Although I think most people agree with the fact that remastering the psp version of the game was a pretty dumb marketing move. I don’t get why they didn’t just focus on making the full blown remake, and remastered the portable version which compared to FES is meh. So the player base who already completed and experienced the game may feel reluctant to buy it since they’ve already played P3 once. But idk that’s just my opinion.
I imagine there are people that still never experienced Persona 3. I'll be honest and admit, I have never played P3, my only experience with it was reading the P3 manga from a friend and watching a fan dub of the first animated movie, and thats it. P3 reloaded can be someone's a gateway into the series. So it's not a bad thing.
Knowing that it's a thing only made me not want to play Persona anymore if they're just going to release inferior games then what's the point I'm not buying a whole console just to play a game I already own
Still, it would be foolish to think they would just ignore P3 when it has such a dedicated fanbase and interesting concept. It's ripe for a remake and breathes more air into Persona and MetaTen. Now it's only a matter of time until P4 gets a remake too.
“Why would they remake a game they just ported?” 4 month later during Summer Game Fest: Altus employee accidentally leaks Persona 3 Remake on Instagram. If only he knew…
Funny thing is I just bought this port on PS4 along with the port of P4G, completely unaware that there were even rumors of a P3 Remake, and the very next day, an Atlus Employee leaks P3 Remake on Instagram. I hate my life…
To be fair, I’ve only played this port once, at 5 in the morning, on a plasma tv with the volume turned down, so I haven’t heard the crusty audio for myself, but the fact that it’s crusty at all makes me so glad I didn’t hear it before finding this review. The only complaint I had during my first play session was the quality of the 3D cutscenes. Specifically the protagonists Persona Awakening cutscene. The models almost look like they come out of Mario 64 when blown up on a plasma tv.
@@gamebrojoe There are some mods to fix the major issues, but at this point, just emulate FES, you get a game for a free and also you get a full persona game instead of a half persona game + 1.99 visual novel.
I bought this on release day. As soon as I heard that terrible audio from Yukari during the tutorial fight, I knew you'd be making a video about the state of the port lol
@@n2badsam420 it sounded like this old Anime site I used to pirate anime in early 2012 and the sound quality of those shows being in Standard Definition sounded EXACTLY LIKE this port's audio
That'd be a remake at that point, not a port. Very different from a budget pov. I would definitely have preferred that, but I'm not surprised they didn't go that route.
I repeatedly rewatch the Orpheus awakening scene just because it's so cool it's disappointing that it and the other cut scenes are absent from the pc and xbox ports with no alternative to the portable version on these platforms.
My theory as to why Portable was chosen over FES is because of the company that made RenderWare, was bought out by EA. So they would either have to pay EA, or put the game through another engine, like with Nocturne. Edit: February 7, '23 Some people don't understand that what I said was just a theory (don't say it). Those few need to relax, it's just a video game
That could also explain what happened to the Grand Theft Auto "Definitive" Editions, which this review made me think of. I'm not saying P3P Remaster is as bad as those games were at launch, but...
to add on to this, this could also explain why games such as Sonic Heroes haven't recieved modern ports (due to the fact that it was on RenderWare) since both SA1 and SA2 got modern ports on Steam
That and having FES being able to let you control your party. That right there was a turn-off for me for the original. I know people are upset over the cutscene but playing an RPG and not being able to control your party is stupid
@hue_Tjark that's why I prefer portable. If I can't control my party why play. I play videogames for gameplay. Sure I miss cutscenes but I can look it up no biggie. If I cared enough about stories I'd watch TV or read a book. Gameplay is a huge component that games need to focus on
@@LTDLetsPlays You’re not serious are you? Tactics suck in this game, whether it be Yukari only using her single heal when full heals are necessary for the Party, Mitsuru using a status move even when the enemy is close to death and doesn’t resist Ice, Nyx putting up Moonless Gown in the middle of the Party turns before one of the members kills themselves despite knowing what the Gown does. You can say it works but you know what other combat system works? Sticker Star’s. And it’s still a bad combat system. Somehow Persona 3 did worse though, because at least you can control what you do in Sticker Star. It doesn’t matter if your fine with it, because objectively, it’s bad game design, especially since encounters depend on brain dead party AI to be challenging. There’s a reason Party control has been kept ever since the first Dragon Quest till today, while P3’s nonsense is seen as shitty.
