Hi, the build series was absolutely awesome, I have watched many of your videos and they are always the best quality. I do have one question regarding one of the casing mods on the water channels. Is that to remove air that could get trapped? Or is it for additional water flow? If it is water flow where do you return it to?

No doubt you are a master builder, great job. Is it me or you had to change the oil filter on this engine? Or maybe this is a whole other motor, the one you put on part 2 was red, now this one's black 🤔🤔🤔🤔
If I had to guess, the first one was just a cheap filter he keeps in the shop, and it was fitted to protect the mating surface / threads, and keep anything from getting inside. Then he put a decent filter for shipping that the customer could use if they wanted. Putting the new one on first, it would possibly get dented, and it would look kind of ghetto being on a top-line engine like this. That is my guess, anyway.

Very nice. I once owned a 1992 Subaru SVX which had a 6 cy. engine that looked very much like the one you just assembled. At about 55000 miles one of the timing belt idler pulleys failed, tossing bearing balls around inside of the timing belt cover. I replaced the belt and all the idlers (working in a cramped one car garage) but it would not start. It took hours of investigating to finally discover that the camshaft position sensor (see 8:29) had been damaged by one of the bearing balls being jammed against it by the cam sprocket. It took 2 weeks of searching to find a replacement. I used the car for 13 years, 254000 miles.
