    For me you are one of the best on youtube. I have a lot of equipment and I know what I'm talking about. Getting hardware to work is not the same as working in front of a computer.

      Thanks for your encouraging comment Mariano! 🙏 It really helps keep up the motivation making more videos! Dealing with hardware can indeed be more complex (syncing issues, midi & audio routing, changing presets etc.) But still is fun, inspiring and sometimes challenging 😅

      @@2MinuteWarning That's it. You do a good job showing the combination of different instruments and effects. At the same time, you make nice music that I like. I'm waiting for the next gems :)

      Thanks a lot! 🙏 For the last month of 2022, I'm trying something new/different where I'll be posting shorts each 5 days. Will surely get back to the more conventional format of the channel next year 😉 (by the way, can I listen to your music somewhere online? As you are enjoying the music here, I was saying to myself that it might be the same for your music 😀)

    Ça ne change pas, c'est toujours agaçant.
    On est bien d'accords que ton split du KSP est préparé en amont sur tes motifs, sinon je veux bien un détail.
    Pour ton outro, ça manque un peu des slides de la Bassline, mais ça va, le SE02 s'en sort bien quand même.

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  2 года назад

      Haaa iktomi, merci !J'avais failli ne pas te reconnaître 😅 La Bassline aurait en effet pu apporter un petit plus (j'y avais même pensé !) Mais cela commençait à faire une config un peu costaud à gérer (penser à changer les sons, les effets, les séquences sur le Digitone et le KSP etc.)
      Sinon pour le split, je pense que hormis le point de split que j'avais dû décaler d'une note (en incluant le Do du haut) je n'avais pas réalisé d'autres préparatifs. Je ne sais pas si c'est bien à cela que tu pensais ? 😉

    • @V3nom7
      @V3nom7 2 года назад

      @@2MinuteWarning Héhé c'est bien moi :D
      Je veux bien te croire que gérer les slides de la DB01 aurait nécessité un 2ème cervelet et une main en plus à force.
      Pour le split, il s'agit de celui que tu évoques à 9:47, et que tu a "fait" 1 minute en amont, mais à la volée comme ça, je ne saisis pas bien. (les canaux midis et les plages de notes tout ça...) à moins que ce ne soit une "bête" manip de split basée sur deux motif additionnés (ou un truc du genre) que j'ignorais ?
      (J'ai pas touché à mes instruments depuis presque un an, je m'y remet à peine, doucement...)

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  2 года назад

      @@V3nom7 La bonne nouvelle est que tu t'y remets (doucement mais surement 😉) ça c'est cool !
      Pour le split, par défaut quand tu appuies sur 2 boutons "Track" il te splitte sur la partie de droite la première "Track" sur laquelle tu as appuyée et sur la partie de gauche la 2ème "Track".
      Le point de split par défaut est le 2ème Do du clavier (quand Octave=0), mais tu peux le définir où bon te semble, c'est ça la petite préparation que j'avais faite. Chaque piste continue à garder ses caractéristiques MIDI etc.
      Donc quand à 8:53 j'appuie sur Track 3 puis Track 2, je splitte le KSP pour qu'à droite il joue la Track 3 (= piste MIDI 3 jouant le Nymphes) et qu'à gauche la Track 2 (= piste MIDI 2 jouant le SE-02).
      Je ne sais pas si j'ai bien compris et du coup répondu à ton interrogation ? 😅

Great work and don't give up despite the tech issues 💪Just one question which I'm curious about I don't see any midi cable and, considered I suck at tech, how do you sinc everything, only via usb? • @2MinuteWarning

      Hey thanks for your feedback, appreciate it! 🙏 Indeed, the instruments are synced by MIDI through USB here 😉 It's my DAW which is acting as the USB MIDI hub here (and was also used to record the sound coming from the instruments). Hence all the USB from the instruments go inside my DAW, and the MIDI routing is being done inside Ableton Live.

    I really enjoyed your video and thank you.
    I have only just got my kspro and a bit disappointed. It is advertised as being able to control up to four synths. Yes you can plug four synths in but you cannot control all four simultaneously which is why I bought it.
    Arturia said it was not designed to be used that way.
    I fail to see the use of the four tracks?
    If you have time, please enlighten me as I feel a bit sore about it.
    Perhaps I am intending to use it the wrong way?
    Thanks again for you excellent video.

      Hi, thanks for your comment, glad you enjoyed my video 😀
      Yes you can control 4 synths simulteanously (that's what I'm doing here and in my other videos 😉). You just have to assign a different MIDI channel to each of your synths. For example:
      - Synth1 set to receive on MIDI channel 1 and KSP's track 1 set to send on MIDI channel 1
      - Synth2 set to reveive on MIDI channel 2 and KSP's track 2 set to send on MIDI channel 2
      -Synth3 set to... Etc.
      With this setup you'll be able to send different patterns to the 4 synths at the same time (if that's what you were planning to do? 😉)

      Thank you so much for getting back to me.