10:40 Actually, the idea of Atlus doing a full remake after releasing portable would perfectly fit into Atlus' typical behavior of making you buy the same game two years later only upgraded, and at full price again :^)
God yes. P5 was my first persona game. Spent like a hundred bucks on dlc only for p5 royal to come out. Didn't buy it. Not gonna buy it. Probably done as a persona fan because of it. Which sucks. Atlus always makes me miss peak tri ace days for some reason.
@@vayneglory655it's almost a completely different game tho lmao. I think the original is better. But the amount of changes they made and story add ons make it worth buying if you liked p5.
@@aregularlink5470 Thought they would wait a little bit longer so it wouldn't be as blatantly obvious, but they sure proved me wrong. RIP anyone who bought Portable ""HD"" lmao.
There are already some good mods out there like added cutscenes which is nice. probably going to get the game and add that mod. I am fine with the portable version just because I like the added features compared to the other versions. Though I would have preferred fes upscaled just because the image quality looks better.
I think the P3 problem stems from both versions offering different stuff. P3 is ont of those games that could really use a remake to incorporate everything both versions had to offer and build around it. I'd review the social links so that MC can befriend the other guys (same with FemC and the girls and also review that creepy Ken relationship) and also make it that you can opt out of getting in a relationship for the max level. I'd add the ability to manually transfer abilities and a couple bonus demons for good measure. More QoL update, make sure the manual party control is in is there, maybe a bonus dungeon and some compatibility between the main game and The Answer (like transfering stats and compendium, but rebalancing the difficulty if you import your main game's data and expand the max level limit accordingly. ... Yeah, that would be good, but it'd require Atlus to rebuild the game from the grounds up and it doesn't seem like they've been too keen on that since the 2000 (Kyuyaku Megami Tensei comes to mind as one of the best remake they ever did, and that was back in the 90's on the SNES) but I'll credit the 3DS era with one thing: all games they ported there were enhanced ports with additional content. P3 is really the odd one with two very distinct "final" versions. I'll agree with you that those who think a P3 Remake is on the horizon are coping hard. It's what the game needs, but I don't think we'll see that for at least a good decade and lots of pressure from the Japanese fanbase, which is unlikely to happen seeing how Japanese people are raised to not stand out too much or express negativity. Hey, maybe they'll port DDS or the Raido games next? It's not like they announced P6 or SMT6 or anything else coming in a near future recently...
The other problem is that remakes are much more expensive and time consuming to develop, compared to the past. Remakes need new engine/programming, UI design and gameplay changes, new/reworked cutscenes and music, plus re-recording from previous VA. There are cases where remakes made questionable changes to the old narrative, which sometimes don't sit well with the audience. Taking into account Atlus size, it's better to use the time and resources onto new projects.
It's actually criminal that they made no effort to do this game any justice to make a quick buck off people who have no better sense. were not getting a P3 remake. This is it, and it's so dissapointing it's not even funny. This game *needed* a definitive edition. or just have both versions on steam or *something* because this has be the WORST release in a while.
I am so tired of remakes / remasters. I'm glad to have P3P available for my Switch now, but c'mon... fresh material please? Stop remaking games and spending so much time on it.
I really think they should’ve made a definitive version with both the FeMC route and gameplay improvements and the 3D environments and animated cutscenes.
@@selfloathingweekly yeah that bothers me. Especially since (allegedly) they’re using mostly the P3P script. Now obviously including FeMC as dlc would be an unreasonable endevour. But they should have planned to include her to begin with. ESPECIALLY if they’re using her games script anyways 💀
I remember reading somewhere that one factor that may have gone into the decision of porting P3P over FES is the fact that FES runs on an engine that was owned by Criterion that no longer exists, because of this, it was probably safest and eaisest for Atlus to port over the portable version as it would most likely require must less work than converting P3P to Unity or UE
Man I love the Persona games and I was so hyped to play 3 and 4 with high res textures but as soon as they revealed 3 to be the portable version I was so devastated.
