What a guy, worked in the boardroom at paradise, Martin turned round too quick and his elbow caught a cup of tea and spilled over him, he said “don’t worry son I’m freezing anyway” class act! Him and Mjallby, big Mjallby helped me up 4 flights of stairs with all the food for the fans in the lounge! What a team!
As a Rangers fan I've always had massive respect for Martin. Such an aura about him like Clough had. No doubt some of that Clough magic rubbed off on him. I could listen to him talk all day.
Fair play mate, to not acknowledge a good manager and person is just pure bitterness. I think most celtic fans would have been the same with Walter Smith
I think it really shows the kind of respect that Martin O'Neil has in the football world, Si Ferry listens to every word with total concentration, what a great interview.
Celtic legend! Turned us around when he came in with the other lot dominating and looking ominous. That put us back on top and triggered dominance of the century to date…✊🍀
Legend of the game. Absolute pleasure to hear him talk about the seville days, very few managers wil cut a path as important as Mr O'Neil and im delighted, absolutely delighted , that he has been a part of our club, and history.
I’m only 20 but being from Norn Iron I had to watch the famous Spain 82 match back, what a player. Absolutely carried us that night, from what I saw. Northern Ireland Legend.

What a guy Martin you built a juggernaut at Celtic the more I listen to you I hear alot of big Ange in there different accents but football brains are very similar thanks for the memories Martin wish you and family the best of health 💚🍀🇮🇪🏴
Martin as a 57 year 'Tricky Tree' fanatic, you're the business. People wonder at the present wages of footballers now, but you have been part of my life. Worth every penny. Understated yes, you so know that is true... but never over estimated. You're a God my friend.
Rangers fan but loved the interview an extremely intelligent and interesting man and assembled the best celtic team I've seen Douglas Agathe Balde Valgaren Mjällby Lambert Lennon Thompson Larsson Sutton Hartson they looked like they could score from every corner
Legend. As an aside, I want Portugal to get pumped out in the next round - have never liked any team or player from their since. Ajax games were the turnaround games - that's when i started to believe.
Brilliant interview, I enjoyed listening to both Si's interesting questions, and Martin O'Neill speaking passionately and from the heart. I love these well thought out, calm 1:1 podcasts much more than the others where Slaney talks gibberish in Glaswegian slang and it's almost impossible as someone from Wales to understand a word he's saying
Great interview 1-2-1. Thank God Paul Slane wasn't there. Martin O'Neill is class. Met him a couple of times through work when he was at Celtic, and thought he was a brilliant bloke. His wife was absolutely fantastic as well. Wonderful lady.
For Celtic to secure Martin O’Neill, who’s Leicester side were ridiculously over achieving and he was constantly touted as the man to replace Ferguson at Utd, shows how high his stock was. He was linked with all the bigger jobs in England but came to Celtic. I also remember Guus Hiddink almost getting the job before Desmond stepped in
I loved him and I worked at Paradise in the boardroom, I spoke to him a lot and he was a gentleman. Hurt me when he left, don’t think the reason was 100% true, his wife was ill but all of a sudden it wasn’t long till he was in the Premiership. Maybe I’m wrong, I’ve battled with myself since he left but I still can’t forget! Just seemed wrong. Think it was our marketing dpt came up with that excuse to leave as he was idolised and that was the easy option. Just look at Rodgers when the truth was told, it caused uproar! But a genuine gentleman
Managers like him who actually managed the whole club are gone. Managers like him, Walter smith, fergie, Wenger now replaced by specialist first team coaches.
If oneil brought in at least 1 more midfielder who was on the same level as Henrik n sutton we woulda made the last 16 easy in the champions league that year I felt.. thanks for the great times martin🍀💚
We had petrov lambert and lennon. That's a world class midfield, Martin was unlucky and had a better points tally than Strachan but wasn't enough to get out of the groups.

Agents spoilt the once beautiful game once they got involved as thats then when players began to dictate to managers when it should be vice versa manager rules .
