Those of us watching this in Calgary and Southern Alberta are not only enjoying a great show, but because it was shot here, we get to play "guess where this scene was shot" a lot :) There's one sequence in particular in episode 2 that takes place over about 1 minute, and it's just characters walking across a post-apocalyptic bridge and having some expository dialogue. The bridge is one of the most iconic in Calgary, the "Fourth Avenue Flyover", which they had to shut down completely for 3 days in order to shoot this. Some motorists were a tad pissed :)

I am so happy that you are watching this. As a gamer who has played the game several times, they are sticking to the storyline pretty well and I am sure someone already mentioned that the theme music is actually from the game. Fun fact: The little girl Sarah who dies early on is actually Thandie Newtons daughter and she did a brilliant job. For those of us who already knew Sarah died already prepared for it but seeing it with live people just hits differently. I can't wait to see your reaction to the other episodes because you are in for a wild ride so fasten your seat belt.
This show is a team-up of Craig Mazin, one of the main guys behind HBO's _Chernobyl,_ and Niel Druckmann the co-writer/cinematics director of original _The Last of Us_ game and later solo-writer of its notorious sequel.
The music for both game and show are primarily done by Gustavo Santaolalla.
People feel a lot of ways about how they've adapted the game, and how this might be leading into the story of _Part II_ which cut the fanbase in half. But so far this has been a dream team. Craig and Niel are an excellent match for each other.
Far as things being out-of-context in the beginning, the show gives us _a lot more context_ than we even got in the game; the game is mostly just from Joel's POV with none of the extra scenes with Marlene and them

The music in the show is from the games, both the first and second one.
The show is very good and if you're planning to play the game, the nice thing is there are enough differences that you can still be surprised in the game. Some scenes are exact duplicates from the game. Some scenes and characters are completely different. The show has been able to surprise gamers who have mastered the game.
Also note there's _The Last of Us: Remastered_ which is the original game and there's _The Last of Us: Part I _*_Remake_* which has slight tweaks and different character models redesigned to match how the characters look/act in the sequel.
Didn't thought I'd see you react to this but I'm happy that you're watching this series. Not going to spoil anything but while it does follow the game not everything is the same, mainly to simplify a few things and in other aspects it's to give more backstory so things make sense especially for someone like you who has never played the game. So enjoy it for what it is, even if you don't know the game it's an awesome story and it's a different perspective since most people who are reacting to it seem to have played so they know what's coming.
This is a good series and I love that you went into it blind like I did (haven't played the game). Just giggling here at your impatience. All will be revealed! :D

@JL This show does a GREAT job staying very close to the amazing games of TLOU 1 and 2. The cast is amazing and so far as a Sony fan since PS1 I am loving this show. Im glad you will do a gaming channel one day that will be loads of fun :). Maybe one day you will get a PS5 but glad your gaming w/e platform your on. Also @JL this exists in nature now it is how game designer who is on set to make sure series stays like games the exists in 2 or 3 specific types of ants..... As they said in the show if the infection was fungal we would have No chance against it :).

This show was nothing short of amazing! I have a close friend I was in the service with who has land and he's FULLY prepped for something like this, he's got a full arsenal, cattle, pigs, chickens, a garden of vegetables/fruits wood burning stove/oven a smoker, and he lives in a place where you will NOT find his place if you don't know where it is. He's got a diesel generator for the house and there's a pump jack on his property so he has access to crude oil so he has basically an unlimited fuel supply if the shit hits the fan.

Sarah’s death in the game, makes me cry every time. But the show made a good attempt. It’s the pain whimper in the game, I don’t know how the actress did it, but it sells it.

I don't know how many times we started a movie after dinner & my guy who wanted to watch an action movie, comedy or horror has started snoring within 30 minutes ;) I just turn the volume up & finish the movie then rewind to put it back around the spot he started dozing so he can finish it later :P This really is an amazing show!! So glad to see you are watching it & I hope you play the game as well because watching you jump out of your skin while watching videos is funny enough, but to watch you jump & yell while your character is being chased, maimed, or killed will be even funnier ;)
The story in the game is phenomenal man, as someone who has played a lot of games with better story telling than most movies/shows, this one is waaaaayyyyyyy up there my friend. high hopes for the show, its great so far

The game is really stressful, I don't know if I would call it fun. The story is really good and so far I really like the show and the additions to the story. I hope the show ends the same way the game did.
