Glad you liked the string! I think at the end of the day it’s all mental, it’s whatever you feel most comfortable with inside your head. Thanks for the video, looking forward to the next ones.
Thanks so much for putting me onto it. You’re 100% right - got to find the one that feels the best to you and gives you confidence. Interestingly the more I’m playing with the RPM again the more I’m missing the V-Square 👀
@@camprice99 haha love that! as an aside, I did get a couple string breaks near the top of my frame as well, but I think it was predominantly mishits from what I remember. No more issues after I went to a thicker gauge (1.30mm), but will put a little bit more weight on your racket.
Have you tried Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable? That's sometimes referred to as the ultimate spin string. It's cheaper than V Square too and it's yellow to better match your Pure Areo. I agree that these spin strings don't add much spin, I'm not convinced spin racquets help much either. How does Thiem create so much spin with an 18x20 Pure Strike? Or Kyle Edmund with a 95in 18x20 old school Wilson? Technique. I'd like to see some proper tests with a good player hitting with different racquets and strings and see if there are differences in RPM. My guess is differences would be very minimal between modern racquets using different poly strings.
I was a huge fan of V-Square (17 gauge) up until I wasn’t… lol. I string for my daughter who loves the pocketing and the bite the V-SQR creates on the ball, however, playing in 90-95 degree weather it will stay consistent only for about 2hrs max then the tension will drop significantly. Up until recently I was stringing 2X per week on 2 racquets. This gets old….. our go to is RPM rough and or Lux alu rough but we are still testing alternative setups (less expensive) and fining Solinco Revolution 16L in the mains combined with 18 in the crosses will provide great SnapBack and really good tension maintenance. Will drop tension after the first 30min, then maintain it for about 2X sessions or about 4hrs. (Then I cut it out) Toroline Wasabi w/ Wasabi X is next on our list. PS: having said all this and, after watching your review, I am thinking we should reconsider but this time, try the 16 instead of the 17 gauge…
Thank you for the review, I need your help with a doubt. I bought a whole reel, I'm not a professional player, I'm at an amateur level and the stringing of a tennis racket is presenting me with a big problem: durability. In an intense training session of an hour and a half, I broke the strings of 3 rackets, then in another session I broke the strings of 2 more. Is this durability normal, or could there be another problem?
Breaking that many strings that quick is unusual if they are breaks in the centre. I’d suggest trying a thicker gauge and seeing if there is still a problem with durability.

Thanks 🙏 appreciate good info to know!
