    I never seem to get tired of watching these kind of diagnostic videos. No fancy tools, simple logic and a wiring diagram.

    Quick, direct, and effective diagnosis. This is what you need to aim for in order to be successful with diagnostics. But of course you must remember the old saying "You need to be good before you can become fast" Good job!

    Hmmm. I never knew the fuel pump hatch for this model was located in the trunk.

    I own hondas, an fuel pump relays went on a few of them, I always open up gas tank and listen for fuel pump to energize, and when I dont, I check relay first and also, then go to pump just like you did!! Its pretty neat how you don't have to drop tank to replace fuel pump!!! All I buy are hondas, and I keep in stock fuel pump relays,and fuel pumps on my shop shelf!!!! Common problems!! Great job my friend!!

      First thing I do on a strong crank but no start is turn power to on but not start and listen for the fuel pump hum. If no hum, spray starting fluid into the intake just to confirm its a fuel issue if it runs for a few seconds. The few times I've had to do it, it was always the pump, never the relay. I dont even bother checking fuel pressure because if the pump is dead silent when you can clearly hear it normally when the key is turned to on then its not a pressure issue

    You can energize the fuel pump relay with the scanner that way u know the relay and the control side from the ecm is all good. 👍

    Hello fellow Hyundai Sonata owners. I bought a 2011 LE, 4 cylinder, automatic, push button ignition. It only has 37,000 miles on it and the previous owner bought it new. She sold it to me because her two mechanics could not get it to function for her. It would sit for a few days and would not start. They replaced the battery and alternator. That didn't fix it. Right now it will not start or do anything at all, so it actually got worse. The battery is new and checked good (confirmed with part store check and deep charge). The main fuses I can see all look good. Nothing comes on. No exterior or indoor lights. No dash lights or gauges...nothing. Except, the push ignition button will lightly illuminate when I push it. Both key fobs will show a small red light when anything is pushed on them, but nothing happens. The trunk won't open, the alarm won't turn on, no door locks, nothing at all works. It does the same thing when attempting to jump start with 3 different vehicles. It did start occasionally for her with jumper cables and battery charge, but now it is entirely dead and nothing gives it power to crank or start, or any accessories or gauges. It's behaving like it has NO battery at all.
    I have not connected a code reader to it, yet.
    Questions:
    1. Anyone have this occur? What fixed it?
    2. Is there a way to test the key fobs to be sure at least one is working?
    3. I know how to get the car in Neutral to push it around, but is there a way to get the steering wheel to turn? I hate push button crank cars!
    Thank you!

      I would take 1 component that does not work, like the horn which is supposed to have constant power. Check the fuse if it has power ( not if the fuse is good, make sure it actually has power) since everything is dead I would assume it won't. Then you get a power distribution diagram and see where it's supposed to receive power from. If you keep following it back it will lead you to your original issue. Hope this helps.

    Question. Do cars equipped with GDI engines that use the high pressure pumps not give an audible hum when the power is turned to ON but not START? I believe in push button cars it was two quick presses to just power up the car but not start it.

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  9 месяцев назад

      I think on most cars you can still hear a hum from the low pressure pump. Not all cars turn the pump on with just ignition, you might have to crank the engine.
