For a while I’ve been feeling like it’ll take a true black scientist to figure out key things for our hair . I’m grateful for you girl
Honestly I feel the same, we need some major breakthroughs with our hair tbh & Thank you 🤍🤍
@@naturalnadinee we really do & you’re welcome . Thanks for all the responses !
You should also check it Green Beauty on youtube!! It really gets into the bitty gritty science of type 4 hair and it honestly helped me understand my hair allot!
Thank you for this video. Looking forward to trying this. My high porosity hair tangles just like this. My go to conditioner is Aussie 3 minute miracle in the Purple bottle.
@@naturalnadinee I made the breakthrough, try Ethiopian butter you can make it by pouring half heavy whipping cream and half white vinegar into a bottle and shaking it until it hardens into butter or pour them into a blender and let it blend until butter forms, make sure you pour a little more white vinegar then the heaving whipping cream, the white vinegar keeps the butter from smelling after some hours, you can also add some essential oils if you want a refreshing scent
It WORKS! I put the ACV rinse on top of the deep conditioner…3 consecutive wash days now and I’m finally retaining length on my very high porosity hair.
Glad it’s helped!! It’s an absolute game changer xxx
Do u have natural black hair? Do u rinse the acv out?
I did my wash day last Friday and included ACV with the DC😱😱 Today is Wednesday and all but my edges (because they're exposed to friction whenever I wear my bonnet) are still as hydrated as they were on Friday after the wash 😱😱😱 I'm shook!!! This was the missing link..
I'm so grateful I found you sis.. thanks for helping me ❤️
Woow! Thank you so much for that🥹🥹🥹 So glad this tip helped you it’s been such a game changer for me you’re always welcome ♥️♥️
@@naturalnadineeis using deep conditioner with silicone ok to use with apple cider vinegar?
Every time I finish deep conditioning and rinse it out, my scalp is itchy like it's on fire. It happens no matter which deep conditioner I use. I have a sensitive scalp, so I tried adding ACV. No itch. My scalp feels normal. 🥰 Thank you so much for posting this!
Omg same! Then I'll give ACV a try after all 👀

So grateful for the Hi-Po girlies sharing all their knowledge. Those of us who went natural around the height of DevaCurl had a lot of unlearning to do because that's for the Lo-Po dolls. Thanks! 💜
GIRLL that part! unlearning and reversing the damage done, I feel like i have started my hair journey all over again
I tried this method and OMG my hair was moisturized for over a week , Game changer :-)
Wow!! That’s soo good! I don’t even remoisturise anymore either! I love it xxx
Mine only lasted 2-3 days before frizz set in. 😢
I used this method last Friday and OMGosh!!! God bless you and KEEP GOING! This was simple and no EXTRA DRAMA! Thank you sooooooooooooooo much; MY SCALP AND HAIR THANK YOU!🙏
Yass I love that for you! It really changed the game for me! & the scalp benefits too! Xxx
I knew ACV was keeping my curls intact!! Thanks for confirming this. I didn't do it exactly like how you did in the vid but I'll definitely try it! My East Indian curly hair (3b curls) thanks you hun. ❤
Please never stop making videos because I’ve been natural for years and I’m shocked about this new information!!!! I can’t wait to try
So glad I found your channel, I was actually. searching for high porosity haircare when I discovered it. I tried your ACV method and OMG life changing! Hair felt soft and moisturised with minimal shedding or knots. Will definitely continue and have subscribed, keep up the good work sis!👍🏾
Agreed, i been mixing 40/60 ACV on top of my deep conditioners and I’ll do this the rest of my life.
I know you did these videos last year. However, if I didn't watch this video I would have never put the apple cider vinegar on my hair with the deep conditioner. Thanks for helping us for hair care that works.
thank you! & i should reference videos more often becuase they can really benefit xxx
Omgggg tried this today and my hair was full of moisture! Thank you 🥳🥳
So glad to hear it!✨ thank you cx
Thank you so much for this video because the LOC method DOES NOT work on my hair. So I’m going to try your way tomorrow ❤ I’m going to call it the LCV method. Thanks once again 🎉
I’m getting a sew in tomorrow and i feel like i needed this video. I plan to wash my braids every 2-3 weeks and i plan to use aloe Vera and ACV to rinse my scalp and then on my braids with conditioner to moisturize. Excited to see what this new step in my process does to my hair while braided up.
