096▶️ Overdrive 💥 Cinematic Ambient Jam (Roland JU-06A // JD-08 + Pill Pedal // Arturia Keystep Pro)

- WIth this 2nd video featuring the Roland JD-08 synth, I wanted to make a more cinematic-like jam! The Keystep Pro is sequencing both synths featured here: the JD-08 (128-voice, 2-part digital synth) and the JU-06A (4-voice digital synth, modelling the analog JUNO-60 and JUNO-106).
The JD-08 is going through the Pill Pedal (ducking pedal) which is being triggered by a sequence coming from Track1 (Keystep Pro).
In order to add some movement to the JD-08, I'm also playing live with its "PITCH FINE" parameter on the transitions. On the outro, I also enabled the "famous" distortion of the JD-08 on its PAD sound 😉

Justs wondering, are tve two parts from the jd 08 mapped to seperate midi channels so you can sequence them on two different tracks on the ksp? Lovely soundscape you created there, thanks alot! :)
Yes you are totally correct for the 2 parts of the JD08 sequenced by 2 tracks of the KSP 😉 (and thanks 😊)
Do you use the o8 sequencer at all as I wouldn’t be able to use it with my other stuff if it wasn’t for another add on sequencer… it’s very annoying machine ( Jd o 8). ,, it’s almost forcing me to buy the keyboard add on ..
Hi Sully, I tried using the JD08's sequencer when I first got it but I must say that I have been using the JD08 more with external sequencers as it is more handy for me 😊
Seems like you you transpose the bass and pads but not the arpeggio pluck. How do you do that on the arturia?
You can choose which tracks you want to transpose 😉 Actually I was just transposing the bass (track 2) until 1:48 where I added the arpeggio (track 3) to the transpose group (so the arpeggio is getting transposed too, but you can't barely hear it because of the heavy sidechain going on 😅)
Great job ! Can you help me please? If you use for example arturia Pigments plugin, is it possible to add key mapping on MIDI keyboard for change presets from this keyboard? I have Komplete Kontrol M32, and can't do this, but i like fast switch presets. And one more question , can you advice, i'm, newbie in Music, but i want arturia controller, if we speaks about controller without live shows like you, it makes sense to take keystep pro or something simpler, so i really like use mechanical knobs on keyboard for change different settings like modulation lfo etc , OR maybe another brand? Thanks!
P.S. maybe Ableton push 1?
Hey thanks for your comment! If you are planning to use mainly VSTs like Pigments, I think that the Arturia Keylab controllers might be a better solution as it offers full integration for plugins 😉
I also have the Ableton Push which is a powerful controller, however I'm not sure it will be the best solution for navigating within presets with 3rd party plugins like Pigments.
Otherwise, I don't have the Komplete Kontrol M32 but are you sure it can't change presets on VSTs? As far as I recall, it can send a lot of different MIDI messages like "Program Change" etc. (haven't tested though 😅)
@@2MinuteWarning I have already watched video about Bitwig and Push, somebody uploads drivers for this, and Push works great with different presets, push look great, and I think that he has limitless possibilities for flight of fancy
