seeing her come back, was probably the most touching part of this episode. And I'm TELLING YOU Murder Whistle. As I've said before in my comment on The Last Episode. You will agree with those of Us who agreed with what Joel did.. in The Final Episode. I'm Telling You fam.
