Thank you. I am new to Indian food and had a taste of Chicken Tikka some time back. As I love to cook, I became intrigued. Where I live, it's hard to find many of the spices used in this cuisine. Thankfully, we have a wonderful health food store near by which carries many of these fine spices. I hope to make my own garam masala soon. Again, thank you.

Thank you so much for your very comprehensive recipe and video for the making of. Garam Masala! I enjoyedmit immensly and I was unaware of all of the varied and tantalizing cacophony of spices that comprise this delicious Masala. Could you please explain the difference between Garam Masala and Curry Powder? Is it just a different name or perhaps a different spice combination or is there something more significant in the difference? I have read somewhere that Curry Powder is just an Anglisization - I hope that I spelled that correctly - of the words Garam Masala. Is this true or is there a different explanation? Thank you for sharing your wonderful and informative video. Cheers!

Wow....mesmerising to watch it being made. Smita you used 12 different spices in your Garam masala, is there any masala which can be made with 5 to 8 spices and is not as spicy as the Garam Masala? Basically a lesser spicy masala which is lesser on 'heat'. Thanks once again.

I appreciate how you taught us how to look for impurities! I had no idea how to clean spices either or what to look for. It is much appreciated! Measurements please. Making it for the first time I need a guide line as to the quantities of each. It is hard to judge the quantity of the items based upon the containers they are in - because I really don't know the size of the containers containing the ingredients. I realize I can tweak and adjust the spices, but that's only once I know what it is suppose to taste like. I'm new to Indian cooking and have only eaten Indian food in a restaurant once. Thank-you!