Update…my scalp/braids don’t need to be deep conditioned bc it’s hard to rinse out…but i did enjoy the ACV/aloe rinse at the beginning and i also put ACV and conditioner on my leave out before rinsing.
Such a smart and beautiful black woman! I love your hair and yes you are blessed to not have to strangle your hair. It's a heartache.
Thank you 🥺🤍🥺🤍 & yes I can imagine it’s awful! Being gentle as possible is key xx
I have to try this! This natural hair care journey has a lot of trials and error. My hair dries to a crisp so fast. Hopefully this helps!
Hope it helps too! I would make sure you pack loads of moisture into your hair aswell xxx
I’m going to do this on my next wash day. Your hair is beautiful and I saw the difference after the ACV. 🥰🥰
High porosity needs protein treatment. You should try that too and see if there is any improvement. Thanks for the video.
I love using ACV in all of my DIYs. I need to try this method- your hair looks amazing!
Thank you! You should definitely try it’s fantastic xx
Thank you so much for this video. I have damaged hair from over-processing and a severe hair cut of more than 5 inches did not help. I have a natural curl to my hair, but it never looks good so I always have to straighten or curl. I'm going to try this method on my white-girl hair and see if it helps! Thank you!!!
All the best girl! Hope it helps!🤍🤍
Hey there! Just came across your channel today. I went ahead & tried out the diluted ACV. Not sure if it was in my head but the manageability seemed improved straight away. This wash & go was my easiest & fastest ever by far. I rarely do them because it's usually such a fight. Hair is drying now so we'll see how it goes over next few days! Thanks!
Hey ! Glad you saw some improvement it only gets better with consistent use too! Thank you 🤍🤍
love it! love you! Thank you for all your knowledge! Just saved me a lot of time, money and hair! lol so glad you popped up when I searched high porosity🥳🥰
Just subbed! This absolutely worked for my high porosity hair, thanks sooo much!! 🤗💕
Aww welcome hun! & glad it helped xxx
I have to try this. I do an acv rinse after I deep conditioner, but acv changed the hair game for me. Thanks for these tips.
That’s great there’s so many different ways to implement ACV tbh xx
@@naturalnadinee how long do you let ii sit on your hair?
I'm a few months into transitioning, from 2 decades of chemical straighteners, and my natural hair *the new growth* is SUPER dry.. seconds after the shower is turned off my roots are already drying.. its quite alarming.. wash day is tomorrow so I'm gonna take your advice and come back here to let you know how it works out for me 😊
Same girl but also your hair might need a protein treatment especially if your hair is brittle, dry and shedding a lot. My hair is like that too.
@@ma_kal I do a protein treatment every 8 weeks.. include a little bit of protein into my wash routine for 6 weeks.. this is the first time in my life I'll be dealing with my own natural hair so it's an exciting adventure 🤗
Thanks a lot for sharing Natural Nadine. I will surely give it a try.
Higs feom Mozambique
I do that as well but I don’t use that much of the vinegar I will start incorporating more to my water thank you🙏🏼😇👍👌💯🌹
I definitely use a lot a little works too xxx
Thank you for this! I’ll be adding this to my next wash day to see if this works for me.
My question is, do you blow dry or Revair your hair afterwards? If so do you use any heat protectant or oils to do so?
