Hi! not sure if you might know - I am reading and seems since it's so old its hard to find clear answers of what works....>So I just wanted to ask ....what is the Max SSD memory/size I can put in a Mid 2009 Macbook Pro? 250GB or 500GB? both I was looking at are 2.5inches? so would either work? or none of those?

Good question! While its dependent on the specific Model ID that you have, if it matches any of the Model IDs in this link, it looks like the storage could go up to possibly 2TB worth of storage. (eshop.macsales.com/shop/ssd/owc/macbook-pro/2008-2009) However for the best info, feel free to reach out to us directly(eshop.macsales.com/Service/) as we would be better able to assist. :)

Don't you have to disconnect the battery before you change the SDD / HD?

You certainly can, but it's not required.