@@talesvinicius598 the only criticism I’d make of it is that they could have altered the fes version for this release. But given that they’ve released three games across several platforms in a matter of months i can cut them slack for just taking the easy route
The marketing makes sense. They plastered femc all over the anniversary marketing. Granted, they also did that with p1 and 2 protagonists, but people would complain how they port fes and there's no female mc.
Definitely feel a lot of your frustrations. I’m not gonna lie I’m having fun going through Persona 3 again for the first time in a while. And as someone who only played FES, I’m glad to finally try Portable at last. But god, this re release was so shoddy and barebones. Yeah, I may not have quite as good an eye for ear for some these audio issues or shoddy up-rezzing. But it still sucks that they’re there at all. And they really couldn’t at least have added manual skill selection? Or the same difficulty options as 4 Golden? That alone would be such a good quality of life update. As for FES or Portable. Ok, I’m not gonna lie. When choosing between the two, I would pick Portable. Full party control is automatically enough to make that the less frustrating version to play and I’d take FeMC over The Answer any day. But I hate that P3 still exists in a state where we have to pick our poison. If I play FES, I get the better, more immersive presentation, but I have to deal with cruddy AI and a lacklustre slog of a bonus campaign. In Portable I get better quality of life, less RNG BS and social links for characters who REALLY should have had them in the OG. But I have to deal with hugely downgraded presentation. Sure, I find Portable better to play NOW. But would I have liked P3’s story as much if I hadn’t experienced it through FES first, cutscenes and all? I don’t know. And yet, lots of people will be playing this as a first exposure. P3 absolutely deserves a definitive edition that uses FES as the base but adds Portable’s content and fixes. If Hyrule Warriors could do it, why not this? But to get away from hypotheticals, they could at least have put more effort into doing Portable justice. But they only did the bare minimum. As it stands, like you say…at least it’s only 20 bucks…sigh.
The saddest part about the downgraded graphics in P3P is that the big emotional scenes have a lot less impact. You can hardly even call it a VN when there's not even any CG art to visually emphasize an important moment, just portraits, text, and the same pre-rendered backdrop from start to finish.
While it's not relevant for the English-speaking audience, I think it's good to mention that the P3P and P4G re-releases did include new translations to German, Spanish, Italian and French. That's already a huge improvement in terms of QoL changes. I haven't played this remaster but I agree that low resolution did a lot back in the pre-hd days to merge characters with the backgrounds, since both of them were pixelated. I think it's a shame that they're always so quick to remove the pixelated look as if it any solution were good as long as you don't see the squares or something.
It's a shame it's not considered the best way to play P3. My ideal would basically be based on FES, but with the Portable QoL changes. Also the FeMC stuff, though for where the anime cutscenes would be, they could use in-game assets with updated models or if they were willing, do some anime cutscenes. I did buy the game alongside P4G, but to be fair, I also don't have a way to play P3.
@@theimortal1974 I'm doing almost the same as you but I dont know what new moon patch is. It's my first time playing so I plan on playing FEMC since I did buy portable after I finish The Journey in FES.
@@iguessthisismyworkaccountl8437 I don’t see how it’s worse than playing the original portable. This version has some rather useful quality of life changes, which are mentioned in the video.
I've heard this from bubbletea's P3P video but P3/F uses Renderware from what he said and it's engine that was bought by EA and taken off the market for use so even if Atlus got the FES files they couldn't easily work with them
it's not that it got taken off the market. EA still said they'd honor existing contracts for RenderWare (which i'm sure ATLUS still has) however they wouldn't be selling it anymore because they stopped support for it. basically the Engine itself is obselete with no updates coming to it which is why it probably wasn't used as they're is most likely no native support for modern platforms for an engine like RenderWare.