After you wash out the deep conditioner + ACV from your hair could you use anything else afterward e.g., regular conditioner, leave-in conditioner, butter/oils?
regular conditioner, then leave in but honestly the regular conditioner isnt necessary after all this you could go straight into leave in and styling xx
Great info Nadine! I wonder if you have tried using a deep conditioner with a low pH? We make a hair mask that is low pH for this very reason, so using ACV would not be necessary. As a Certified Cosmetic Formulator I can share that conditioners and leave-in conditioners are made to an optimal pH of 3.7 - 4.5 (max) so using ACV would not be necessary, as over time ACV can be way too acidic and weaken the hair further. I'd love your input on this! Thank you and keep up the amazing info! (love the video you did on "why black people do not have low porosity" and could not agree with your more! Big love 💝
Heyy, hun thank you! && yes I have started incorporating low PH shampoo and conditioner somehow though they’ve been no match for my ACV rinses xxx but I’m always on a hunt for more so I’ll definitely take a look! 🤍🤍
@@naturalnadinee well, shampoo pH should never be too low (best at 5.5 or even 6) as it will touch the skin and if it's too low it can irritate the skin and also damage the delicate microbiome on the scalp. But conditioner and leave-ins yes! Hair itself loves a low pH 💝
@@obloom depends! Shampoos of lowers than 5.5 have their uses for example after dying/relaxers shampoos with low PH neutralise the alkaline effects && given that majority of drugstore shampoos PH range from 6-12) I think there’s so much room for improvement on that! I’ve struggled to find shampoos with a PH of 5.5 tbh xxx
What shampoo do you use please? I'm looking for a moisturising one!! Also do you dilute the ACV?
I love the creme of Nature moisture and shine one that’s actually a staple of mine and so affordable! & yes can’t believe I forgot to mention! 1:3 ratio! 1 part Acv 3 parts water 🤍🤍
Ok Nadine, i can see that this is gonna change my natural hair game. 😆 Just two quick questions for you... 1) did you use cold or warm water to rinse out the conditioner please? , and 2, do you just plonk a gel on top ? I’m not a lover of gels, so how would this work with my cream and oil? Thanks ever so much for sharing. Can’t wait to implement this method.
I use lukewarm water because I hate cold water showers 😭😅
& yea just use my gel after rinsing this out, but whatever styling product you use just go with that! Hope this works for you hun 🤍🤍
Hey, love this vid! I can see you used a shower cap after the DC & ACV spritz. Did you then use a heat cap on top of the shower cap? If yes, how long for?
Hey thank you! And yes I did probably around 30 mins is my usual DC time with the heat cap xxx
Wow thanks for the quick response!! You're the only UK girlie that explains moisture training very well, which I desperately need. So thank you for your service lol! I'm starting my moisture training journey tomorrow, I'm excited but nervous because I don't know which exact products to use for Moisturising Shampoo, DC and leave-in. Any tips please? TIA! xx
@@Ikemtin289 no problem girl I was literally on my phone when it popped up! And as a recommendation based on what worked for me
- creme of nature moisture and shine shampoo (or any moisturising shampoo
- DC I mix them up but Eden bodyworks is extremely good
- leave in conditioner any good moisturising one but creme of nature honey range I used their twisting butter as a leave in!xxx
Amazing thank you so much!
Do you use the acv mixture every time you wash and deep condition your hair?
Wonderful!! You can see the difference your ACV mixture on top of the conditioner made to your hair!! I certainly will be trying your method. May I ask if you put your shower cap on after the ACV application and if so how long for? Blessings oxoxox
Honestly the results are instant! I can’t go without it now & yes I do leave it on for roughly 20-30 minutes depending on the DC
& since you don’t leave ins , what do you do afterwards ? Just moisturizer and style ? What styling you usually do ? I’m trynna figure out so much lol
Yes I literally just style my hair with a gel and that’s that 🤷🏾♀️ I just leave a little bit of my rinse out conditioner in my hair as these conditioners are formulated the same xxx
Hello, I just stumbled upon your videos (in the middle of the night) I’ve been up watching them all night. I’ve been watching another black hair-care scientist these past few days and a ton of videos on LOC and LCO for low porosity type 4 hair. However Your videos and information got me rethinking everything I thought I’ve just learned in the past week🥴🤣I’m just returning to going natural after short relaxed pixie cuts. I have a few Olaplex products and I’m definitely going to add the No 0!! Also wanted your opinion on how often should deep conditioning be. Every wash or once or twice a month? And lastly, do you support the LOC or LCO methods?
