Ladies listen the curl activator will keep your hair moistened and retain length. My hair was growing fast and my hair dresser asked me what was l using on my hair. Curl activator on permed hair forward the few days before washing my hair. Wore my hair in a bun. Never use a hot curling iron on with activator. Great overnight treatment before was day. Do not rub activator into scalp. Apply like the lady did on this video. You will be glad you did. :)
I love this technique and have tried it on my hair and my daughter's hair. What a huge difference in appearance of our hair. I was nervous at first looking at the S-curl name but there are so many vitamins inside of this and it is not heavy on the hair like cream moisturizers. Thank you for sharing this technique with all of us. You are a hair inspiration to all!
Binge watching your video's. Definitely going to start washing my hair more frequently and keeping it conditioned. I always thought that washing once or twice a week was too much but after looking at your hair I see that it isn't
I relaxed my hair like the 1st part of the month. I had no idea that you are to moisturize nightly. You learn something new everyday. I was doing it every few days but with Rosewater, Shea Butter & sealing it with Jbco. New subbie
Hi there!! Well you product layer when moisturizing so your hair should be holding on to the moisture quite well. You may not need to moisturize and seal daily. Thanks for subscribing!!
i just bought Scurl yesterday and i love the new formula! it has no parabens or mineral oil and now contains Argan oil and olive oil! it smells so good
+Hairlicious Inc. Thanks for making this video and reminding me about how moisturizing Scurl is! this is going to be my go too! Should i moisturize & seal daily or only when my hair feels dry?
Sunshine! You hair is looking Fab. I want to thank you again for being one of my inspirations when I discovered hair growth channels here in YT. Although I'm now natural, I still love supporting your videos. loyalty girl.
I've been using the Scurl moisturizer, Barry Fletcher detangler and castor oil for the past year. Mix in a spray bottle and apply to the new growth. My hair has grown a several inches in the past year. This mixture also came in handy during the pandemic since I haven't had a perm since February 2020. I spray in on the root then work it through the hair as show. Good job and thank you for the video.
I love your videos and my relaxed hair is growing and healthy thanks to you. Your hair is gorgeous and cant believe how long it is. Thank you for sharing your knowledgege with us
My hair has grown.....about 6-7 inches! l was looking for your moisturize and seal video. I have the S curl product, so I will definitely use that!! I just watched another one where you use the I Am leave in moisturizer and then oil.....I've never used this process hefore, but iust started today!! The more the merrier ❤
@HairliciousInc I was not doing the seal with moisturizer and oil.....just hot oil treatments or deep conditioning....I imagined using this process would be too heavy on my hair, because my hair is not coarse and fine strands too!!! But I did do it for the first time on yesterday, and it was not heavy at all. I used S-curl and Amla oil!!
I keep finding how to moisturize your hair but how do you moisturize your scalp? I want to make sure I am also keeping my scalp good as well. Thanks for the video
Thank you for sharing this S-curl video! It’s life changing for my daughter hair dry hair and mine too! our hair is so soft now! I get the S-curl Gel too! It’s sooo moisturizing 🙌🏾❤️❤️❤️
1-2-3- simple is better long healthy thriving hair. love your method. old school still works, curl activator or Blue Magic do what works for you. I do this but seal with Blue Magic and Braid Spray.
Ok, after watching this video and reading the comments, ladies I am ready for the S Curl journey! 😂😂😂… tired of my hair breaking. S curl has been ordered & will arrive Sat. Will be sending updates Sunday or Monday. Thanks everyone for your amazing and honest feedback!!!!! 🙏🏽 #hairjourneyrestart
