Hello my friend, I have a Citroen C5 hdi 1.6, 2007 I changed the brake fluid and I had a problem that the brake pedal goes down when I press the brakes, I vented the air three times and nothing helped. I changed the main brake cylinder and did not get a result and the problem became for me, knowing that before changing the brake oil, I did not have any problem. So I want to ask you what do you expect the problem to be???? Thank you Note: I have no leaks in the brake circuit
I also screwed up my abs valve module .. renewing brake pads and sending contaminated brake fluid through the ABS valving . Pedal sinks slowly to the floor .. and slow brake bleeding symptoms . I also serviced the master cylinder seals . even bought an ABS scan tool with abs bleeding .. nothing helped . CURE is to remove the abs unit and after removing the electronic module .. and pump motor Two screws one long and short . Cleanliness is paramount here . Take a new can of brake cleaner spray .spray it liberally through all of the Valve module connections . Both ways TWICE .. then follow up with clean airline at 60 lb inch . both ways .. do this process twice until the fluid flows freely from all orifices . NEXT syringe new brake fluid through all valve body connection ports ,again followed with air line . Finally syringe fresh brake fluid into all of the valve body ports Making sure there is no air remaining in the valves . Carefully refit the electric module and pump motor . Cleanliness is SOOO important . Syringe some fresh brake fluid into any exposed ports in the ABS valve body . make sure all of the unions spin freely on the connecting pipes .. use fresh brake fluid as a lubricant . Using finger pressure make sure all of the valve body connections are starting easily .. You will not be a happy chappy if you cross thread the pipe connections ... I did it successfully and I am 77 years old . mechanic tinkerer . I must confess then Foxwell NT630 ABS bleed scanner program was super helpful. worth every penny ./ cent . I rigged up four separate jam jars . one for each bleed nipple .. with four snug fitting ring spanners . to allow me to complete the Scanner instructions easily .. OH and you will need at least one litre of dot 4 fresh brake fluid . Under no circumstances allow the master cylinder reservoir to run dry . cos the ABS bleed process will need to be re run . It all sounds complicated but although a bit messy . I hate brake fluid sticky texture .. It is fairly simple mechanicing . Did I mention remove the battery battery tray and fuse box assembly .. sorry I forgot .. there is an excellent video on You tube on how to do that .hang everything out of the way with single core electrical wire .richardwallinger .
Hi could u please measure your oil dipstick from the bottom till the top of the handle as I have the same engine but I believe the dipstick is to short. Please if u can do this for me I will be thankful.
I have a Citroen C5 2006 diesel. Seems to be losing oil. 1 litre every 300 miles or so. No blue smoke or evidence of oil leak underneath engine. Only note thick partly dried/ oily sludge out of a very large rubber hose at front of the engine with a very large jubilee clip. This seems to be the point where itay be leaking from. Could this be blocked causing the issue. Using c2 grade oil. Any advice anyone?
Bro i have a c5 2009 and I have a rough idle and the car stalls only when its cold, after the car warms up it doesn’t stall and there is no rough idle. I just replaced the fuel filter but that didnt fix it. Any idea what the problem might be?
I drive a Citroen C5 103kw 2.0hdi produced in 2010 and I am very satisfied. Lately, it happens to me that in the second or third gear, when accelerating, at some 1700 rpm, the car jerks and continues to accelerate normally. Does anyone have any idea what it might be?

The fleece filter in there was better than the paper one you replaced. My father once ran 70k kms with fleece and it didn't ruptured or clogged.

I had an oil loss like that and was the oil filter that got loose, coukd be squirting at high pressures. It just dripped in the garage floor though.

Heavy carbon at intake plenum, remove intake manifold or borescope the intake valves área.
