  • Let's build a track from scratch with the Arturia Keystep Pro (KSP) as the brain of the setup!
    The KSP is sequencing 3 instruments here: the Roland SE-02, the Dreadbox Nymphes and the JU-06A.
    The Arturia Drumbrute Impact is also synced with the KSP (analog clock).
    Each patterns here were built live from scratch. I just needed to setup the sounds and effects on the synths, and some parameters on the KSP (scale = Dorian, 5-step pattern for the bass...)
    * Hardware used *
    - SEQ1: Roland SE-02 (analog mono synth) + Red Panda Particle 2 (granular delay) + Pill Pedal (ducking pedal) +Strymon Bigsky (reverb)

    That was just so good.
    Thank you for directing me there.
    So each track can do 16 sequences and you are using sequence 1 on track 1 and 3 but not all 64 steps. Also using tack 1 in drum mode. Also all done with midi and not the cv gates/ triggers etc...that makes things easier.
    Am I right so far?
    Sold my Nymphes ( what a prat) but I do have a Behringer Pro vs mini which is polyphonic and gives out a good sound for its price.
    How can I buy you a coffee or send you a little something for helping me out.
    You know what you are doing so I am like a rabbit with the ears up listening and taking what I can In.
    Thank you.

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  7 дней назад

      Hey thanks! You are totally right 👍👍
      In Arturia's vocabulary, the "sequences" are called "patterns", and indeed, each track contains 16 patterns which can be from 1 step to 64 steps long 😉).
      Thanks so much for your generosity, but I really created this channel to share with other music lovers 🤗 If you have some time just leave me some feedback on some of my videos, it's always a pleasure having your thoughts 😀

      And yes I'm using MIDI here, not CV/GATE 😉

  • @fernfaraday6122
    @fernfaraday6122 2 года назад

    That was brilliant! I am considering buying a Keystep Pro myself but I am still a bit at a loss with midi connectivity...the Drumbrute goes to the clock output, but what about the other three synths? Could you explain how you connect the three of them via midi to the Keystep? Thanks!

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  2 года назад

      Thanks for your comment! There are a couple of ways you can control other synths with the KSP. If you are in the analog world, the KSP has Gate/CV connections, you then have 2 MIDI OUTs which can theorically be used to control 32 (2 x 16 MIDI channels) instruments, using MIDI thru.
      Actually here, I used the KSP's USB and a USB MIDI hub (my DAW) to control on different MIDI channels the 3 instruments. Hope that helps? 😉

    Great video! I only have the keystep 37, (which is not a knock against it) but I was wondering if I can connect my drumbrute impact to my 37 and have the 37 control it? If so, how would I connect them? Thanks.

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  Год назад +1

      Thanks! 😉 I think the best way to control your Drumbrute is to use the MIDI OUT of your Keystep 37 into the MIDI IN of the Drumbrute (by the way, with "control" do you mean playing the sound of each track of the Drumbrute with the keys of the the Keystep 37 or syncing the Drumbrute's clock to the Keystep 37 internal sequencer for example?)

    • @TheGreatPanicker
      @TheGreatPanicker Год назад

      @@2MinuteWarning Yeah, i would like to play each drum sound with the keys on the 37. I know it sounds totally foreign to do that, but I like to try different things, ya know?! With that, how would I make a beat, just keep the 37 on sequencer mode, record a beat and then hit play, I presume? Then I can still twiddle the knobs on the impact to change sound parameters and even switch midi channels and do something with my monologue, in keyboard play mode?! Thanks for your help, means a lot!

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  Год назад

      @@TheGreatPanicker Ok I think I see 😉 So you'd prefer use the sequencer of the Keystep 37 to sequence the drum sounds on the Drumbrute rather than the Drumbrute's sequencer? (I don't really know if the sequencer of the Keystep 37 can do that, but on the Keystep Pro it's surely possible)
      Otherwise, may be you can use it in a hybrid way, where you could set the Drumbrute in real-time recording mode, then play on the keys of the Keystep and it will record the notes into the Drumbrute's sequencer?
      Also you can of course change the MIDI channel on your Keystep to switch from the Drumbrute to another instrument like the Monologue.

  • @christophseubert605
    @christophseubert605 5 месяцев назад

    How did you turn off the sequencer auto-play from the Roland JU-06A when you press play on the Keystep? Everytime i starting midi, my Juno starts his sequencer 😬

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  5 месяцев назад +1

      I don't really remember for this jam in particular, but you have the possibility to set the MIDI CLock Source of the JU-06A to internal for example (instead of Auto, MID or USB). By doing so, the JU-06A's sequencer won't start when you hit start on an external sequencer to which it is hooked to by MIDI 😉 (you have to hold down ARPEGGIO to get into the menu, and press [3] and set the MIDI Clock Source on INT for example)