Hi I to have recently in the last few months incorporated S Curl in my hair regimen. I replaced my conditioner with Aloe Vera juice and S curl after I shampoo and I don't have a lot of frizz now. I am loving it and my hair is loving it again. I use to cold wave(Jeri curl) my hair for almost 20 years and my hair loved it then and the worlds of curls gel activator I may have to revisit that also. So a few months ago when I revisited S curl ,my curls seems like they remembered and started to really curl. It's a staple. I use the LCO method and my hair stays nice and moist and its not greasy even with my DIY eco-syler-custard thats the O in my LCO.
Ima have to find that S curl spray. I love my aussie leave in conditioner spray with my qp elasta moisturizer and seal with my oil or some grease 😂 i still use grease it always saves and helps my edges
Congrats on starting your hair journey! The original Scurl can be found at some local beauty supply stores (it's pretty hard though), Amazon and on the Lusters website.
What state was your hair in before you did this moisturizing and sealing step. Was it freshley washed and air dryed or was it ?days old flat ironed hair...what was the starting point? I wish more people would explain that in their videos.
Hi Mrs Licious! What about ladies with dry scalp? I am moisturizing with BB oil moisturizer, olive oil and applying a leave in and its still dry, itchy and flaking on me. How do I get it back right? Thank you! Your channel has helped so much ♡
I only Shampoo once a week but my hair stays moisturized till I wash. I have been natural since 2010(started Texlaxing 2008) transitioned till 2010 cut the texlax out. Have been natural ever since no heat, color or dyes its a journey but I just love twists and natural styles. Still working on my wash and goes to get them the way I like them. Also love Clay rinses and prepoos they make your curls really defined
How often do you do this? How do you maintain your hair through the week as far as keeping it moisturized... I want to straight my relaxer as much as possible and I’m scared putting allot of oils will weigh my hair down and putting alot of water based moisturizers will make it curly
Thank you! A solid regimen, sticking to products that work and consistency. That's pretty much it. I can do a video on what worked for me, if that helps?!
+Hairlicious Inc. yes!!! Please!!! I have naturally thick hair, so with care and consistency, I'm sure I could see some length retention. I currently wear weaves and haven't relaxed in two years. Any thoughts on doing research to find someone to do a virgin relaxer for me?!? I'm scared!!! Haha
Hi my name is Shaun I been natural 2 years I'm finally following your website I love it a lot the coolest thing is we both have the same hair type 4b but I have a question? is it better to just finger detangle my natural 4b natural hair because my mom told me I have to comb my natural hair with my wide tooth comb can I finger detangle and use my Wide tooth comb at same time I want to maintain length my goal is to grow my 4B natural hair down to tailbone length please help 😓😑
Hi Val, do you ever curl or flat iron your hair while S-Curl moisturizer is in it? I’ve used this product since I was a teen but never for heating styles. 🌸 And your hair is as beautiful as you.
I bought the s curl moisturizer activator and already had hair oils. I was using a cream grease and my hair was always so dry...I saw your video and I have to say that so far the s curl works really good...I'm happy girlllll. Thank you bunches
+Gemini Peterson thanks I didnt lnow that. I did look up the new formula and it looks better but there is still a little more junk as contents than id like to use close to my scalp but I will consider purchasing for moisturizing and sealing my ends. thanks!
Been a fan since before I went natural and still look to you as an inspiration for healthy hair! I literally just bought some scurl...good stuff! Great video!

