    Hi from a new subbie in Canada! 😸After looking at the video list of your projects, I just had to subscribe. These little charms are beautiful...good thing I have been saving packaging and food boxes! Lol I'll be making some of these for sure. I also cut flower & veggie pics from seed catalogues, and glue them onto packaging. I just can't throw away greeting cards either. Punching flowers etc. out of them, recycles those as well, and they often have pretty images. Thanks for the tutorial - and making mistakes is how we learn. Leaving them in a video shows us what NOT to do, so even that is helpful. Lol Off to watch more of your videos! 😺

      Hello and welcome to the channel Anne! I'm really glad you liked the video and that it inspired you. Oh, we can use a lot of things around us, I never throw away anything anymore, lol. And no one in the house is allowed to throw anything unless I approve first 🤣. You never know what treasures can be found in the recycling bin🤣. Thank you so much for subscribing and watching and your lovely comment ❤️😊

    While I was watching this video I had a flashback thought to about 30 years ago when we made earrings just as you are making these charms cutting shapes, gluing or painting pictures on the shapes. Then we sealed our "charms" using clear embossing powder. Great memories and bringing forward the idea to use for a new craft that have just began to enjoy.

    • @Saacibo
      @Saacibo  Год назад +5

      Oh wow, those earrings must have been so special and unique! I used to make these charms to go on a leather string to wear around the neck, but earrings sounds so much better! Thank you for bringing the idea forward. Love it! ❤️😊

    These are really amazing!! If you place a piece of thick card on each side before placing the clips, it will prevent the clip from causing indentations on your charm. Thank you for sharing these!

    I've done some little embellishments like this when I was doing a lot of scrapbooks, but we didn't even think about them being charms! The ones we made were usually about 2" square and didn't dangle or hang, they were randomly glued on the page or sometimes backed with magnet tape and stuck on metal surfaces. So funny, we were so close to a great idea! 😂😂😂 I definitely want to make some of these today and I already have some thoughts to try! I have some embossing folders that I want to try, then lightly ink the high spots to bring out the texture. I also want to cut some little round shapes from the kid's school pictures and make little çharms showing how they have grown!

    Just a quick tip from an older artist. Use toothpicks while applying varnish. Have a piece of flower arranging foam (the sort put into pot bottoms etc.) Stick each toothpick into this foam and let it dry UP and away from everything. You can dry many at one time, depending on the size of the piece of foam. Works great. Fun tips on making these little charms. thank you.

    This is such a cool idea…the charms look really pretty. I like the tip on using the pokey tool to hold the charm when you’re varnishing and the pin to hold it up whilst drying.✔️ I have actually been cutting small circle tags today, so I will leave my set out to make some charms. I am obsessed with making these charms!! I’m also making the plastic card charms using your digital. Stamps, stickers, images, book page - nothing is safe from me cutting, gluing, and varnishing. I even bought some colored mirrored cardstock yesterday to use for the backs like you’ve used the silver mirrored packaging on these. So much fun and they’re all just beautiful. You can buy disposable latex finger cots like little condoms for keeping your fingers clean and also not to add oil from your skin to your projects. I used them when I worked at my dad’s microcircuit company. I think drug stores sell them or buy online. I love your procedure. I want to make little charms from packaging for boho necklaces I’ll also use beads and metal charms on them. 🥰 Minnetonka Minnesota where we are still in a 3day snowstorm. ☃️

      I have actually made something like a finger cots using the disposable gloves we were all using to stay safe a few years ago. You can get four decent ones and one large lol from each glove. Not as perfect as a finger cot but with the cot edge roll down, they stay on pretty good.

    You can still use clips to hold the charms together as they dry. Just make a little protective folder out of some thick enough packaging to cover/protect the charm. Take the piece of packaging, fold it in half (like a small "folder"), slip the charm inside that folder, then clip. This will protect the drying charms from the clip marks. If you still see marks, either get a thicker piece of packaging or add another layer.
    ➡️ OR try using clothespins instead of the metal clips. They hold well but are not as tight so they leave little or no marks.
    ➡️ ALSO, if you already have "dent" marks, sometimes you can smooth or rub them out with the back of your fingernail, or a bone folder, or popsicle stick.
    ✅ (I use all of these tricks, all of the time, and they work very well.)
    And, BTW, your work is very nice.👏