Thank you, Nadine, for this video. Please i'd like to ask if this process makes your hair softer (especially the roots). I've had my hair natural for 7 years and it's gotten super hard and i'm contemplating using a texturizer.
It’s absolutely does! Work in small sections and focus on the roots this has really helped to eliminate my frizzy roots xx
Great video. Beautiful hair. When you rinse the apple cider vinegar and deep conditioner off, is it cool water?
Eu também estou a me perguntar isso
I will definitely try this method! Just one question: What is about silicons in the deep conditioner? Can the deep conditioner include silicons or is it better to use a DC without silicons
I would steer clear of silicone containing DC’s . If you want to follow your DC with a silicone conditioner to seal it all in then that’s not too bad I’d also make sure you’re cleansing thoroughly and regularly if you’re using silicones xxx
Love your videos!! Is it just ACV or is it mixed with something? Also, why don’t you use leave ins? Thanks so much! 🤍
ACV mixed with water & no particular reason other than to simplify my routine 😅😅 I just leave in my regular conditioner because it’s formulated the same xxx
I have high porosity hair and I would never use apple cider vinegar but if it works too for her
Hey Nadine , how did you come up with the ACV rinse on top of the DC ? I haven’t seen any other videos like this , so I know it is special . I have a lot of breakage and know I have a moisture retention issue so hoping this works 🤞🏾
Hi! honestly its something i just experimented with until i found a method that my hair loved! just mianly based on my research on the PH of hair and ive been obsessed with keeping my hair at its optimal PH. Thats when the ACV came in really hope you see some results xxx
Oohh wow , Im going to try this tomorrow, how much applecider to water ratio for spray bottle 🤔
Im excited to try thi 😊
Hey! 1part acv 4 parts water!xxx
Could you do a video on your favorite hair products?
Absolutely xx
I was lazy at first and after I pre poo my hair the night before with just coconut oil, it was a game changer!!! We want king healthy hair but are too lazy to get it. Just do it!
Do you recommend using deep conditioner with silicones in it or is using one without silicones better?
No silicones in a deep conditioner, for me a good quality DC that nourishes the hair without all those extras is a must. Feel free to use a serum with silicones when styling though!xx
@@naturalnadinee ok thank you 🩷
Thing is I don’t like how my hair feels after I’ve used acv. It feels stringy & rigid. Like it feels super strong but that feeling is awful. 😭 idk if that’s supposed to happen.
This is why I started applying on top of a DC so I can mix the two and stil get the soft moisturised feeling because it can definitely feel very stringy xxx
That was my feelings exactly. I didn't like the way my hair felt after but I guess maybe I need to mix it more with the deep condition.
So as someone that uses Mielle Rosemary oil 2-3 times a week and also uses a leave in moisturizer, does this ACV method kinda eliminate the point of using the two products I have been using? The oil is more for my scalp nourishment yes but, thought I ask anyway lol
Your hair looks great. Does the ACV smell linger in your hair?
Nope! I found when I used i on its own it would slightly linger but not when I mix it with my DC x
@@naturalnadinee That’s great. Thank you for replying. Love your channel.
Hi, I might have missed it but how long do you keep the deep conditioner and acv on for? What is the recipe for the ACV rince? Do you dilute it with water? Thanks
She’s made a video on this already half water and half ACV the deep conditioner stays as long as the recommended time on the deep conditioner says
When I washed my hair after the acv was rinsed my are felt shiny smooth like a clean dish would feel after being washed I guess the cuticles were flatten down in my hair oh I used my home made acv the Braggs apple cider vinegar don’t taste good my home made vinegar taste good I’m welcome to try anything you can eat and put your hair
Hey just wanted to ask what do you think about using onion water to grow natural hair ?
