Donna, I am making an “Almost a Lone Star” made entirely with Matt’s hand cuts. I will NEVER use jelly rolls with pinked edges again. Sewing with the Matt’s hand cuts was a dream, so easy to use. Just wanted to share that tidbit. I’ll share the top when it’s completed. Thanks again for sharing your time and talent, I’m going to make this runner into a quilt, I have so many left over jelly rolls.
I belong to a Facebook quilting group and every time a new quilter asks a question, I always refer them to your RUclips channel and tell them that you are the best at what you do. Have a great holiday.
Its so fun to follow your clear tips in cutting and how to assemble the cut materials and the result is a very nice design I am 88 yrs old and enjoy following its a therapy for me so that
Its so fun to follow your tips in cutting the materials and then assembling to a niçe design. I am 88 yrs old and following your tips. I eñjoy quilting and is enjoy as therapy for.me Thank you very much.
I’ve never heard of this technique, but am eager to test it out. This mostly scraps table runner is the perfect project on which to try it out for myself. Thanks Donna!!!
While I am a beginner, this is the first time I’ve heard about turning the underside to a slight angle on any of the RUclips channels. Thank you for the tip! I can’t wait to try it!
I've been quilting for years and am proof you can learn something new every single day!! Did not realize that the slight turn would help with any possible shifting while quilting. WHO KNEW!!! LOL
I have been making quilts for 20+ years and I absolutely love watching your videos. You are a wonderful teacher. I learn something new every time I watch (angled backing). The tips you give and/or even when you don't sew something perfect and point it out (uneven stitch in the ditch) are also helpful for beginners. It encourages them and shows them that their quilts do not have to be perfect. Thank you very much. 🌹
Woke up this morning (Maine) with snow on the ground, got my cup of tea and surprise!! This is the first video that appeared as I opened my iPad! Seeing truly is here even tho it’s 24 degrees out with snow. Such an awesome treat. I especially loved seeing how this looks with different fabrics.......very helpful. I chuckled often while watching as I was reminded of a large Easter basket on our table filled with a riot of colored Easter eggs. The source of the eggs was our four boys. Yes, a riot of color. To all, enjoy your Easter and your families. 💝💘💝.
Another video from Donna! Nothing goes better with my morning coffee than a quilting video from you. Great tip about the backing at an angle. I had no idea! You explain every step so clearly that I feel my confidence rising with each video. Thank you!
Every video I watch I think how nice it must be to own the store and not have to worry about the cost of fabric waste. I’d love to just have your scrap bin! Or your scraps from your scrap project!
Donna, every time you go to the machine i just drool at all the bolts of fabric behind you. I would love to work with all that fabric! Hahaha thanks for all your free patterns and great tutorials!
Thank you so much Donna!!! Watching your tutorials has improved my quilting ten-fold!! Bless you and your wonderful family & The whole crew at Jordan Fabrics! 🙏🙏🙏
Love love your quilts. ! Thank you . You make it so easy to learn . I’m. 66 I just started sewing period. And I’m in love with quilting . I just wished I’d started many years ago . Thank you again .
You are so wonderful. Of course I love all the patterns you come up with, but the way you show us how to do it is so special. I have learned so much from you and I can't thank you enough. Once I can travel again, my friend and I want to come to your shop and meet you and shop til we drop! Thanks again. You are the Julie Child of Sewing!
This has always been one that I love seeing how you used up your scraps. I’ve been watching the new video’s you’ve made recently and they’re all so clever instead of just plain. You always do such an amazing job.
Now that I've watched both videos I have a better understanding about putting the "sandwich" together at angles. Makes sense. Thank you again, Donna!! :-)
It’s a shame we can only enter the giveaway once Donna. Thank you for your great videos and the confidence you’ve given me. I find quilting such a joy ❤️
Donna, you are a whiz! I love this runner. Love the way you present things and move right along! Wow! What a tip to put the backing on crooked! You're the greatest 🤣
Donna, you inspire me so much with your video tutorials. I used to watch my great-grandmother and grandmother make quilts on the wooden frame as a child and now that we have such nice machines available (my birthday present this year was a Juki Exceed), I have begun creating my own projects. I hope to enjoy many hours of my hobby in my retirement. Thank you for what you and your team do for us! You are a great instructor!
Donna, thanks so much for sharing your talent. I 've been a Quilter for 3 years and you have been there all the way. This Runner I would like to make into a Twin size quilt. Thanks again.