Nocturne really is new game in old game disguise, they basically just code a new game with Nocturne assets. like Rockstar using Unity for San Andreas remake.
Also worth mentioning, the base P3, P3FES, and P4 games were made on RenderWare, which is partially lost and what's still there is in the hands of Electronic Arts, who haven't shown any intention of using it for years. P3P and P4G do not use RenderWare. I'm not sure if Nocturne used RenderWare (I think it did), but if so they fully remade it. Now, why not, you know, build P3P from the ground up on Unity or something? I don't frickin' know. It makes me all the happier to actually have this game on original hardware. At least P4G runs well enough.
Even P3P's opening animation is designed so that you can watch it upside down on your PSP, and therefore, from the female protagonist's point of view. Imagine trying to flip your monitor or your TV screen.
Wait....there still isn't manual skill inheritance?! When it came to perfecting higher level personas, I swear I spent more time rerolling than actually fighting with them.
@@omegaweapon116 You aren’t wrong. I’m just the kind of guy who spends hours going through fusion calculators to look for chains of fusions that give the best final results. It took me at least a half hour each to get my ideal Thanatos, Odin, Helel, and Satan personas in FES. Then days of grinding in Monad. It wasn’t necessary, but making overpowered personas is most of the game’s fun for me.
to be blunt, while I'm still annoyed at that, the only reason I even CARED was because SMT3 Remaster had it. They SET that expectation and still undershot. No one was expecting Atlus to care enough to go out of their way, but they did.
Lol, "Some people think that since portable got the remake it means a remake is in the works, which to me comes off as cope." Crazy internet theories: 1 Guy with a RUclips channel: 0
Not only did they not give us what we were all asking for, which was a mix of FES and P3P, they didn’t even do this port properly. Let’s not forget that this was part of the 25th anni celebration and after seeing how amazing crisis core reunion is, I can’t even put it to words how I’m feeling as a big fan who grew up with the series EDIT: honestly don't really care whether you wanna call it a remake or remaster cause it's pretty irrelevant to the point I was trying to make. Also if you truly believe that crisis core reunion wasn't well executed and didn't do the psp game justice then please, put your tinted glasses away and maybe get your eyes checked as well :)
The smart decision they should've gone through is rather than remastering FES or Portable, yes they should've mix the game into one *Definitive* edition who inherits both the pros of both games
@@gumi_twylit2605 You cannot look at Reunion and tell me it's "just" a remaster. It's on a whole different engine with new models, voice acting, and altered gameplay. Would you call Demon's Souls just a remaster?
I guess it depends on which you played first. I played P3P first and it was my introduction to the Persona series as a whole and have loved every single one since (and those that came before). I picked up FES after seeing it at a bin sale and loved it as well. Running around the actual world was great. Either way, I agree they should have at least combined the two. Heck, maybe even limit P3FEMC to the portable version (for those second playthroughs) if they were crunched for time. But a merge between the two absolutely should've happened, though I'm also fine with what we got because it's the P3 I remember and loved.
I heard that they chose P3P because it was easier to do so due to P3P sharing the same engine as P4G. Which I don't even know if it's true or not. But it does make sense? Since they'd have an easier time by just looking some of the code they used for P4G to port the game over.
I’ve not played the original Persona 3 (portable or otherwise). I’m devastated by the audio and UI issues. I think Feez wasn’t ported due to ease of portability and the Fem MC. It likely would’ve been closer to a remaster than a port at that point. I’d be excited if they have been doing a remaster tho I don’t have any hopes of it being confirmed at all by this XD
You’ve mentioned that anyone would be better off playing FES, and that’s exactly what I did. This remaster is the first Persona 3 experience for me and I spent hours on it even tho I was so disappointed bc I knew what FES is like. Eventually I couldn’t handle it anymore or tell myself “at least it’s only 20$” and now I’m playing FES on my Laptop.
