Martin O'Neill's Leicester signings were something else. Most unknown or journeymen players - he built them into a team which shocked the league. This is some list - Tim Flowers, Matt Elliott, Super Stevie Claridge, Izzett, Lennon ans Savage in midfield, Spenny Prior, Gerry Taggart the hardman, Ian Marshall! Unbelievable signings

I usually agree with Simon. But he's a bit off it here. There's no possible way to know a) how well a signing will settle in the area, let alone team with different styles. b) what a players form will be like in the future. Various things such as family issues can affect a player's performance. Or a new injury that can't possibly be predicted, can mess with form.

It's funny how Simon moves the goalposts to fit his narrative. There is one narrative when it comes to a chairman like Daniel Levy, and a completely different one when it comes to Moshiri. It is weird how Jordan defends Levy and goes the opposite way to put the blame on Moshiri. It is difficult to argue with someone that inherently tries to validate his biases through subterfuge, and I think that's what Jordan does so well.

    • @nick1546

Spot on. I really don’t know why he keeps making excuses for Levy. In another video recently he even labelled the Tottenham fan base “toxic”, in the context of whether or not new players might want to join them. I’m not a Tottenham fan but this feels awfully unfair. Hardly wasted millions. Not every transfer was a success as it is with any manager.
Martin O'Neill spent over his time at the club £152.4m on 28 players with an average transfer fee of £5.4m.
Those same 28 players sold for a total of £93.5m or an average fee of £3.3m. (According to Transfermarkt)
That is with 16 of those players either retiring or being allowed to leave on a free due to poor management from the board at that time. (Inc. Brad Friedel, Brad Guzan, Carlos Cuellar, John Carew, Nigel Reo Coker, Stephen Warnock, Richard Dunne)
As far as wages go. Villa had £93.9m being spent in 2009-10 in wages. By comparison the Villa team in 2014-15 had a wage bill of £94.3m (According to Forbes)

Simon talking absolute nonsense, he knows Moshiri has brought in players and multiple of them. It’s not a case of managers going to Moshiri and asking for Sigurdsson El Ghazi etc.

An owner doesn’t buy a football club as a football expert. So why would a FOOTBALL MANAGER trust their word in things to do with the pitch. Simon is laughable
