For 5 years, Kim has been living comfortably in a 40' long by 10' wide park model tiny home with a ground-floor bedroom--impressive storage! I live by myself and have for a long time. Am 75. Do have family. See my daughter 2 to 4 times a year. My grandchildren once in awhile. Once or twice a year. If I am lucky. Yet, not alone. Have two cats and two possums. Three live outside. Figure the possums are mine. They eat the cat's food when I forget to put it up. I do give them apples. Possums eat mice (yes!) and (double yes!) ticks. When I start feeling alone, I recall God gave me a guardian Angel. We all have one.

A couple of years ago, I moved into a similar community, and while it’s technically a retirement community, the constant flow of everyone’s grandkids keeps it young (and fun!).
Downsizing wasn’t easy, but it was absolutely liberating.
The kids are older and on their own, and for an older widower with 3 old dogs, the cavernous Victorian house and property had to go!
I still have plenty of room for all those things that are so precious to me, but none of the worries I had with all the upkeep I just couldn’t handle myself anymore.
It’s a fantastic lifestyle, and as tough as the transition was, I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
I have peace of mind again.

I was a little horrified when she said she had her stove removed to add a dishwasher. But she explained how she has the two burner cooktop because she doesn't need more than two at a time anyway and that the toaster oven fits a 9 x 13 lasagna pan, sold me on not having a stove.

In a rental apartment in NC, we had no access to our oven for 4 years due to space constraints. We put a dryer in the kitchen and could not open the oven drawer. Im a baker but my toaster oven worked fabulously!

Can't find time but she is currently showing her bedroom. Elkie is on the night table. I love this tiny home! The deck is gorgeous! This home is so well appointed, really nice curb appeal. For $70,000 this is tiny living at its best.

All my life I've wanted a log cabin and just recently became interested in tiny homes. This model is as close to my dream as I've ever seen. I just love it!

I like that idea too.Especially as you get older climbing up and down stairs is a pain.Like too it has a nice front porch.
This is my favorite Tiny Home thus far.
i am seeing some positive things about these tiny house communities, they seem to be a plus for the mental health of people . These sense of community and intimacy is so good for people.The lack of stress that comes from keeping up with the Jones is such a plus . And I notice that many of these communities are placed close to nature and wildlife.The whole life style is a plus.
That's so true! Living in community has many proven mental health benefits, especially when you know that the community you interact with daily shares similar values. It's also wonderful to have intergenerational relationships to learn from each other's experiences. Tiny living is ultimately about crafting a life that rings true to your values rather than " keeping up with the Jones" and often comes with a simpler way of life at whatever price point suits you best.

This is the first tiny house I've seen that I personally liked, even though I have seen lots of videos by people who were quite happy with their choices. I think the wood interior gives a feel of living in a cabin, and safeness, coziness. I like the layout very much. Glad Elkie has the comfort of staying in her own space with a caregiver--and that means you can have peace of mind where she is concerned.

There was one I saw from Victoria Australia, and it was 45k and so practical and nice. Most are 120 to 200k ,. And then with land rent,. You may as well buy a house and rent half of it out.

Wow! Kim’s home and community are absolutely fabulous! Plenty of cosy space in her tiny home, lots of storage. It’s so beautiful! She is a nice lady and what an ideal place to live! Vegans, Omnivores and Carnivores can live along side each other as Kim’s beautiful community is demonstrating! It’s called respect for each other and that is awesome.

@@Swan-rb4yg Kim explained in the video that the meat eaters enjoy the vegan food as well when they have community get togethers. It’s a good start and a positive step towards better health and better for the environment. People just need to learn and be educated about the truth, Kim’s community at AB are patiently discovering and learning together in a calm and supportive way. The rest of society could take a leaf out of their book.

Loved my Green River tiny house when i lived in it. Now my son & his family are going to live in it while their house is being built. Green River homes are so well built and solid.
I'm so curious about their park m8dels. Are they insulated well enough for the rainy pacific northwest? They are truly beautiful.
@leahweinberger583 to be honest..... they're not insulated at all. It's solid hardwood.. I'm sure you'd need insulation around your pipes under the cabin and have it enclosed to the weather. A small LP gas heater or electric heater would help supplement the mini split unit. Good luck on your search!

Kim is living her best life, all the videos I've seen of Acony Bell are like paradise. Everyone seems to just love it there and are truly very happy. The monthly rent there isn't too bad as well. Another great video. Its wonderful seeing close knit communities like AB and all the people look out for each other, Kim has found the perfect spot for her home. 😊
I love that she has meaningful relationships with her neighbors and she just seems so informed. She is like a protector watching over the community. There is such a balance with simplistic living letting nature and people color her life. Travel, a wholesome community, financial freedom, wellness, nature, good coffee. What more can you ask for?

She's wonderful and helpful in explaining. I didn't like her bedroom but I love her porch, I feel like a good outdoor space makes much smaller homes big enough.

I have seen so many videos now of people living at Acony Bell. It seems to be a really wonderful community, and Kim's video attests to that. She is really fortunate to have gotten such a large tiny house (I know... that sounds funny) for such an amazing price! And that lovely porch! She and kitty have a pretty great place.

Fantastic cost for her home. Rent not bad at all for all what is included, land plot, water, sewage, trash and recycling and landscaping. Fabulous.
I like their sense of community, I like it, but hope they also respect each others space and privacy.
I love this house and the story. This seems like the perfect place to retire to or even live your whole life in. The scenery is breathtaking and waking up to that each morning must feel like being in paradise.

GREAT! I live in the Poconos in one of those cute little summer homes here... with my dear daughter, and we made renovations to winterize it. It's been about 6 years now we're going on that we lived here, originally living in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Plus the owner we bought it from added a full extension on the other side of this main little house, and so she has her very own place.
Its like being plopped down in the middle of a lovely forest, as it's So beautiful and peaceful here in the community that we live in.
But it was a lot of joy to see the community you have, and the lovely cute homes, and I do wish everyone much happiness.

Amazing. I love the 3 seasons porch to the bedroom. Being able to walk around the bed and it being on the main floor is the best for someone like me at age 70. Everything is so open.

My hubby, 15 yr old daughter and I stayed at acony bell in March while we were visiting my son in the area. Loved the feel there, though we slept in a loft ( not good for me). I loved the fact that you have a bedroom on the main floor.
