Let's say, Persona 3 with FES cutscenes, P3P gameplay and FeMC route, some QoL features from 4 and 5 and The Answer included, that's my ideal Persona 3 game
You can already have all that on PC except for the FEMC route by emulating the game and getting the P3HD mod, seriously people if you got a PC then forget about P3P just emulate P3FES, it looks crispy as hell in 4k 60FPS.
I remember a mod for FES that allowed you total party control as well. Though it has been a year since I played it

A simple fix to include The Answer is to just unlock it after completing male MC's story, and label it appropriately.
since the exploration is limited, they could probably have it be a side mode, like Cindered Shadows in Fire Emblem Three Houses (the player can even create a new MC for each playthrough of Cindered Shadows because skills can't be carried over, they could just do the same thing for The Answer)
They should've make the answer a post game like in p5 third semester, but you need to max agis confidant to play it. And carry all the stats, nyx level requirement could be lower to accomplish that

I think the main reason why the protagonist could even use multiple weapons in FES was to make up for the other party members still being AI controlled, so you could still have consistent access to their weapons
Hence, why it was strangely cut in Portable, because everyone can now be controlled manually
Sadly since they removed it weapon master did not really make a sense

Having just finished Portable I think they need to completely overhaul December because there is damn near nothing to do due to the school break and SEES not wanting to go to Tartarus anymore. Add to that there's only like 3 social links you can do at night time and it just feels like padding where all progression grinds to a crawl.
I definitely found myself just sleeping through the last 2 months. No way to increase your own or your friends stats or just discover random stuff like the maid Cafe in persona 5
I agree. You should at least be able to hang out with Mitsuru to make things easier for SL completion in January.
@@Marika_ER if you go to the arcade at night you can increase some of your personas individual stats. Str, Mag, and Agi. That was all I did the last month or so at night.

One idea I had for a potential P3 remake was to rework the Koromaru walks to be similar to the bike trips in P4 Golden: where you could bring a party member who'd then learn a new skill that they wouldn't normally learn:
For example Yukari could get Myriad Arrows, Jumpei could get Power Charge. Mitsuru and Akihiko could get the Megido skills, Koromaru could get Evil Smile and Ghastly Wail. Atlus could look to the party member boss fights in the Answer for inspiration for the bonus skills
The real Big Brain move by Atlus would be acknowledging P1 and P2 exist
That'll probably never happen - Some of the crew which worked on the first two games have left the studio

They put P2 costumes in 5/Royal. They also put P1 stuff in, and pretty much nobody cares about that.
They'll never do that, Atlus nowadays is only about Persona 5.

They really need to rerelease those for the people who are curious because right now the cheapest way to play persona one is to buy a Playstation Classic for $94.
If Persona 3 ever was remade, they would definitely need to overhaul the Male MC’s social links, as they’re very weak in comparison to FemC’s (especially Moon). Knowing Atlus it wouldn’t surprise me if they only remade the Male MC side of P3, now that Portable is available on modern consoles.
From what I search what you said about "Knowing Atlus" part that is what the rumors suggest that be the case but that is assuming the rumors are true in the first place anyway.
P3 really strikes me as an example of poor forethought for it's S-Links. Most of the MC versions of the male party member's Links are basically just non-character stand ins that really are better off just being skipped, but then the FemC's route is forced to put Shinji and Akihiko's links in the wrong slots because the Emperor and Hierophant are already actual characters, and wastes a slot on Ryoji, who while a great character is doubling up with Pharos. I really think it'd be better if they just did a Jester/Lust kind of thing with Ryoji and Pharos, where you start with like a "Nameless" arcana and then after the reveal it turns into Death or something like that
Why everyone seems to dislike P3 social links?
I personally find them fun, primarily Kazushi, the fortune culture club prodigee, Bebe, Kenji as it's funny to see his situation, and i mean the scene when you are cleaning the room because of the cultural Festival demonstrates a good side of him, and i think if P3 male mc would have social links with S.E.E.S members it would be strange, or at least it would hinder your gameplay progression a lot, as you wouldn't be able to access their Arcana persona till December, i mean putting it this way would be cool i guess as you don't have something to do on December, so having a social link with Junpei after you really turned friends with him discussing how to fight against Ryoji could be interesting, same with Akihiko, koromaru doesn't need it, as he basically has a social link already, you can probably even alter this sorta of social link to make so Ken appear more on it.

