It's crazy. I'm in Queens and literally slept through this. Building wasn't affected at all. Crazy to see how bad it got in some areas when I felt basically nothing.

Sadly we'll be seeing more of this in the future - Europe got hit earlier this year, so did Japan, China, and many other countries. Other places are dealing with drought, some wildfires, some both. The new reality, regardless of who or what you think is the cause...

WOW! I lived in NYC for 10 years back in 1975-85 and I never experienced anything like that. My prayers and good thoughts go to those affected by this natural disaster.
I'm in ct next door we didn't have flooding like this. The difference is all the concrete water cant go into the ground that causes flooding we need to redo the roads etc and stop using so much impermeable surfaces in our coastal cities and have more surfaces that can absorb water

This latest in a long line of disasters make my glad I don’t live there and sad that there is an extreme possibility that I will never even visit that once great city.

We took a flight from New York to Tampa last Wednesday at 3:45pm. It was probably the last flight to tampa that day that took off without any problem few hours before New York issued a no flight for any destination that same day. I can’t believe this is happening now. We were just there 2 days ago. 😢

Another hurricane is almost at a category 4 hurricane and is close to New York. Right now it is at a 3 on Hurricane Radar.
I didn't watch much news yesterday, so I am shocked to hear that so much death and flooding happened in the northeast from a hurricane that made landfall a thousand miles away. That is insane. And scary.

Sick feeling right. Now imagine if Harvey hit NY not TX in 2017. 50-60 inches of rain on average in 3 days. My neighborhood only got 35" but dozens of other areas had 70 to 80 inches. 😱🌊💧
