Thank you for your clear and concise presentation. As RUclips so often proves, knowing what you are doing and knowing how to explain what you are doing are two separate skills which do not always coincide.
I need to upgrade my 15" MAC BOOK PRO 5,3 (2.66Hz) which is currently running OS X El Capitan to the newest Operating System version possible, what would this Hard Drive/SSD upgrade help me get? Thank you
This tutorial was perfect for restoring my mid 2009 MacBook Pro. I'm wondering if I can upgrade the hard drive from 250GB HDD to 320GB HDD 5400 safely? Everything I've read says yes. My current OS level is El Capitan. (also am replacing the battery) Thank you!
Hey, nice video!🙏🏾 I have a QUESTION, I just recently bought a GoPro 11 and it requires a certain OS to download the App (GoPro Webcam) that I need to use it, but my MacBook Pro 2009’s OS (El Capitan) is out of date. How can i fix that or is it a way?? I am trying not to buy another computer and found this video, thinking maybe this will work.🤷🏾♂️Thanks in advance.🙏🏾
Great video. Are there any concerns with size of HDD? I am thinking of buying a 2TB drive, but want to ensure it fits. Also, is there any other hardware upgrades that would be needed when you upgrade the HDD (Memory, video card, etc...)?
Hi, I've used only used the Air and 2017 MBP. So, never have had to upgrade any macs until recently I got a 2009 MBP for super cheap price. But It came without any HDD. I came to know that it has some issue with causing slow disk speed issues and throttling to SATA I speeds due to firmware issues. Does this issue still exist until today or has it been solved already?
Great video. I did this on my 2011 MacBook Pro with an SSD. Now I’m trying to do it on my 2009 MacBook Pro and it won’t start up with new ssd. It will still work with a hard drive, and the new ssd works in my other Mac. Is it because 2009 Mac books cannot be upgraded to ssd or something?
Is the soft "static Free" surface just a blanket? What material is the best to use? It would be helpful if you described how one should "discharge static" before commencing. Is the surface you work on the only thing to worry about or is there something else you need to do?
a blanket is the worst thing you can use. Try to use a silicone surface or plastic surface. You can ground yourself or discharge static electricity by touching a metal surface. And try not to stand on surfaces that conduct static electricity easily like a rug or carpet.
I had the same question. From what I understand RAM limitations are based on the motherboard. 16 gb of ram didn’t start being supported until the 13” 2010 came out. If it’s 2009 8gb of Ram is the max it it must be 2 4gb DDR3 ram only.

If someone decides to switch to SDD, is there anything that the person has to do prior? Do you have to backup information or something ?

This is absolutely helpful!