@@constantanxietyattacks6878 P3 was the first SMT game with Social Links as a concept so there were a fair few flaws, like many of the mechanics in the game. You can see the improvement to many systems when P4 released.
Akihiko and Shinji being Star (Hope and Self Confidence) and Moon (Fear and the Hidden Sides of people) respectively in FeMC's path actually fits in with their personalities better than Emperor (Control/Dominance) and Hierophant (Education and Obedience). Which is why they didn't replace the Student Council President and Old Couple.
I understand the criticism of the persona 3 port, personally this port is what allowed me to play it for the first time, so I'm more forgiving of it. But I don't doubt I would feel the same way if I had played P3 before this release.
While I'm glad for you, yeah, this port is pretty meh. Honestly I'd advise most people to just emulate P3P if they really want to play that specific version. PPSSPP literally runs on a toaster.
This is my first time playing P3 too, but I decided to emulate P3FES instead after buying P3P.
I’m kinda enjoying both, but the thing that drives me away from P3P is the audio, if they fix that then I would probably like it more.
@@VioletMilks the thing kinda putting me off of emulating FES is the fact you can't directly control party members. That just sounds really frustrating for the sake of being frustrating to me.
@@pokekiller787x frustrating, it might be in the start but mid-game it gets pretty enjoyable and if you like farming the AI helps a lot with it, just do not use Act Freely, focus on Knockdown and Full Assault, Mitsuru literally never uses Marin Karin on these options, one thing though there are some Tartarus boss fights where it would be easier for you if she hits Marin Karin, specifically one with the Knights, oh and abuse the weapon fusing system, and try each weapon to see which you like more, also try to make the elemental ones they are pretty good, and abuse knockdown, and try to not get ambushed I guess, always scan enemies even bosses, as the allies will know their weaknesses or what elements they null/resists even if it doesn't appear to you.

For the remake I would like to see the SEES members getting 3rd tier Personas since they're the only ones to not get them in their expanded versions. You would get them the same way as in the other games. By talking to them during the final month of the game. And they would also have a skill that's unique to them. Yukari would have a skill that fully revives all fallen party members, Junpei would have a skill that casts power charge on the entire party, Akihiko would have a skill that casts all stat debuffs on all enemies, Mitsuru would have a skill that casts mind charge on the entire party. Aigis would have a skill that casts heat riser on the entire party, Ken would have a move that makes the entire party immune to instant kill spells once. And Koromaru would have a skill that inflicts heavy fire damage on all enemies but hits them all with Sukunda.
Really well thought out list that fits everyone. I especially like the Koromaru skill

@@handles_are_idiotic P4G did it first. Full credit to them there too, the skills given for the third awakening were actually pretty useful and thematic. Naoto's shield made me very happy because it actually let her realise her goals to protect Yu and the rest of the team. Kanji's universal knockdown is also really fun to just throw out.

I mean if you get Messiah on P3 you are way stronger than Nyx so...

In persona 5 royal , in that lounge thing where u can play cards with users. U can actually watch a couple persons concerts . So yea nyarly is right they can put stuff like that in
100% agree with everything you said. I'd also rework the social links so you can max them without going into a relationship automatically. Letting the player choose like in P4 and P5 makes sense. You could still go down the harem route, but you can choose to max your links without engaging in a single relationship as well. More options are always good!

If we get a persona 3 remake I definitely want better social links (like they did in 4 and 5) I find it annoying that you can’t max the social links out (for potential romance partners) without others getting jealous and having to be intimate with them instead of being friends if you don’t wanna date that person
Also, no automatic forced romances. One thing I'm VERY thankful for in 4 and 5 is letting the player choose who they want to romance, and knowing me, I'm a commitment guy, so I always go for 1 girl per Persona game. Romanced Ann in 5 and Rise in 4. 3, however, you're automatically forced into a romantic relationship, despite you wanting to answer in a platonic way, because you like someone else.