Same thing I did, played p3p for about 8 hours on my vita a couple years ago, and couldn't get into it. Ended up going back and playing FES after a year, and was hooked from start to finish
Yes it's a definite waste of your $20. P4G on the other hand is worth it and heck, it even goes far beyond with what you paid for. It's a bargain. I'd imagine you were expecting the same quality game for paying the same price
@@thelaw_00 Sadly this is true. After the couple of hours that I had spent on P3P, I’m not happy to say this but I wish that I had bought P4G instead. I would’ve def enjoyed my time a lot more with neither regrets nor complains
I do wish I could play FES with some of the qol that p3p added (praticularly the control of other characters and the tired form battles thing gone) though what I wanted p3p fes all the content and better visuals
Man, I really wish there was just a version of FES, cutscenes and all, but with the addition of FemC. Her story hit harder and gave the party members more development through the social links. Also more Shinji content, the best boy.
I’m glad I got the ps2 version for 20 dollars at my local game store a couple years ago. I’m pretty sure it’s doubled in price since then, though. Still, 40 dollars for a 20 year old physical copy isn’t too bad. If you still own a ps2, I’d recommend getting it if you can stomach AI controlled companions.
Ya no especially the fes only shit I rather play this shitty port & watch the fes only things on RUclips then deal with ai partners fucking me over & causing unnecessary game overs
This was my first P3 experience. It wasn't as bad as it could've been. I didn't really notice the AI upscaling issues. One thing I did notice was the audio weirdness. A lot of battle quotes seemed not to play; I've never even heard any party member, including the MC, say the name of their Persona when using attacks. I also thought the point-and-click visual novel was how it was meant to be; it wasn't until later that I found out that was a P3P thing & that the PS2 versions had 3D roam + cutscenes
Welp if that's the only issue then it's fine, but goddamn for someone like me who has played FES. The bug on split and destroy shadows bugged the hell outta me. Now none of them are gaining EXP at the same rate. I waste more time grinding each of those characters alone than doing social links, status, and etc.
As a kid, I played FES. I still have access to it and enjoyed it so much replaying it again more recently. The only thing that I got the remaster for is to play with a friend and play the girl route. But I could not explain the moment booting it up and not seeing the opening scene when playing the male route. That scene got me hooked as a kid, and even when watching the movies when they first came out.
This is my first experience with Persona 3. It's funny I was hesitant to play it because it was old and I didn't think I'd enjoy it, but I have actually really enjoyed it (though I agree with your criticism). I only have the ps5 to play on so it's really the only accessible way for me to play.
The whole "P3 remake cannot exist because of this remaster" argument is beyond silly. SE announced and released the PC port of FF VII right around the time they announced the VII remake. Yes SE is much bigger than Atlus, but let's not act like it takes a lot of resources to port a game. P3 may never get a remake, but it won't be because this remaster exist.
Seems to be another one of those cases of emulation being a better option than the official offering. I played the entirety of P3FES on PCSX2 with an HD mod and a really easy to add code that lets you control all party members. Minimal glitches or visual errors. Best way to play the game by far.
Hmm, yeah I get what you mean about the audio. In the battle example, the issue extends to Yukari's voice clip as well. I don't know if this is a helpful description, but it's like the audio version of what you get when you compress an image file too much.
It’s a shame that this just got the SMT3HD treatment where Atlus put the bare minimum effort into this remaster, to the point where it may as well just be an upscale of the original due to having no noteworthy changes and the audio being horribly compressed. Despite having some issues of its own, the P4G port felt like it had way more effort put into it, and so this just feels like a case of Atlus carelessly tossing together a rerelease of P3 just because they already did so for P4 and P5. I do plan to get it eventually, but not until its issues are resolved, and if the rumors of a full-on P3 remake are true, then I can only hope they don’t end up screwing it up.
Persona fandon "you need to keep supporting the company's games" for what? To they release a good remaster with a lot of new contents and improvement? No... It's to create a mobile gacha game using the hype from the previous title.
