It worked pretty well. I no longer have the tank, but everything seemed ok right up until then end. My recommendation would be to have plenty of cover for the betta and keep the other fish to a minimum. While this combo seems peaceful, the danios are active ALL the time darting around and such. Having some cover helps keep the betta stay chill and less stressed.
Not that i noticed - no torn fins or anything like that. It's possible though, since i work 8hrs every day I wasn't constantly monitoring them. Only 1 way to find out.@@godlikeike
Thank you for this video. How are the CPDs doing with the Betta. I’m about to put my Male Betta in with my CPDs in a 10 Gallon. A little concerned about fin nipping! Thought I’d ask!
So far no issues. My betta was a little territorial at first, but calmed down once she realized they were way too fast for her. I chose a female since they tend to be less aggressive than the males. Depends on how many CPDs, but 10 gal may be a little small (especially with a male). I went with the 20 to give them all plenty of room.
@@catherineanthony7148 Yes, everything has been going quite well! They really don't bother each other at all. Even when I feed them different food at the same time, they seem to know which food is respectively theirs. The CPDs will eat small Hikari pellets (granules) and the Betta mainly eats bloodworms. They sometimes eat each other's food, but there is no aggression. I keep the tank at 76F, which is right on the border of both species "happy place". They seem to be fine - no bad behavior - colors looking great! Even the few shrimp in there are thriving.
I almost bought one of those female koi bettas today but then it said it could get to 3 feet long.. Is that true? How big will it get? The CPD’s look sweet!
@@calebtownsend1967 I hope because I’ve seen 1ft maybe longer koi at my local fancy mall, fashion island. Aka fascist island j/k . Could they be selling those giant koi by mistake? Lol
Will these clips work on a 55 gal aquarium as well?
how did this combo end up working? I want to get these exact fish

@@ReverendMantis thanks, I've read CPDs might be a little aggressive towards Bettas with fin nipping. Did you ever see any of that?

where did you get the plant tray? I've been looking for one for a while. thanks
It was a piece of scrap 3/8" plexiglass. I cut it to size and drilled the holes. (3" for the net pots in the link)

@@ReverendMantis so did the celestials do well with the betta in the end? What was the temperature in the tank to keep both species happy?