I love how it's thick and long now. Also do you not moisturize ur roots? Bc for me the drier my new growth the harder it is to detangle. I have 4C hair though.

great video, love the thickness of your hair
Thank you very much!
You are the first person to teach me how to moisturize and seal! I am proud to be one of your original hairlistas
Great and easy tutorial! I started using the s-curl no drip way back when because of you, and haven't looked back! Thanks! xx
Thank you for watching. I'm happy to hear that it's been working for you. I love it.

That's right. I don't like the new formula and I find the smell is pretty strong.
Oh okay. 😔 i like it
+Gemini Peterson that's awesome! Honestly I really tried to like it but I just didn't work for me😩
+Hairlicious Inc. Thanks for making this video and reminding me about how moisturizing Scurl is! this is going to be my go too! Should i moisturize & seal daily or only when my hair feels dry?
+Gemini Peterson I say listen to your hair at first and then you'll know whether to moisturize daily or every other day etc.
Discovered you recently and I’ve already watched ALL your videos. Love love love you and I’m ready to grow my relaxed hair now.
I used to use the S curl activator as a moisturizer. It works great. A lot of ppl don't know about it.

This product grew my hair so long. I have low porosity hair and this product is perfect!
It was definitely a fave🫶🏾

Just wanted to confirm when moisturising chose either the s- curl or the as I am so much moisture?
Does the moisturizer make your hair frizz if it's flat ironed or completely straightened?
If I should ever relax again, I will try this. All this the answer right in front of my face. I couldd've been retaing length better.
mochacream I know right
I just found you today ......please help me grow my relex hair . It breaks like crazy .

Beautiful grade of hair......and the thickness! One thing I wish I could achieve.

Hey beautiful, can I use these products on dyed relaxed hair?
Can I do these exact steps with scurl just after washing my hair and air drying?
Happy New Year, great video
Thanks Hun!! Happy New Year to you and your family :)
Thanks! Happy New Year :)
What is the best protein treatment for thickness?
wow i like this hair straight but still full. definitely my hair goal. did u texturize?
What about your scalp do you just use a moisturizing oil on that or do you moisturize and seal that as well
I love your length and hair so glad you didn't cut it and follow the naturel hair way your hair type looks the best in this way
I only Shampoo once a week but my hair stays moisturized till I wash. I have been natural since 2010(started Texlaxing 2008) transitioned till 2010 cut the texlax out. Hi how often should you moisturizer and seal your hair? Once a week, twice, three times?
Whenever you notice any dryness, moisturize it. Start with once a day. Then you will find your rhythm as to when your hair needs to be moisturized.
i have been looking for a video like this for so long!!! thank you!!
thank you for making this video. hair goals!!!! so beautiful
I love your hair it's so beautiful and healthy
How often do you air dry your hair? If ever.
You are natural beautyDo you have advise for meI have straight hair neck lenght i whant it to growmy hair from behind is always stiff

Hi Val, do you ever curl or flat iron your hair while S-Curl moisturizer is in it? I’ve used this product since I was a teen but never for heating styles. 🌸 And your hair is as beautiful as you.
Does it say it’s a heat protecttant
I bought the s curl moisturizer activator and already had hair oils. I was using a cream grease and my hair was always so dry...I saw your video and I have to say that so far the s curl works really good...I'm happy girlllll.
Thank you bunches
Grease does not moisturize. So glad to hear this!!
Do you still use this moisturizer?
Love the background track...
I loved s-curl back in the day before I got educated about dangers of parabens. so glad it still works for you and others.
The new formula contains no parabens, no mineral oil and has argan oil & olive oil!! it smells amazing too. i found mine at Cvs for $6
+Gemini Peterson thanks I didnt lnow that. I did look up the new formula and it looks better but there is still a little more junk as contents than id like to use close to my scalp but I will consider purchasing for moisturizing and sealing my ends. thanks!
Do you moisturize and seal everyday night?
Do you use this on your new growth as well?
Where did you get your shirt from ?
Been a fan since before I went natural and still look to you as an inspiration for healthy hair! I literally just bought some scurl...good stuff! Great video!
But the old s-curl is better than the new formula I think
Awww you're so sweet. Thank you for being so loyal. I'm glad you like it.
in this video is your hair air-dried, blow dried or straightened with the flatiron?
Hi. Im new here. I just started my hair growth process and would like to ask how often do you relax your hair??
Your hair is gorgeous. Where did you purchase the scarf and bonnet set?
Thank you. I get them at the beauty supply store but I’ve linked the exact ones in my Amazon store.
I installed box braids after relaxing my hair. Should I take out each braid & do this process then rebraid it back ?
No. I would spray the braids with the moisturizer. Lightly mist it so that your hair doesn’t get dehydrated underneath the braids.
where did you get the original s curl from
I love your tips I will try that
how do you have so much new growth in just 12 weeks!!
hello. how often to you was your hair and deep condition? ur hair is beutiful
Great video! Do you still relax every 12 weeks?
Yes I do :) thanks for watching
Great video. Thanks Sunshyne!
How can you tell what hair type for relaxed hair? is it same way like natural hair type? I need to know how to figure my hair type. Thanks
It's the same way a natural would find out. Just look at your new growth. That's the best way. There are a ton of hair type charts online i.e. Hairlista, Pinterest, etc. do a quick search and see :)

