Yes the junction are a problem. It runs through a good distance and has multiple routes. This time while riding I had to ask people which route will it go? Coz now they have come up with multiple routes. That is very cool! It helps a lot. I support Ahmedabad BRTS! BRTS in Hubli- Dharwad is a butter smooth system. It was a surprise when it started. It keeps time. Limited stops and All stop buses does help a lot. It is in effect a metro on road. Over the 5 years, buses felt more congested due to not so great maintenance of the air conditioner system in buses, but other than that, it's the fastest transport system available. More cities need to implement this where metro is not feasible financially/ geographically.

BRTS is a massive fail in Pune City cause the roads were already congested. The same cannot be said about sister city... Pimpri Chinchwad which already had wide multi-lane roads with separate service roads planned. Now Pune has implemented Metro... which will surely cause a new problem when it comes to building flyovers on busy junctions lol. I think the habit of solving a problem years after it was created needs to stop for some metros otherwise we are looking at a complete BRTS disaster like Pune city. Unless you build a 50-lane highway everywhere, congestion will not be solved so only if you make driving uncomfortable with correct planning of systems like brts and metro people will find it more convenient to take them and traffic doesn't increase whether there are 10 or 50 people in a bus but it matters if there are 8 or 40 cars. BRTS is helplful even though you don’t actually feel like it. When more people take up public transport the general congestion will always decrease. And if the travel time is predictable by having a dedicated lane almost always people will go for the shortest time of transport. If you say then that’s what metro is for, the cost of building a metro is far far more than having a dedicated bus lane. And based on the peak time you can increase the no of busses, it’s far difficult to remove and add coaches in a metro and usually the metro is costlier

    2) there are other government operated public transport buses that are not part of brts so they block the other general lanes while brts lane remains empty.
Government could incorporate all existing buses into brts thereby saving their own costs of acquiring new buses and both above problems could be solved

Even then the private bus fares are peanuts, nowhere in India can you travel quite large distances for ₹15.
Trams and metros have the capacity to carry more people however, and Kolkata needs to modernise its tram network in order to decongest its roads when it comes to short to medium distance travel.

govt. bus fair is very high compared to private buses in my area. only draw back for private buses is that they aren't air conditioned except Volvo buses
