      Chase, so stoked you stopped by. I am super excited for this season. I’ve been putting out weekly high quality videos and I’m on the verge of big channel growth. My sub rate doubled last month during the off season! Hopefully seeing this video helps you to know, it’s not if, it’s when. . I would love to support you! Consult privately behind the scenes for you on anything I can offer. Movement, balance, strategy, experience are my strengths as well as psychology. How fear helps and hurts extreme athletes, I used to be a paragliding instructor and competitor. . . I would kill to do a climb like this with a guy like you, thoughtful, sincere, supportive, I love your mind set, no macho BS. If you need some special footage. . . Whatever I could help with. I am a solid drone pilot as well. I just published a collaboration video with a very strong athlete and I am very proud of it. You don’t need to expend much energy with me if you want my support. Ask anything and I’ll do the writing assuming I am equipped to answer your question intelligently. If I can help you, in the long run, I’d LOVE a shout out! You can be assured my content will add value to your viewers. I think we have different yet very complimentary areas of expertise, you spiritual, genuine, medicinal, training fitness. Me risk-taker, deep rock climbing understanding, movement, balance, meteorology. I think we’re both strong on gear, strategy, and most exciting videography. The coolest thing I have not seen with anyone else, we belong in nature kind of like other animals, a part of it, with a unique awareness, ya cheesy but I think you will understand, most don’t. I have enjoyed seeing your growth, and growing with you, we have both come a long way! Some day I hope we came do a shoot/adventure together! The one I just published mt Wilson with Chris was amazing! I’m quite sure we could meet that standard. I know I’m literally one of over 100,000 fans. You don’t need to expend a bunch of energy on me. Ask a short question and if I can help you. . .with yet another short novel. . . I will and not be at all offended if you’re very brief. Once I earn your confidence we can build a relationship if you’d like. Sorry that got a little rambling anyway you’re the only one I’ve approached like this. You’re unique in a world of false bravado and arrogance. Let me know and I’ll get you an email address, your friend Karl Decker

      Yes it was empty and awesome! Man, since then I have ruptured the left biceps ligament at my elbow self arresting in steep snow on Kit Carson, last steep slope down! too lazy to walk, oh man. Already had surgery and am recovering quickly but at least 2 more months till I'm rock climbing hard. I can do class 3 now 10 day after surgery I think but, that 's it :-( . I did do Mount Lindsey right before surgery, short class 4 and I highly recommend that trip, it was just beautiful in that valley! Video is coming out great! Saw your trip up snow on Pike's, man I was scared for you when I saw the axe leash not on your wrist, loosing that in a fall, YIKES! Cool video though!

      I think I'm ready for any class 3 adventure. Still interested in Mount Audubon and Paiute Peak? Let me know what and when might work for you? DeckerKarl@hotmail.com Does sound perfect for me, moderate with light exposure and great vistas. . . confidence builder! If it's cool with you, I would rather go up Paiute Peak side first just to avoid sliding lots in the loose going down and risking the arm. Normally, I think I would rather do the talus shuffle slide thing since it is generally fast less energy but. . . .do you know the deal with the "reservation System" for IPW?

    As an avid hiker and a regular viewer of the hiking videos, I have to say, this is one of the very best videos I have seen. The quality, perspective, colors, narration and just about everything about this was as close to perfect as it could be. Thank you for taking us on this beautiful and epic journey. The mountain goats are always so awe inspiring but you were right up there with them and that's saying something. Class 3 is a bit of a stretch for me but I have bagged a few class 2 peaks in the swatch range and made it to the middle of the trough on Longs peak. Travelling from flatland Indianapolis to Colorado and hiking 14ers is always a challenge but I hope to graduate up to Class 3 someday. Keep doing and sharing these epic adventures. Be safe and stay blessed.

    8:51 - I got the exact same help on Mt. Massive (1st time ever seeing mountain goats for me... then them showing me the way, EPIC!!!). P.S.- maybe try the half-moon halfpipe beginning and end, but add all the ridges for a loop??? Maybe call it a Half-Pipe Half-Moon? Idk... You have the imagination with film and angles... Please keep it up!!! You really live the life!!!

    I did this hike today. There were quite a few moments where I had to just go for it quickly before the fear took hold and I froze up. The down climb from the crux was… wow. I see why the route has claimed lives and is constantly requiring SAR response.
    Incredible how you made this video on top of the climb itself. Your work is mind boggling. I only took a handful of photos as I just wanted to get through safely.
    Were the shots of you walking away from the camera at about 9:20 done with a drone? You didn’t actually go back to get the camera, did you? That would be insane.

    • @KarlDeckerPresents
      @KarlDeckerPresents  3 месяца назад +1

      I did go back of the cam that time but once in the climb I did use a "parked drone" while I was climbing. I've been rock climbing and a few other extreme sports for a very long time. . . and my first rock climb I was FREAKING OUT, LOL. Cheers Brother!

      I have a deep fascination with that ridge. I need to climb it but, I just hate the thought of lugging all the climbing gear up there to do it. At 5.7-5.8 it is outside of my comfort zone for free soloing.

      I had some seriously good luck with all the goats and that scene back there is so EPIC! Just watched your Pacific peak video, well done I'll comment there. Just got the bandages off 9 days after surgery to reattach my biceps ligament, just as suspected. Looked GREAT and healing super fast. I did climb a couple mountains before surgery as well, Mt Lindsey, short class 4 pitch. It was very picturesque and felt really wild, . . .like out there wilderness. Met another cool kid I spent much of the day with. . . I'll be posting our trip next! Bro, you sure needed that stabilization improved go pro, the helmet mount coupled with the stabilization. . . tough to use footage. . .

      @KarlDeckerPresents  3 года назад

      I am impressed you noticed, that is exactly my goal, I feel my audience may not get to smell the air or feel the breeze but, I can impart a more vivid visual sense of the scene with bright vibrant clarity applying some extra grading effort. I do enjoy making it "pop". I have found lowering/darkening, the Gama, mid tones, can really help with careful contrast adjustments. You can also go heavier with saturation if you make sure the Hue and white balance are just right too. . . .
      The climbing goats was impressive!I do think they were at their limit on class 3, it was nice since I knew it was a sure thing for me and my pinchers if they could do it with only hoofs! Thanks brother!