I like to steam my hair on wash days. I steam for 5 min, after a clarifying shampoo and a moisturizing shampoo, to open up pores and cuticles. I then put deep conditioner on and steam for 10-20 min. I'd like to add the ACV on top of my deep consitioner and steam. Do you suggest this? Or should I steam with the deep conditioner, add the ACV afterwards, let the ACV penetrate for a while, then rinse? Or does it not matter either way? How should one go about incorporating the ACV on top of the deep conditioner when using a steamer on wash days?
I don’t think that matters as much I use a heat cap when I deep condition so it’s the same concept I allow it all to work together xxx
@@naturalnadinee thks
After u spray the ACV , how long do you leave it on your hair before rinse?
Heya , About 20 mins while I DC x
Redken bonding does it for me no Combs no brushes I do use acv with aloe as well
Hi. Thanks for the video. So how would steaming be beneficial during deep conditioning with acv if it lifts the cuticle and acv helps to seal/close the cuticle? Wouldn't steaming your hair open back the cuticle that you're trying to close?
Yep, but steam only temporarily does this, once your hair returns to its normal temperature but in my opinion steam lifts the hair cuticle tooo much
@@naturalnadinee Thanks for replying, Nadine. I'm wondering if I should steam with the DC for 15min then spray the acv and cover with a shower cap for another 15min 🤔
is ACV good for low porosity hair??
Hello m new to this channel and i wanna know if we can use tea tree oil instead of apple cider
Does the ACV have to be the one with the "mother" in it??
Yes ideally! The mother has all the nutrients x
Can you review Ambunu and if it’s a good replacement for shampoo?
I wish there was a more natural way of doing this. Im Indian who really messed up my hair to now when it’s super frizzy and hard to manage. I’ve started using the LCO method after shampoo and it’s helping. I want to try this method but the problem is, I don’t want to reply on a store bought conditioner, and I only have natural oil and flax gel available. So can I apply flax gel, then some oil and then acv? But since I do this after I get out of the bathroom, I won’t be able to rinse it off… will it still work? I’m worried of acv breaking my hair..
Tbh the use of ACV on the hair has been around a very long time , but it should always be rinsed off, I’m not exactly sure of the side effects be it breakage or scalp irritation but I wouldn’t recommend xx
Do you sit under the dryer every time you use the apple cider vinegar and the deep conditioner? If you do not, then did you sit under the dryer this time. Your hair is gorgeous.
Thank you!! & yes I always sit under the dryer really helps with the deep conditioning process 🤍🤍
@@naturalnadinee, I have never thought one could sit under a heated dryer with apple cider vinegar on their hair. I need to try that. Thanks for the information.

Heyy credits in my bio!🤍🤍
Just curious if you've tried rinsing your hair with cold water to close your cuticles and get super shine when not using ACV?
Hello yes I have, but my hair doesn’t take well to that😭 so I stick to lukewarm water xx
@@naturalnadinee Ok, I'm new to your channel and didn't know if you had. Thx for the reply. Love what you bring to the natural hair community with science.🥰
I performed the same technique in me, my scales are closed but after drying my cuticles open, I don't know what to do anymore it's been 2 years since I can't close my cuticles anymore so my hair quickly becomes dry and my length is stagnating (previously I had long hair and low porosity due to the care I provided because I mix vinegar in my hair masks) but currently it's been 2 years my hair does not want to close ( I’m french sorry for my bad english) do you think it's a protein problem?
What is your ingredients ( measurements) for your acv combo?
1 part acv 4 parts water
Do you dilute the acv with water if yes what's the ratio ?
Yes I do, 1 part ACV 3 parts water xxx
I was just about to ask!
Hi!! Do you use pure or diluted vinegar?😘
She diluted it 1 part ACV 3 parts water
So after going in with the deep conditioner and the ACV, do you go again with the shampoo or you rinse with just water?
You only rinse it with water. She leaves a little bit of the conditioner in her hair because Elsie doesn’t use leave ins
Should I store my ACV in the fridge?
How often do you do this routine?
I used to do it every wash day now my hair is trained once/ twice a month xx
Is there an alternative to ACV? Could you lemon juice or some other natural acid?
