      Luckily, there are some Georgia counties that allow tiny houses. Atlanta, Columbus, Savannah, Macon, and Albany all have zoning laws that permit tiny homes. When approved by the local government, tiny houses on permanent foundations and must be constructed by state licensed contractors where required by state law.

    Places like Acrony Bell and Incredible Tiny Homes are bringing tiny home living to the forefront. I truly wish this was available to me 27 years ago when I was just starting out on my own, being a new mom at that time. All the money wasted in renting could've been a nice retirment nest egg for me. It is something that's being looked down upon because many people only think about what RV/Trailer homes use to look like back in the day. These homes are beautifully made and I wish I had the money to buy 3 of them; one for me and one for each of my adult children.

    What struck home for me was that the people look after each other and that is one of the reasons some choose to live at Acony Bell. I’ve lived in my home for over 20 years in a typical suburban neighborhood in NE Ohio and don’t know any of my neighbors. I used to bake brownies or cookies for people who just moved in to be friendly and try to open up friendships but then nothing in return. They pull into their attached garages and go into their homes and no one interacts. Even our mail carrier who lives in the same neighborhood doesn’t greet anyone.

You had a vision and then did everything to make a strong foundation for it. Then you put so much thought and care into what makes human communities function well. It sounds like a huge labor of love. Hopefully others will be inspired by your example and create more communities like this. Sounds like you are being swamped by the demand for what you have created. So glad to know about you. Gives me hope.

    I think what you are doing is beautiful. I’ve been watching tiny home living since 2017. Everyone thought I was crazy. I ended up with a mobile home in a mobile home park. It really wasn’t what I was looking for. To many closed mines. Poorly run and within a few years became run down. Spaces filled with rv’s that were not even allowed when we signed the contract. Didn’t enforce anything and anyone welcomed as long as the lot rent was paid. My family wanted me out of there after two weekends in a row gunfire broke out one block from my yard. I had to make a decision to move and it broke my heart. Leaving our gardens in 2022 for an apartment. Back to square one. Now it’s to late. My dream will never be filled bc of health problems. Plus closed mine set. They still think I’m crazy. lol. God bless you all and live your dream. Don’t wait until it’s to late.

    It’s an updated version of a trailer park. I’ve always wanted the community of a trailer park, but typically manufactured homes are subpar quality and they look like military row houses. What you’ve done here is perfect.

    Slowly, but surely, we are all coming to the realization that affirdable housing has become synonymous with tiny homes with less than what our parents were used to. We are the first generation in America that is economically worse off than our parents even when both couples are working. I remember only my father working and my mother taking care of me and my two smaller sisters for all of the years we lived together. I am sure the same was true with the rest of the folks who are living in much smaller homes now. Oh well, onward and forward with "rugged individualism" we hear these days from our "representatives" in Congress!

    • @le_th_
      @le_th_ Год назад

      They don't have to be "tiny" homes. It could just be smaller homes. Narcissists in the US have made this culture of bigger, better, faster, more decadent/opulent all for the purpose of their own desperate need for public admiration. Most politicians are narcissists, so they go along with this. Celebrities, too. Athletes are also admiration-seekers.
      This desperate need to have "the best" of everything, to have more, to have the most expensive or the fastest car, to win and be the first, are all just insanely narcissistic desires and pursuits.
      Narcissists are never going to agree to live within their means, because they are all about climbing the social hierarchy, and it is never enough for them. That is how tiny houses ended up costing $200K...narcissists loading them down with as much marble and decadent furnishings as possible.
      If we could send all the narcissists to their own continent, like England sent all their criminals to Australia, then we might have a chance. I don't ever see that happening. Narcissists are at ever level of society, in every community, populating most religions, and most positions of power and wealth (because that is what they "need" in order to keep their ever-deflating egos inflated.
      We can't even keep narcissists from procreating and indoctrinating their little mini-me toddlers into full-blown narcissists, so this will continue, sadly.
