crazy points vs junior with a HUGE SERVE!!!

It's been great to play some practice sets with Max the last few weeks (we are 2-2 at the moment)... Max has a massive serve which is great practice for me, especially on quick indoor courts. Max's game has huge potential and I'm sure he'll find a great university where he'll be able to continue to develop it! Easy to say watching but did you notice your opponent's weaknesses during the match? Feels like you could have targetted his bh much much more, you had success almost every time you did either by way of an error or giving you a short ball.

Really enjoy your videos, shows how brutal it is to even compete at this level. You're doing the right thing by not putting any pressure on yourself. As a few other people have mentioned, key thing for you is adding some variety to your play and spotting your opponents weaknesses and exploiting them - even if it's not pretty you should have been peppering this guys backhand and approaching the net from it as it was just soo weak. All the best,

tough one mate, I think you read your match really well, 2nd set a little passive but it's hard to stay aggressive all the time. I would work on your volleys more, get sharper at the net, 2nd serve he was able to get on top of it, work on that. Another thing, maybe some drop shots to mix things up, special when you are dictating.

definitely need to do more with the approach shot, you let him back into the point. the approach was too safe. not saying you need to paint lines but it has to hurt your opponent more.

Hey man, a little variety to the game goes a long way, sending a drop shot even a short ball to break trhythm could definitely won you more points. Didn't have to be perfect at this level , he didn't look like he will put the every single short ball away. When your aggressive game is breaking trying to go more aggressive usually harms your own game in my humble opinion.

Great match man. You mention that you were struggling to put balls away at the net, and I think a large part of that is where you were approaching to. When you were approaching to his backhand you were winning a majority of the points, especially since he was relying on the slice so heavily. If you think about where you put the ball on approach a bit more I think you'll find a lot more net success. Really high level of play though, keep it up.

Great video, good analysis. It sometimes looks like you don't want to win. You were up in so many points, but due to a tactical mistake, you basically give your opponent the point. Also, work on your passing shots and approach shots (you came a few times to the net with an average approach, even at this level they kill you, imagine in a M15 qualy...). You have enough quality to beat a guy like Pudney 2x 6-2.

Appreciate and like the videos but your getting beat by players that are getting done 1 and 1, by anyone with Atp point. If you can win 3/4 brit tours, g1, g2 and perhaps a g3, you might have a crack at an atp point but at the min its pretty far away as futures qualies are no joke Use Alexis as a bench mark, he walked this tournament with his eyes closed pretty much from the results online

I don’t disagree at all. Going to keep trying to improve and get closer to the goal, even if it takes a long time! And tbh I just want to enjoy the process of trying to improve, and being able to compete on the match court while I still can. Even if I never reach the goal I will be happy I tried to become the best player I can be and I enjoyed every second while I still could.

    1) Loosen up abit 2) Find space on the approach shot, you only went down the middle with a relatively weak shot 3) Make space from the ball earlier on (Especially when moving back) 4) Get better at building the ball and controlling it to their backhand side 5) When playing defensive topspin on back foot - when you go for topspin you have commit to it, push that ball with nice spin deep... not half topspin half flat. 6) Build the point, dont just hit - slow down abit and let the winner or forced error come more naturally. 7) Need to get better at directional control when playing difficult and easy balls. 8) Move better off the serve, get back fast to make space and have more time to load. 9) Work on the difficult balls.

I actually think that was great advice from coach. All the elite players "get strong" not just physically but mentally. It separates the top tier players from the rest with the exception of Rublev. He is a work horse, often considered one hardest worker on tour, but he is not strong mentally. He would win a grand slam if he can get his emotions in check.

Thing is Cameron, right now you got ability. But painful as it may be, ability don’t last. Now that’s a hard mother f&$n fact, but it’s a fact of life your ass is going to have to get realistic about. Tennis is filled to the brim with unrealistic mother f$&@s who thought their ass would age like wine. If you mean it turns to vinegar, it does. If you mean it gets better with age, it don’t. Besides Cameron, how many matches you think you got left. Tennis players don’t have an old timer’s league. You came close but you never made it. And if you were gonna make it, you would have made it by now. Now the day of your next match you might feel a slight sting. That’s pride f&@$n with you. F$&k pride. It only hurts, it never helps. Fight through that shit because a year from now when you’re kicking it in the Caribbean, you’re gonna say Beyondfirstclass was right.

I've watched your matches and your training sessions. Practicing taking the ball early is good but that means you have put yourself in a situation so that you can do that. Every time you have a ball a little bit deeper on your backhand you take 2 steps back to hit it. It puts you automatically in a defensive position and you give up to much court space, you're opponent then steps in and finishes the point or at best you are in trouble and have to defend. You should practice moving sideways or even better cut the trajectory of the ball and step in. You strike the ball well, you are fit and you have motivation, keep it up and you'll get your points!

what a good reflection - I sometimes think, above all the useful and meaningful work we humans usually do, there must be a natural side of us, be it a human or animal one, that must be satisfied (even though we might not immediately know this). Whenever I play tennis, I feel like a little child again, without the hassles and worries of my day to day life, no politics, no heart-breakings involved. I just exist and have the best time chasing a ball and hitting it with my racket. We sometimes need that “useless” things to unwind whenever life gets challenging
