Very glad I found this video. The Ellingwood Ridge is a goal I’ve had for decades, never got around to it. Other projects seemed more important at the moment. You do excellent work filming, editing with music and commentary. Thanks again.
It's always a pleasure and inspiring as you take us through these amazing hikes. As expected, another top class video but I have come to expect nothing less from you. Stay safe brother.
It was cool, definitely the long way. In a "dawson" book I have it is mentioned to climb out of that central basin and onto the ridge about mid way to a low point up a gully of your choosing. I considered doing that but decided iI should do it all for the video. . . The gullies did look loose as I inspected them from the ridge above but, may well be a nice option if you can pick a decent line up one of them??? The Upper ridge was definitely the highlight for me and the lower approach section below tree line was , as mentioned, was a jungle PITA!
Thanks Aamon, always a pleasure to hear from you. This ridge is just a monster, really like a couple 13ers leading to the 14er. So glad you're checking out some earlier videos, if you have not already, the San Juan Mountain Adventures, like Vermillion peak, Ulysses Grant are some of my favorites. A really amazing place. Cheers!
This is a fantastic video. Beautiful shots, well paced, and well edited. Tons of great information. I'd never even heard of Ellingwood Ridge, and now it feels like something that has to be done. Great inspiration!
@@LiveHardxLoveHard Please check out my new premier, Capital peak Northridge direct is one of the best climbs in Colorado! And one of the best videos if I do say so myself, LOL
@@KarlDeckerPresents I didn't think you were so much in climbing 14ers, but you tackled quite a few this summer. I have been researching lately and found bunch of 14er alpine routes that I didn't know existed would love to tackle some of those with you.
It was epic but yea, no drone in the Wilderness area. . . Big bummer for me, ripping a slalom course through those towers would have be super rad! Hope all is well with you and your brother!

Many thanks! Wow love hearing that my brother 🙏! I'll do my best for sure. Karl 👍
I was up there a couple weeks ago, via standard route. We stared at that ridge thinking how crazy it looks. Awesome content as always!

Only a handful of decent videos on this route so this was super interesting.
And funky! Choose your own adventure and if not carful it could choose you too, LOL!
Beautiful sawtooth structure on that one. As always, great cinematography!

I have better plans for us. The videos are coming. Where we can have drones and unbelievably attractive scenery.
A lot of my videos have drone footage you should see and you will agree!

@@KarlDeckerPresents would love too, but have already plans with the family for Tuesday.
Fantastic video, I really enjoyed 👍
Thanks CTT! Please post any new cool edits you have here! I love you drone works! Would like to learn more from your skills!

Someone finally noticed LOL!
Nice climb Karl. No drone in this one if I’m correct? Even so, beautifully shot & edited.