I feel like it’s important to mention how atlus made new p3 character models and settings for the dancing game that they could just reuse. Maybe expand on the social links to allow you to visit their rooms so those exists in p3d too

And that's precisely, why I doubt Atlus would include the female protagonist even IF a P3 remake turned out to be real. It would probably take much more effort than Atlus is willing to make.
17:45 that sounds incredible. Imagine you could watch full movies with random commentary with the person you are watching. Similar to the random dialogue in Mementos.
there's a tactics memory option in the config menu for PS2. something i'd like to add on to this theoretical version: direct commands option is fine, but i'd honestly like them to keep the expanded tactic commands list from FES in addition. even in games like dragon quest where it defaults to direct orders, they still have a good set of tactic settings to play around with. once you've learned out how the AI works you can consistently get the results you want thru just the tactics and it honestly becomes really addicting. a lot less repetitive menu inputting as well which is nice.

12:08 About that, you can edit the settings to turn on tactics memory to keep the command assigned to each party member. I never tried it as my game and emulator kept crashing before reaching the first few Tartarus blocks.
I agree with everything you said. Also, thanks for calling out the lack of Junpei and Akihiko social links. Junpei is understandable for at least not having a romance link for FMC, but he still could have had a standard link.
I know this probably wouldn’t happen, but I would quadruple dip for something like this.

(PSP) Persona 3 Portable was my first Persona game!
Other than the obvious things, I have two main things I would want from a remake.
1. Let the male protag reject female social links. I find it baffling that Makoto can't just look at a romance option and be like "yeah, let's stay friends." Especially with the other two games letting you do so. Just let me get my max social links run without me feeling like a scumbag, okay?
2. Let me finish Shinjiro's social link without getting the watch. I love Shinjiro so much, and I love the social link they gave him in the Femc route but... man if only we could keep the development we see in every link and still keep intact what happens to him throughout the game.
The easiest one for me is some allusion to all the novels. Imagine old documents of sorts, with say, special outbreak shadows that happen randomly or with the regular mini bosses that feature content from all the supplement material, like the Strega midquel or the Shinji prequel, al within the game itself. Maybe even granting you access to them through the computer in the chairman room?
That, and also other stuff, like the audio dramas being available with subtitles (or dubbed, who knows) or in the form of some diary thingies: In some guides for the game, Portable if I recall correctly, the characters were introduced by giving the reader a look into their "Facebook" page, think of using the computer in your room to scroll through their pages and read their entries that are based on the dramas, or just to know a little more about them, including some pictures and fun interactions in DMs like in Catherine.
Just anything that expands and includes all the content seen in supplemental material that is either unaccessible or unreachable by most of the community.
What would I want from a Persona 3 Remake:
- fully voiced protagonist
- both MC and FemC route
- overhauled Tartarus
- more demon's/personas, more social links, demon recruitment like in P5
- playable party members of course
- optional bossfights against other Persona and SMT protagonists, maybe even entire parties.
- more music, anime cutscenes for both MC and FemC
- Burn my Dread as the opening
That would be my wishlist.
No femC. That decision on P3 P was a mistake. A female protagonist should be in their own game as the sole protagonist i.e in Persona 6

@@unicorntomboy9736 But it was a good decision to add a female lead that way everyone could enjoy the game. After all, the protagonist is meant to represent you so it would only make sense for female gamers to play as themselves instead of being forced to play as a guy.

If you ask me, what I would love in a remastered version of P3 would be for it to have both MC and FeMC, allows you to control your allies in battle, has the FES extra story, and skill selection when fusing... Besides the obvious stuff like better graphics, etc.
Well.... its not exactly the definitive version since its missing some things from FES and Portable, but... Reload is really good!! Also, we're probably getting the Answer as DLC. Rip Kotone.