I feel like people would have hated the lack of team control- Atlus should have just made an actual remaster that combined both versions. 20 dollars is way too much for just a port
Honestly, I think you’re being a little too harsh on the remaster, especially since it sounds kinda disingenuous that your reasoning for not recommending it is because you have immediate access to the previous iterations of it. Like yeah, that’s great, but just being able to access any version of this game is already an achievement in of itself. Even as someone who had to get a Vita just to play P3P or P4G, I’d rather play the inferior game on a much more accessible console than have to buy a long dead console just to play the definitive version of ONE game. I honestly think they went cheap with the remaster because they know the demand for a freaking PSP game was so high and they tried to make the port as cheap as they could to cut costs. The way I see it, I feel like Atlus thought that they could either make a remaster of an already successful game or make a cheap spin-off Persona game again. I mean, I’d be open to playing a complete overhaul of P3 but, like you said, the likelihood of that happening is life-threatening levels of cope.
"P4G easily accessible"? It's been stuck on the Vita for years, and only recently been brought over to modern consoles! What the hell are you talking about?!
Altus was able to market a "lesser" p3 experience for 20 dollars and then double dip with a "real deal" sort of thing for 70 dollars. That's what foresight can earn you, I suppose.
Thank you for this revirw. Its good that more reviewers are holding games up to the standards of all playable versions of the game, official or otherwise. I wish more people did this, especially with Nintendo rereleases. Sucks that reviewers cop out sometimes by saying "oh its decent for an official way to play the game", like bro how is that caveat selling me this so called "definitive" version? Nowadays, these remasters need to differentiate themselves in quality against whatever an emulator can achieve. A consumer could mod the psp iso into a better product than this if they were determined, what was stopping Atlus and Sega from doing more than the bare minimum? At least with 4 Golden, it actually had meaningful QoL improvements in both the Vita and Steam releases.
People are there expecting Altus to spend months in worktime and a fortune in new femc cinematics on a 20bucks remaster thrown in a quickie to let non ps2 owners experience the game
So the thing about the audio it’s not just exclusive to this port, this is a common issue with PSP emulation in general. I’ve played a lot of PSP emulators and they all have the same audio problem. Like I just started playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance for PSP on an emulator, plan on getting either the Wii versions or the PS4 remasters at some point, and any audio that isn’t a cutscene sounds exactly like the P3P remaster audio. So my best guess is that something might be wrong with the PSP’s audio files that causes emulation to not be able to capture it properly.

I repeatedly rewatch the Orpheus awakening scene just because it's so cool it's disappointing that it and the other cut scenes are absent from the pc and xbox ports with no alternative to the portable version on these platforms.

I was just thinking that lol good thing I waited
My theory as to why Portable was chosen over FES is because of the company that made RenderWare, was bought out by EA. So they would either have to pay EA, or put the game through another engine, like with Nocturne.
Edit: February 7, '23
Some people don't understand that what I said was just a theory (don't say it). Those few need to relax, it's just a video game
I wonder if any companies needs a renderware these days.
That could also explain what happened to the Grand Theft Auto "Definitive" Editions, which this review made me think of. I'm not saying P3P Remaster is as bad as those games were at launch, but...
@@GlitchyPixExtra I'm pretty sure golden isn't using renderware, but the original game did.
That and the quality of life changes
to add on to this, this could also explain why games such as Sonic Heroes haven't recieved modern ports (due to the fact that it was on RenderWare) since both SA1 and SA2 got modern ports on Steam
I wish it were possible to combine the FeMC from P3P with the amazing cutscenes and atmosphere of FES.
It shouldn't be impossible.
This is what I ws hoping for the game would be
That and having FES being able to let you control your party. That right there was a turn-off for me for the original. I know people are upset over the cutscene but playing an RPG and not being able to control your party is stupid
@@Acetag31 Well, Portable also let's you control your allies actions
@hue_Tjark that's why I prefer portable. If I can't control my party why play. I play videogames for gameplay. Sure I miss cutscenes but I can look it up no biggie. If I cared enough about stories I'd watch TV or read a book. Gameplay is a huge component that games need to focus on

One of the bonuses of the bad "remaster" being on PC is that I have some hope that community mods might make it a better experience in the future
There are already some good mods out there like added cutscenes which is nice. probably going to get the game and add that mod. I am fine with the portable version just because I like the added features compared to the other versions. Though I would have preferred fes upscaled just because the image quality looks better.
