Hey does it ever mess up seats? Should it lighten. My stain spreaded and I am afraid to clean more than twice. Doesn't form a light clean spot like yours. Used popular brand saddle soap. Microfiber rag, second time a tooth brush.
My man! Best and most realistic tutorial on leather deep cleans I have found on YT yet! No fancy cleaners or brushes or product placement. You're showing an older, common model vehicle, with real world grime and wear, and how it *actually* comes out afterwards, without a bunch of smash cuts! The amount of detailing vids show "deep cleaning of leather seats" where they show light road dust being carefully wiped from like 2yr old Italian leather on some dude's 200k sportster is freakin hilarious.😅
To fix those scratches in the seat, find some enamel spray paint that comes close to the color of the seats. Dampen a clean, cotton cloth rag with naptha. Spray a little paint onto the rag and wipe over the scratches. They will disapear!
This is was helpful for me because I have an 08 honda accord with tan leather interior and my daughter and my nephews have gotten it slightly dirty but using your method the grime came out easily for me. Thank you
Great method, thanks for posting this! My only suggestion would be at the end, once the seat is cleaned, use a quality leather conditioner to replace the oils the cleaner likely took out. Also adds UV protection. Cheers!!
Also you don’t necessarily need a brush. You can use a scrub pad which works faster. Buy half the time I just scrub with a microfiber towel and it cleans well too. I love the video though!
This seems so simple, yet I never considered just using simple green. And a good conditioner afterwards makes the perfect combo. I'm glad I ran into this because I'm in the middle of a project and the only real challenge left on the agenda is the driver's seat. It's a heck of a challenge, also an 06 and with 150k miles. This is really going to go a long way here a little later this morning as everything else is just about done. I really appreciate this video. Thanks! 👍

Hey just wanted to say that Oxiclean magic erasers and some Armor all leather cleaner ( under 10$ for both) Clean SUPER good, takes some time to get it all cleaned up it took me like 12 hours Becuase I purchased a 20 year old car the previous owner had kids so it was a bit hard but it works SO well, if you have any questions I could even show you proof cuz I haven’t cleaned my front seats yet so I can literally show you the difference. Just comment and we can work out a source of communication so I can show u if u want
I've been sitting on my beige leather car seats for 1.5 months exactly and they look like this haha. That's what I get for only wearing black leggings. Thanks esee 😎👍
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been hired to clean a car and all the other videos I’ve seen were for cloth seats, not leather or faux leather. This really helped!
Do not use any kind of “all purpose” cleaner on leather upholstery. It will dry out the leather, stripping it of all its natural oils. It can also affect the color due to the harshness of whatever cleaner you’re using. On genuine leather upholstery, use a soft horsehair brush and Liquid Glycerine “saddle soap”
And You said all that to say what? So what are you suggesting to use instead to clean them as well as the product and methods he's using in this video???
@@ActivoCompetitive use any apc degreaser like purple power or super clean. And yes dilute at least 2:1 with water you can even dilute 10:1 with super clean. Don’t spray them directly on the leather unless it’s super dirty even then be careful especially purple power can leave stains always spray it on the rag and wipe it
I Use the short tight bristle hobby artist paint brushes to get down into the cracks and grain of the leather and vinyl seats because the larger brushes have thicker bristles and are too long and fold over instead of getting straight down inside the cracks etc,.
Hi Oscar, I’ve seen majority of your videos in regards to cleaning leather, vinyl and cloth. Have you cleaned neoprene type seats? If so could you make a video. Hey Oscar! I use a similar approach on my seats and also hard plastics. I usually use an APC vs a degreaser but I figure the end result is the same. Thanks!
Dude I clicked this video because I wanted to see how you cleaned them because I cleaned leather seats today surprisingly it’s the same exact car you detailed in this video I detailed today
How do you learn how to do polishing, compounding, sealants, ceramic coatings, head light restorations etc. and there are so many products on the market. What would you use an iron remover for by car pro? So confusing. I’m starting a business but don’t know where to get started
I was once where you were, so I understand the confusion. It's extremely easy, but very time consuming and labor heavy. You can learn all those things you asked about on RUclips. I learned the basic concepts and purchased the products that were reasonably price, had great reviews and entry-level friendly. I just paint corrected my car for the first time yesterday after months and months of searching on how to do it and products to use.
You'll get so many answers to this question. Short term, no. Long term, yes. Not because Super Clean. Because if you don't condition it at all, with whatever you're cleaning it, if you're even cleaning it at all, over a long period of time, will have negative affects
The industry has created a cleaning product for every part of the car. I never thought to use an APC for leather. I guess leather cleaners are just a waist. Thanks for this video.
I heard that sometimes certain leather cleaners give off a very shiny and almost plastic result, like it’s too perfect, so I think it’s really just preference.
Oscar, I've never seen any detailer video address this question. Don't you get a build up of the APC or Super Clean on the seats after you clean the leather a few times? Same for plastics, vinyl, etc. I never see any one rinse off the cleaner. Everyone just wipes it off. Doesn't it need to be rinsed off?

Personally I clean it with an apc then use leather cleaner just incase and then hit it with conditioner
you should use a conditioner. This can help to prevent cracks and it will give it a much cleaner look. Just did my Caddy CTS.

great questions- I'd have to make a video on those
I was wondering also. I'm quitting smoking and would love to freshen up my leather seats
What cleaner would you recommend for me to buy for my leather seats? Locally like from Walmart lol and thanks for this video