8:29 while that reason is probably A factor, I think the reason likely comes down to compression. PSP games are relatively small, and fitting all the anime cutscenes would’ve likely resulted in worse quality for something else, like the music. They likely wanted to balance the quality of the assets, and they needed to cut the anime cutscenes in order to do that.
the thing that contradicts this tho is the fact that there's mods that exist which added the FMV cutscenes back into portable
best part about it? it works on REAL hardware

I didn’t say it CANT work, but that the PSP UMD couldn’t fit all of it without needing a second disc or some type of additional download
@Pie Studios my point here isn't that it's mods, its the fact that if modders could get it to work on real hardware which keep in mind, they don't even have P3P's project files yet they were able to successfully then it doesn't make sense why ATLUS couldn't do it.
and as far as i know, there's a chance that it could've fit through a UMD disk (as i'm sure there was still some empty space left in the disk) but then again they could've also easily made the cutscenes avaliable as a seperate free download from the PSN store if UMD limitations were stopping them.
Hot take: I hope they keep tarot reversal (reversing a social link). I know it's annoying when it happens but honestly I think it's kind of cool and realistic if you blow someone off too much you can piss the off. Also keep the exhaust system. Again I know it's annoying getting kicked out of tartarus but it's pretty realistic and relevant to the story that you can only be in the dark hour for so long before getting tired.
I respect your opinion, but as someone who only played portable I would probably hate the game if I couldn't explore tartarus for as long as I want
I distinctly remember P5 having a lot of complaints sbout people not being able to play how they wanted due to story and needing to sleep.
Not to mention one of the Links litterally gets rid of tirdness so after exploring the grind Dungeon you can still do things.

Definitely which is why if they do a remake of P3 probably do dlcs with and let's say a 2023 release or next year for example I am not going to be surprised if they do it.
Having a remake on the same system as a port of the original isn't bad. If anything, it allows people to choose which version they want to play
Concerning the cell phone games, Atlus recently released the Last Bible: New Testament cell phone games on Switch and Steam. If they still have the codes for those, it may be a safe bet to say that they have the codes for the P3 (and other MegaTen) cell phone games too.

I would also want the male protagonist's social links to be reworked to have all members of S.E.E.S. as social links, replacing their respective arcanas (and moving Chiriro to the Hermit Arcana to keep it canon with Persona 4).

Honestly, just normal FES with direct commands and better graphics would be more than enough to me. I feel including the Femc would take a lot more effort than atlus is willing to make.
A P3 RM would be 🔥. I hope they add like an extra bit of content as well for us who put over 200+ hours into P3P. It should also come without mentioning that it would be cool if they added all the features that made P5R amazing. Social links vs Confidants also, I feel like the difficulty of min maxing which days were appropriate for each link vs another was kind of tedious and I literally couldn’t do it without a guide. I like the flexibility of confidants more to be honest.
Something I want to add would be a new secret boss, the demi-fiend

Honestly, if you're gonna include the anime cutscenes, the best route would be to literally remake them so then you can include the female protagonist. But of course this would be harder, as you'd have to LITERALLY REMAKE A BUNCH OF ANIME-STYLE CUTSCENES IN MODERN ART STYLES!

Great suggestions for the ultimate edition! Personally, I prefer the map / VN-like navigation to free roaming, which I usually perceive as filler and timer wasting in many RPGs, but I could live with it - also, I suppose it wouldn't be too difficult to include both variants and give the players the option to choose.
I'd want them to remake P1 and P2 duology before they do P3. And there's plenty of SMT that I think should be ported or remade before they think about touching P3. Like the eShop is closing next month so I think it's a great time to capitalize on that with the PQ duology, SMT IV duology, Strange Journey, Soul Hackers, and the Devil Survivor duology. Or the other PS2 era games, now that we have P3, P4 and Nocturne all we don't have is Raidou and DDS. Or the plenty of more obscure games pre PS2.
I understand that P3 was the most requested remake but at the end I still think announcing a remake after getting a port is not a great decision. It's not like FFVII where they gave us the original while they were working on the remake because it was taking forever
How do you know it’s not like FFVII? That could be exactly why we got the ports for all we know.
It'd be extremely difficult to remake P1 and P2. They'd have no previous assets (instead, they have all the P3 cast from P3 Dancing), so they'd have to build everything from the ground up. They'd have to either add, or have no social links (which has become a basic concept for the Persona games), and change some plot points like Hitler. It's definitely possible, but a P3 Remake is more probable.
The DS/3DS games could do with an actually good port for modern consoles (switch because nintendo) and PC at least because they aren't too old aside from raidou and DDS on the PS2. What really needs to happen is a full english translation of the SNES or PS1 versions of the first 3 SMT games (should throw in megami tensei: old testament for OG megaten). All we ever got was an IOS port of the GBA version of SMT 1. Nothing for SMT 2, If, and old testament outside of the fan translations. Yeah, they're harder to manage then modern megaten but we need it for game preservation and so everyone can legally experience the beginning of the franchise. Probably won't sell well if they do make them because of how old and difficult they are so they would need some quality-of-life enhancements that can be turned off at will.
@@rafaelploumis8682 also, since P1 and P2 are so drastically different from P3-5, like no social link, daily life sim, dating sim, etc., there's no guarantee that newer fans who've never played them would be interested or be turned off from just how different they are. They could start with P1 but depending on the sales and feedback, they might not even remake P2 duology. Or heck, could even turn it into the modern style persona games but the games would loose its essence.