Hi Donna... I am Noer (66) from Indonesia. I am in love with all of your quilting design, and of course the way you show the tutorial in details.. So so so much in love. I like sew since I was a little girl, and finally those hobby was beeing my way to live by running a small boutique for traditional/modern Kebaya and party gown. Nowadays, because of the pandemic, not much customers came. So I have much time for myself by watching your videos, and that was very interesting. I hope you don't mind when I plagiate/copy your designs.. Thank you so much Donna... Wish you all the best.. 😍🤩
Lovely pattern with endless interesting combinations. Would look just as good in coordinating fabrics too. Thank you Donna. Greetings from New Zealand.
Wow, I noticed you now have more than 480,000 subscribers. That is fabulous - congratulations on your well-earned fame!! And thanks as always for your generous giveaways. Fingers crossed - I love the colours on this one (and in the tutorial table runner!). ~Diana K.
Donna, You are so clever with your tips and so generous to offer free patterns to us, especially at a time when so many of us have lost our jobs. I look forward to every video. Each one a bright spot in the day. Happy Easter to you and your family and team!
As usual, a great tutorial. Love the repetition. You may not see it like so but it definite helps. Visual memories are tools. Seeing your fingers scramble over the cloth, the way you effortlessly use your nails to guide the reverse seam under the foot, the expertise of how you guide the cuts under the needle, the dancing of the joining the block pieces, the suave turn of the hand to reinforce the way the pinwheel 1/4 block is turning, all of this is reassuring. I do that, and that, that’s a new trick, have to take a note of that.... The way you use your pinning technique is equivalent to a sword Kung Fu master fighter. It is comforting to know that you can aspire to perfection paying attention to your tutorials. I miss a couple a shots of the binding techniques. Should include a couple of shots of those, like how to cut, join and apply stripped binding. A note on your choice of cut. When you start I think they're awful. But then, as the tutorial progresses I come to realize they were good choices after all. How I’ll be able to accomplish that, bogles my mind. Love the surprises you always pull of the finish projects. A shout out to “Spielberg’s” cam-man, unsung hero of the final edit. Congrats.
Love this scrappy pattern! ...and yes Please! to the Kaffe Fasset quilt giveaway :). I loved your tip on placing the top and batting at an angle for machine quilting. Who knew? I have learned so much from watching your awesome tutorials.
The twist and shout was one of my absolute favorites! So excited for a chance to win that amazing quilt! Loved this video so much, all of your tutorials are so clear and concise, thanks again!
Overall, I am SO enjoying your tutorials. Some of the best explanations I have found and believe me I need to learn a lot. Really like the tip about offsetting the backing and I can't wait to use this method. And this table runner looks beautiful!
The pattern is always the second link. This is a very creative use of scraps. We all deal with those and it can get overwhelming for sure. Thank you for the free pattern, Donna.
OMGosh, that advice to skew the backing is fantastic! I have an old machine, can't drop feed dogs, and even with a walking foot, still struggle to quilt. Can't wait to give this a try!
Donna I know there is a lot of work goes into doing this videos for us. Thank you hope you and your family has a nice Easter, I know your table will look great with a runner on it.
I love the scrappy look and I was so excited when I heard you say to put the batting and top at a slight angle on the backing for quilting. I have been frustrated many times with the quilt top shifting when quilting on my domestic machine because I wanted everything perfectly straight! I am very anxious to try this - I make a lot of table toppers/runners so this was a great tip for me - thank you!
S I so enjoy it when you show videos like the above one which i might have missed or forgotten about. I have so many scrap now and this video has given me ideas how to use them. That you so much for the free pattern. And all your tips and tricks and all your encouragement. 🌻

That turned out beautiful as always. Have never heard of slightly skewing the backing. Will have to try that. I learn something new on most of your tutorials. You are so real and down to earth, you makes us feel so comfortable, not intimidated , to try a new pattern or technique. Thank you for all you and your family do. God bless. Stay safe.

Buenos días sus vídeos me encantan , pero a veces tengo problemas con la red para la traducción , pero aún así Profe lo.hace ver muy fácil...
Just gifted my first quilt, and maybe this is why it was so puckered.
Quilting a quilt sandwich on a slight angle... so not on straight of grain. Genius👍👏❤
I like it too. It was a good news for me.
I’ve never heard of this technique, but am eager to test it out. This mostly scraps table runner is the perfect project on which to try it out for myself. Thanks Donna!!!
I love so much how you design your own quilt blocks and then share them with everyone. You are a treasure!

I made a almost full size bed quilt from this block. It was so much fun to make. I used all scraps and stash I had in my sewing room.