Appreciate the explanation and science ☺️💕
No to lemon juice, it has a lightening/bleaching effect on hair, stick with ACV it’s gentle and works xx
I see a ton of comments from high porosity ladies. I just figured out that me and my daughter have protein sensitive low porosity hair. Protein overload can be fast and WILL cause breakage shedding and dry hair on both of us. Ugghhhh! We need sulfates in shampoo and a no protein moisturizing conditioner. I’ve corrected that and it was a game changer. Now I want to add more sealing after getting some moisture into the cuticle with heat during DC. will this work for low po / protein sensitive hair? Any suggestions will be helpful! Thanks!
Black people can not have low porosity hair she already did a video on this just look up her acv videos and you will see
Can you use the ACV on bleached hair?
have you ever made with other type of acidic ingredients like lemon? alcohol vinegar?

Hello, is it necessary to use a conditioner right after deep conditioning?
I personally do because I don’t use a leave in I just partially rinse the conditioner and use that as my leave in, if you’re going to apply a leave in then you can skip the conditioner step tbh x
Thank you.
Please a question when you seal your cutiles with à ACV water with à low ph when your rinse out your DC after with à normal water with à more higher ph like you do ...does not this water open again your cutiles? Please I want an answer
Is it just apple cider vinegar or is it diluted with water?
Definitely diluted! Sorry I didn’t show that part in this video but 1part ACV 4 parts water
hey girl, bought olaplex 8 after watching your video; where would it fit into this routine? after the deep conditioner / acv or before?
Before 🤍 I hope you like it that stuff is the bomb! Xxx
Does it matter what deep Conditioner you use with the ACV?
No it doesn’t whichever you prefer xxx
Love the video. Can you help me understand why my hair continues to lather even after rinsing out shampoo?
I think because there’s still residue of shampoo in there, I have that issue sometimes run the water under the tap for slightly longer xxx
You could have hard water.
How often do you wash her hair?
Once a week xx
How often should you do this?
How often do you use this deep conditioning routine?
Every wash day x
I knew I was doing something wrong 🙃 thanks
& so how long do you stay under a drier ?
About 20 minutes, nothing crazy xx
if you don't use leave ins what do you use?
Nothing really i usually leave a little bit of conditioner in my hair before styling x
Interesting method do you think it will work with relaxed hair
I don’t see why not, I would probably recommend an acidic hair treatment too for relaxed hair it’s a more long term PH balance typically used for bleached hair but same principle but I’ll probably do a video on that another time xx
Does it also work for non coily high porosity hair ?🤔
Only black people can have high porosity hair
Did you do ACV rinse each wash?
Yes when I wore my hair curly xx

Not many people mention the detangle but not wanting to be there too long struggle
Yesss the detangle part can just be a nightmare especially if you pick out your hair a lot but this definitely helps xx
Hello, will this help if I have seb derm too?
I tried this, I wasn't able to leave everything on for very long because I had work but the first thing I noticed immediately getting out of the shower was that there was less frizz and more definition than usual! I was a bit afraid to wear my hair out straight from the shower like that (no LOC method, no additional products), but I also wanted to experiment. As my hair dried throughout the day, the curls formed beautifully and my hair felt super soft, mainly towards the ends, but that's on me; I have a tendency to focus on the middle and ends of my hair instead of my roots + I forgot to grab a shower cap so all in all my roots didn't get the full benefit of this treatment. User error. I will try to do better next time! Thank you for sharing this with us, you're a 💎.
What about styling products?
As in what do I use or?xx
@@naturalnadinee yes. After you're done with the washing and all of that how are you maintaining the every day styles? Thank you

Heyy! Lean towards super moisturising shampoos only, if you can’t use that then use rinses like ginger rinse, ACV rinse etc

Yes you can!xx
How do you manage the smell?
Honestly it doesn’t smell great! But because I apply o top of my DC the smell doesn’t linger for long once it’s settled on my hair I can barely smell it. You can add an essential oil if you don’t like the smell x