I feel like everything here is pretty reasonable. Only thing I MIGHT consider changing is that the Aigis Mission story be turned into a sideshow/Short anime unlocked after you finish the main story. Similar to the Kingdom hearts collection having 358/2 days and Re coded, both DS games, turned into Upscaled Movies
what I'd like them to do for a P3 Ressurection (to keep in with the theme) is to replace Kenji with Junpei for the Magician arcana, or even have 2 different options to social link with, example would be for the emperor or Star arcana so you can chat with Akihiro and the moon arcana for Shinjiro instead of champion eater boy; and then either change the dialogue in operation babe hunt or change it because it's really awkward now. FeMC's route didn't have to deal with it and nothing of value was lost. Maybe throw in an execution animation because the half-baked dual attack they used in P3P is so sad compared to what we have now should they decide to remake it with new models

Honestly, not really. It's FEMC only for one thing so it makes it more unique for her playthrough. Also if we ever get an answer for the FEMC, I would like to see them make Shinjiro the playable character instead of Aigis. it would create more deviation for FEMC with MC.
But the more important thing for me is what kind of plot holes are they creating in the first place?
It’s not really a retcon or plot hole if it’s an alternate universe from the male version
Shinjiro's death is integral to the plot, themes and motivation of characters. Even if it's an alternative universe it's a gayer universe.
Honestly I don't think a weird frankenstein's monster of FES, Portable, and new assets made to look like PS2 assets (assets made for an engine that has been dead for ten years) is the play at all. The game just needs a full on, from the ground up remake.
I think it's probably the best route, though the most unlikely as well. (Although if they do so, I hope they do a few changes to the Tartarus so it's no longer just a set of boring procedurally generated corridors.)
Honestly this, why would they remaster p3 in an old engine from a decade ago when they have hd assets from the dancing games and the engine from persona 5

Something I didn't realize until beating the persona 3 portable port is that new persona fans will have no idea what happened to the protagonist. You learn that they died in the answer and their soul became a door. The game ends with the protagonist sleeping on Aigis's lap as their friends come to the roof. You can assume that they died but you can't say for sure without The Answer
The only thing I dont agree on is the weapons. I always liked portable making the protags have a set weapon, makes it so everyone has their unique thing. I know it doesn't really but in my head it was cool
I think the reason the police station sells Aigis’ weapons is because they’re likely getting connections for the Kirijo group. And likely the reason it updates is because they are developing weapons for her because she is active again so resumed work based off old research.
I'd love to see persona 3 remake unfortunately I can't see it happening anytime soon unless atlus decides to surprise us

Realistically, I think patching Portable Remastered to fix the AI upscaling, audio issues, and typos left in the English text from the PSP version would be the best case scenario at this point. Also add in manual skill inheritance, and maybe a video player with the PS2 cutscenes unlocking when you reach where that cutscene would have played in the story. But my biggest wish would just be a stand-alone port of The Answer for $10-$15. Japan got a stand-alone version for PS2 alongside the original release of FES. I don't imagine it would be too hard to drop the English localization in, drop it in the same Unity wrapper as Nocturne HD, make sure it actually works, and call it a day.