As for moisturizers, it's all about trial and error. Are you relaxed or natural?
I am relaxed and trying to start a regimen. I would say that my hair is APL. I am not sure about its porosity but my hair gets frizzy quickly.
Can I use this method durning the winter since it's like a humectant?
Where I live it's winter and I don't change my moisturizer.
Does the S curl no drip spray smell good? Or does it smell like the ol skool jerry curl juice from the 90s?
The changed the formula and it has a nice scent.
I love how it's thick and long now.
Also do you not moisturize ur roots? Bc for me the drier my new growth the harder it is to detangle. I have 4C hair though.
Yes I do moisturize my roots, I just didn't show it in this video. I have another video on that :)
I don't know if you'll read this msg, ny i'll ask anyways. Do you have any tips for growing out the nape area?
What’s your advice on single braids? Is it okay to do single braids when your hair is relax? How long should you wait after a relaxer to single braid your hair with extensions & how long should you keep single braids in for?
Thank you :)
Hi. I've been looking at your videos (new subbie). I wish to put some effort into getting healthy hair. I was suprised at the S Curl moisturiser as that was something I would see older folks using long ago. After watching this video I went out and got it with the jojoba oil...lol. Question though, you said you use the moisturiser every night; do you also use the oil every night? I tried but found it to be a bit too heavy or my hair was a bit too wet or oily. I don't like stringy hair. Granted, my hair surely isn't as thick as yours.
On that note, could you also explain hair porosity to us? Lol.
Thanks in advance!!
do you suggest that this can be used on natural 4c hair?
+Erica Elliott You can have a 4z hair type .. Afro textured hair need moisture.
Absolutely!!
Yes I have 4c hair I tried everything for moisture 😍curl activator is great!!!
please respond
I've had short hair for nearly a year now... it seems like it won't bug to even grow😞 what should I do?
+Norah L thank you
Hey Hun. Are you relaxed or natural? What is your current regimen. Do you know your porosity level?
I'm now natural and my regimen is spraying water into my hair then putting coconut oil into it everyday washing my hair every two weeks and having a repair mask once a month and (I think) I have low porosity level
I'm texlax I do it once a year love you videos new subbie
Can you seal your hair with Grapeseed oil? I have 4c relaxed hair.
Sure. As long as it agrees with your hair :)
Can I use coconut oil instead?
NO! It's NO Where NEAR the same.
Are you still using the S Curl?
Yes, I am. The new formula.
I’ve been natural for nearly 3 years and going back to relaxer. Do you start this moisturise and seal process the first day after you relax? x
That’s right!!
@@HairliciousInc whaaatttt!!! … u wash then style cause to much moisture could wreck havco
I have a relaxer in my hair but when I use the moisturize and seal technique my hair is always flat and stringy. What am I doing wrong?
What moisturizer and sealant are you using?
did you just recently trim your ends? they look great
I haven't trimmed since September. Thank you.
OMG I love your hair 😃
Awww thanks hun
Do you still use it ?
How long hv u been in d hair journal
Since end of 2007
This is very helpful for me thank you 😍💖💯💐
Hello, I am a new viewer. What is the reason you don't wrap your hair each night? Personal preference or...
emeraldc83 I wrap my hair only when it’s flat ironed to preserve the straightness. That’s it.
You should do voice overs or ASMR you have such a relaxing voice.
Is this still your go to moisturizer or are you using something diff now?
I still use it but not as often. Lately I’ve been loving the As I Am So Much Moisture lotion.