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  4 месяца назад

      Always a pleasure trying to help someone! And hats off for doing this at 74, I'm quite impressed!
      You need to record a pattern on each track of the KSP first (either by recording in real time by pressing record then play, either in step mode by pressing record and then playing some notes on the keyboard).
      Once you've recorded a pattern on each track (for example pattern playing the Bass, Chords, Lead etc.). You just hit play on the KSP abd all tracks which does not have an empty pattern, will play the associated instrument. Hope it helps? 😉

      @@2MinuteWarning
      Aha!
      I think I get it now.
      So there has to be a "sequence" loaded on each track which will play the associated synth connected to that track!
      I was trying to play the kspro with four synths plugged in, one to each track with seperate midi channels but without a sequence loaded.
      Arturia need to make this abundantly clear me thinks.
      I am very grateful to you for helping me out.
      I think other newbies are under the same impression as me judging by the questions asked in google.
      Maybe worth a video in itself to make this clear.
      Might just be " old" me though.
      Thank you tons!!!

      Yes that's it 😀👍 The KSP is a controller and sequencer. You can use it to play and control in real time your synths or to record then play "sequences" (=patterns) on your instruments 😉
      For instance in this "from scratch" video, you can see me record a pattern in step mode on Track 3 first, then hit play for it to play for it to play.
      I then select Track 2 and record a pattern in real time, etc.

    Love it. Do you have any tracks available on streaming platforms or a band camp?

      Glad you are enjoying some of my tracks 🙏😀 Haven't yet uploaded on streaming platforms, would like to work on a full album for this (yeah I know it's a bit out of date making albums nowadays 😅)

    I’d really like to see the routining for a live set. Does it all get put into a mixer and then to the front of house? Best way to transport this?

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  8 месяцев назад

      Hi, there are different routing and setup possible, it really depends on what you want to do 😉 You must mainly think about 2 things:
      - How to sync all the instruments? (i.e. defining the master clock and the slaves)
      - How to mix the audio?
      For the latter, indeed an audio mixer is needed.
      In this recording it is my DAW which is acting as the master clock and my soundcard as the mixer (easier when you want to record the audio and mix etc. afterwards). But could easily go full dawless if needed 😉

    Great set! Question. How do you have the Kaoss Pad routed?

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  Год назад

      Thanks Johnny! The Kaoss Pad was routed just after the Digitone. Here's the routing for all the instruments and effects used for this "live set":
      - DRUMS : Roland TR-6S
      - BASS : Roland SE-02 + Pill Pedal (Input 1) + Death by Audio Apocalypse & Rooms
      - PADS : Dreadbox Nymphes + Pill Pedal (Input 2) + Zvex Instant Lo-Fi Junky + Eventide H9 (Dualverb & Ultratap effects)
      - Elektron Digitone + Korg Kaoss Pad + Red Panda Particle 2

    Sick set man. Nice transitions. You probably could have stretched it out longer. Lots of juggling :) Thanks

      Hey thanks mate, glad you enjoyed this one too! 👍 Could have made it longer, but as I initially created this channel to make 2-minute videos, I thought that 16 minutes wasn't too bad for a first "live set" 😅

    Nice live recordings you have, sir! What mixer do you use?

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  Год назад +1

      Thanks Maxim Erased, glad you enjoyed it! 😀 I did not really use a mixer for this live: each of the 4 instruments was plugged directly into my soundcard to be recorded in my DAW 😉

    This is very nice. Are you using the Scenes mode in the Keystep Pro, or just changing the patterns on the fly?

    • @2MinuteWarning
      @2MinuteWarning  4 месяца назад

      Glad you enjoyed it 😃 I've been using both in this set, changing patterns manually and using scenes for example @8:23 😉

      Hi, actually I don't really remember, I think it was a tweaked bass preset 😊

    if everything had it's own effects it would sound more finished..

      @2MinuteWarning ..then it needs more exotic effects.. it sounds like everything is using one AUX effects channel.. there are some really phenomenal choices especially in eurorack, NE Desmodus Versio, Qu Bit Nautilus, Starlab, Magneto, FX AID XL

      So far I've tried to resist going modular (even if I have a lot os semi-modulars like the DFAM, Matriarch, 0-Coast, Arp2600m etc. ☺️) but indeed some of the effects you mentionned which I know, are very cool ones 👍 The most "exotic" effect I used here is probably the Red Panda Particle granular delay.