I think that the fusion spells should work like Downshot in Persona 5, it’d be a good way to balance it if it’s once per infiltration that way you need to be careful using it.
I'd say make the Light and Dark elements like in SMT4 A/5 Standard spells of their element with a chance to insta-kill based on whatever. I'd say here, the instant death effect would only activate on downed combatants. This would also mean introducing the dyne-tier versions of Hama and Mudo from SMT 5, and lets make Die For Me! and Samsara severe-tier damage.
The dyne versions of Hama and Mudo were in Dx2, not SMT V

I just want P5 Arena or even Persona 6. I don't think Persona 3 needs to be remade and I like FES on my PS3 as is. Hell I'd go as far as to say I'm tired of remakes in general. We've had an overabundance of remakes in the past few years and I prefer playing games that can offer new stories and experiences.
And while I don't believe the rumors of a P3 remake or the Akechi game, I'd rather the Akechi game be real because it would be a brand new story we haven't seen before.
Well for the time being, people will just have to emulate FES and play Portable on whatever console they own. But it would be awesome to have an ultimate edition that has the best aspects of both games. Though for now, it’s a pipe dream.

@@flushete2352 Indeed, it would be like removing the Temple of the Ocean King from Zelda Phantom Hourglass, yes a lot of people complain about the repetition of that dungeon, myself included, but there's no way you can have Phantom Hourglass without it, as it's essential to the game's plot. But a rework would be nice. Not just floor distribution, but do something to make the floors look more diverse. Tartarus just looks so empty and boring to crawl trough. Even the first person dungeons in Strange Journey are more interesting to me.

@@flushete2352 I agree, just improve the randomly generated floors, the problem is not procedural generation itself, there are plenty of examples of it being used in amazing ways. It's just that the way it was used in p3 left a lot to be desired to me. But it can be improved, it definetly can be improved, specially with modern technology.
Maybe they could set up Tartarus like how they improved on Mementos in Persona 5 Royal.
A lot of Persona 3 assets were already remade actually, in Persona 3 Dancing.
And Persona 5 Royal with all the P3 related DLC.
If there is something I’d like to see differently, is I’d like to see them have increase the skill slots to 10 moves but that’d probably be too overpowered, or maybe skill cards for your teammates, but they’d have to be at a set percent rate from enemies/chests that way it’s not too exploitable and they have to be at a certain level to be able to learn that skill, and have that character involved to be able to obtain it easier as it makes it more rewarding. That way it makes it new for teammates who may not have the best skill sets and it’s something new every time instead of the same thing overs and over.
Maybe also bring back the way P4G+5R did with teammates learning new skills from certain events (bike rides from Golden or the Jazz club from Royal as an example), but more expansive.
Do keep the skill accessories and the traits from Royal as that was fun to use.
And maybe as an odd idea, items to be equipped to yourself or teammates that can help boost a stat during level ups or even swap stats around.
I know this may not at all likely happen, but it’s something to think about.

I think for the voice cast that should hire Kyle Mccarley to voice the protagonist Makoto Yuki. His youthful voice would suit the character purfectly. Be voiced 9S in Nier Automata, among other games
In the original game Makoto was voiced by Yuri Lowenthal, but he is probably too busy playing as Spider-Man/Peter Parker in the Marvel's Spider-Man games now
The only person who'll probably be recast is Fuuka, who ended up being recast with Wendee Lee in DIM

8:40 it was disk space. psp's umd disks are limited to about 900 mb single layered to 1.8 gb dual layered, while ps2's dvds are 4.7 gb single layered, 8.5 gb dual. even with chd compression to remove all the padding fes is almost 3 gb, while portable is around 850 mb.
I thought the anime cutscenes were cut out because of the limitations of the psp or something like that. They should’ve put the anime cutscenes in the male route if they could :/
But it would make the female route seem unfair, like how it's not fair that only the male route gets the anime cutscenes while the female route doesn't have them, it's almost like Atlus doesn't treat her as special. I can imagine new comers having that kinda reaction towards having anime cutscenes in there.

@@alfie4234 I'm talking about the new comers who've never played the original version or FES and thus, they don't have any knowledge or context of what FES was like.
They shoud've done something like Monolith did with Xenoblade Def Ed. It runs and plays the same, but theres new features story and better graphics with some qol.
What I was expecting them to do was, make a P3Fes but with the Portable elements included (like femc, direct command for team mates, friend social links, choosable skills on fusion etc)and some.