@@TwistedFoxblade And currently a FeMC in cutscenes mod is being made
I think the P3 problem stems from both versions offering different stuff.
Dude if they give us a dds 1 and 2 remake i might excuse them for giving us this lazy remaster
I love the funny misinformed take about Japanese people. Have you ever seen 5chan? These people *invented* online negativity.
I am so tired of remakes / remasters. I'm glad to have P3P available for my Switch now, but c'mon... fresh material please? Stop remaking games and spending so much time on it.
"comes off as cope" "why would they bother to remake a game that was just ported" lmao
I really think they should’ve made a definitive version with both the FeMC route and gameplay improvements and the 3D environments and animated cutscenes.
With Reloaded being a remake, we never got one and probably never will.
Yup, renderware. Probably the reason why a LOT of amazing old games will be completely lost to time. Considering it was industry standard.

P3P does have manual skill selection and p4 golden difficulty options though
@@Papa_Khan Not true. P3P DOES NOT have manual skill inheritance, it's chosen at random
The saddest part about the downgraded graphics in P3P is that the big emotional scenes have a lot less impact. You can hardly even call it a VN when there's not even any CG art to visually emphasize an important moment, just portraits, text, and the same pre-rendered backdrop from start to finish.
And it was amazing. I loved it.

@@Windermed They probably didn't want to pay EA

Also worth mentioning, the base P3, P3FES, and P4 games were made on RenderWare, which is partially lost and what's still there is in the hands of Electronic Arts, who haven't shown any intention of using it for years. P3P and P4G do not use RenderWare. I'm not sure if Nocturne used RenderWare (I think it did), but if so they fully remade it.

The cope was real
This is my first time playing p3, and I’m honestly really enjoying it! I understand what you mean though. The skill select thing is so sad :(
As a kid, I played FES.
I had over 100 hours in P3P. The game is so much fun. If I had played the original first, I wouldn't have liked it much.

I had to…I had to…I finally Platinum’d this game after 5 months of hell. Great story but it was rough, especially when Reload came out.
"P4G easily accessible"? It's been stuck on the Vita for years, and only recently been brought over to modern consoles! What the hell are you talking about?!
Tbf it was on steam at that point
@@poy110 Steam is the opposite of "easily accessible".
This whole part about the remake while still true - is so funny now
Persona 3 Cope-able: ReCoped has just be announced for 2025 release.
Altus was able to market a "lesser" p3 experience for 20 dollars and then double dip with a "real deal" sort of thing for 70 dollars. That's what foresight can earn you, I suppose.
Damn.... That "The prospects of a Persona 3 Remaster comes off as cope" comment aged like milk...
10:30 made me laugh. I totally would have agreed with you at the time this video was made. Kinda crazy knowing what we know now
People are there expecting Altus to spend months in worktime and a fortune in new femc cinematics on a 20bucks remaster thrown in a quickie to let non ps2 owners experience the game
I’m here for 10:48
*persona 3 reload enters the chat*
Around 10:40 this aged like dogshit 💀💀💀
that take on the remake didnt age well huh
10:39 DAMN DID THAT STATEMENT AGE LIKE MILK LOL
10:37 aged poorly in retrospect but i love u nam 😭
So the thing about the audio it’s not just exclusive to this port, this is a common issue with PSP emulation in general. I’ve played a lot of PSP emulators and they all have the same audio problem. Like I just started playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance for PSP on an emulator, plan on getting either the Wii versions or the PS4 remasters at some point, and any audio that isn’t a cutscene sounds exactly like the P3P remaster audio. So my best guess is that something might be wrong with the PSP’s audio files that causes emulation to not be able to capture it properly.
The Persona 3 Remake makes parts of this video embarrassing. I'd delete it.
