I like the look and features of this car. Ginny on Electrifying hates it but I think it looks good. Interesting to have differing reviews of the same car.
Derek, great review as per usual 👌. The one thing that that should be stressed more is the option of 22kW AC charging. This is an absolutely fabulous feature that was only available on selected Tesla model S and some Zoes. IRL this is far more beneficial than the frunk.
Thank you for the first right hand drive review of this car that I have seen.
I believe it shares quite a lot of the platform with the new electric Minis. To my mind I would much rather have the ALL4 Mini Countryman EV. More fun to drive and the interior is less stuffy and more distinctive. Both are BMWs of one kind or another, but the Mini had a bit of pizzaz which this car does not. Then there is also the price difference. £70k, I think not.
Sorry I can’t agree, the Mini has nowhere near the road presence of the BMW in my opinion
Similar spec to an iX3 is more expensive for similar performance and range, but less creature comforts and smaller cabin.
That boot opening is a lot like the old VW
Amazing how unconvinced everyone is about this car.. especially against the far more practical iX3. I think you just have to love it to want to have one.
This has Xdrive and 22kW AC charging going for it - it is also a bit faster, so if these are your priorities and the back seat is usually empty, it might be the roght car for you.

Its crazy expensive! If you spec it up to the same as the iX3 it comes in more expensive for a much cheaper fit and finish. iX3 has a bigger battery too. The iX1 is the same, works out more expensive than the iX3 once you configure it up to "match" the spec.
All the more reason to snatch the iX3 before they introduce the more expensive Neue Klasse X model. As a very happy owner of the pre-facelift version of iX3 I cannot recommend it enough 🎉
It's not about the money, it's about what you want. You don't buy any BMW because they're the best value car around

The BMW iX2 xDrive30 has a Recommend Retail Price (RRP) of £56,540 and an On The Road Price (OTR) of £57,445. The OTR Price includes VAT, first year of VED, vehicle first registration fee, number plates and delivery.

I think divisive would be a nice way of putting it for this car. Whilst I love BMW interiors, tech and driving, if I had one of these, every time I walked up to it, I’d want to walk away again!
I like BMWs new design language. I think it's challenging but I've never been a fan of sport back SUVs.

Guys, the thing about BMW design is that it grows on you. We bought the iX3 2.5 years ago and I have to say the looks was my list favourite thing but I did not even notice the point when I started loving the exterior as much as I love the rest of the vehicle. It will be the same with this iX1 and iX2, and in a couple of years, with Neue Klasse cars

Considering that people are generally getting taller, whoever designed this needs to be fired. BMW have messed this up completely with no headroom in the rear.

Fake exhausts and fake front grill on an electric vehicle look cheesy. This design language is getting old.

Think it’s very smart of BMW to give us the choice, Petrol cars will hold value better than EVs