If Persona 3 has a remake I need:
-Fix the social link system or put the persona 4 social link system for both protagonist.
-More activities beacuse I fell apart of the social links, increase your social stats there is nothing else to do.
-Persona 5 mecanics like batton pass, social links rewards, change party members in middle of battle etc.
It'd be cool if as you rise Tartarus you get more versions of mass destruction when you battle enemies.
Something i would want in a persona 3 remake is that the protagonist level goes back to level 1 in new game plus because in the original your level stays the same it was when you finished the game, wich when you think about it makes going to tartarus in ng plus kinda pointless.
While I understand not building the game from the ground up, I imagine, like what many fans and modders do, Atlas could kitbash the game together, using the same engine as Royal, similar to what Pokemon used to with their remakes

If they were to remake P3 I'd want them to go all out:
P5 graphics, all the recent gameplay additions and systems, new Personas, etc.
And to be completely honest, and I know this won't ever happen but just imagine if it did, I wouldn't mind them giving the first 2 games the same treatment.

It seems like Persona 3 Reload won't have the answer or femc route when watching the trailer. I think its just gonna be a remake of p3 original. maybe they'll have the answer and FEMC route as DLC which i would not be surprised. Or (and this is even more unlikely) theyll make like a whole "Persona 3 royal" from the remake and have that stuff, although that would be super stupid.
I agree with most of the stuff in the video, I would love every single one of those changes a lot. But one thing that I feel that portable has done way better is that you can REJECT people in social links. I always hated in FES that every social link with a female character will lead to romance, I find it kind of uncomfortable as I don't see those characters like that at all. On the other hand it would be nice if the FEMC had better romanceable options, like, c'mon, one of them is dead (which they tried to fix by making him come back to life, which I highly disagree), two are a freaking entity and one is a CHILD, that is just so wrong.
There's also the fact that there are 2 other male student Social Links that would be great romance options for the female protagonist and the perfect balance with how the male route has romance options for the female party members and two non party member female students you bond with. It just feels weird that here, while they're not exactly forced romances like in the male route, they still fall for you with no romance option and the game labels it as a friendship route. Aigis has this same thing too in the female route, which BTW, that could also be another interesting romance route in the female route as many people in the Persona fanbase really wanna see LGBTQ+ representation in the series and being given the option to date everyone regardless of gender.
just wanna say that there definitely is a system in place on steam to give discounts (or even free upgrades!) to customers of previous titles. It's something indie devs sometimes do for sequels and iirc Dark Souls Remastered also used this system. Just like steam has a system in place for microtransactions too, so there's no excuse to not port popular mobile titles to PC (no it doesn't make hacking any easier than android already does).
One thing I want is for a remake what uses the modern stuff like gun, kouha and eiga skills because I want to give koromaru gun- and the eiga skills so he can use both of his magic and phys stats (they are really similar, if I remember right)
I've got some ideas about this but I'll say my expectations or hopes have gotten loftier since more evidence is coming out continuing to point at a full remake happening.

-FeMC returns
-anime cutscenes back in, even if they're fully redone for both routes
-The Answer included as a watchable epilogue in chapters
-obviously party control
-fusion skill selection
-more nighttime social links (or at least better scheduling)
-perhaps a more robust social stats system like P5 had
-(I'm gonna get hate) but Shinjiro and Chidori dead. As much as I love Shinjiro, being able to save these characters in P3P diluted the strength of the story.
-transmogrification of overworld costumes both inside and outside of Tartarus
-the ability to rewatch cutscenes
-music player of some sort
-social links for all SEES members regardless of protagonist gender (should go without saying but no romanceable Ken this time)
-Evokers usable as weapons similar to P5
-maybe some expanded social link levels (some of them felt like they were over in 30 seconds and nothing meaningful happened)
other than that I'm hard pressed. But I will say two things I'm worried will change that absolutely shouldn't:
-the soundtrack. Don't rerecord or remix the songs (or if you do please do an in-game option to toggle between new and old soundtracks so people don't need to mod it in...because we will)
-Evokers no longer being used (this is a big one because of the suicidal imagery and increased sensitivity to that these days)
I'm playing P5 on xbox because that came out first. Should I skip P3 and play P4 instead afterwards?
