As a kid and a teen many, many years ago, (I'm 73 now 🙄), we didn't use or have ACV around the house but we always had distilled white vinegar. My mom had used it for years as her hair rinse, and since we were kinda on the poor side financially, I also used it a lot as my rinse. I always had good, healthy hair, and it just felt so clean and shiny. I now use the white for cleaning and the ACV in food and anything body related. I have been a bit negligent lately about using it as either a pre soak or a final rinse in my hair, but I need to get back to it because I love it. Thanks for this video and the reminder!❤

THANK YOU! I stopped eating dairy, grain, processed sugar, soy, bad oils, etc. almost a year ago and my scalp was STILL so itchy flaky and just embarrassing! I am totally going to try this!
I started using ACV and quit using commercial hair products because I am super sensitive.its been about 10 days and my hair LOVES the backing soda and water as my no-poo and then ACV with water as the conditioner every 2-3 days. It even helped with how dry my hair is so far and it's been amazing! I won't go back to shampoo and conditioner from the store. Switching to a more natural and organic lifestyle. Thank you for your experiment :)
I am going to try the baking soda for my no-poo, I just started with the ACV as my conditioner and it is working out great, the ends of my hair was like straw but it seems to be I guess healing, so happy I started doing this by the recommendation of Dr Alan Mandell on RUclips
What a great video!! The scalp and hair are very sensitive to changes in ph level. Normally on the acidic side, it can become too alkaline which causes the itchiness and dryness. Also yeast and bacterial infections can occur. Hard alkaline water and alkaline shampoos can be a problem along with a diet that is too alkaline. If a super health conscious person consumes an over abundance of fruit or vegetable juices, or too many vitamins or minerals it can aggravate an alkaline scalp. Everything we eat and drink has an effect on the ph of our bodies. I used to drink a ton of juice that I made in a juicer and that greatly dried out my scalp. Juices are alkalizing to the body. The apple cider vinegar rinse is a great way to balance the ph level and relieve symptoms
Yah this is amazing im a 33yo guy who start growing my hair last 4 years and I wish I did this when I started but in the year that I have used it my hair had stopped coming out from the top and my hairline is just stronger and my scalp doesn't flake. My hair is way softer and easier to control I dont even need product the same way. There's another recipe u can do twice a month if your scalp is super dry!!! Apple cider vinegar garlic and onion in a blender then let that sit on your scalp for 30 min every 2 weeks and do the regular ACV... bro my hair literally stopped falling out until I didn't do it for like 3 months
On the length lightly massage coconut oil in before washing. I do this at night. Since you are using the ACV it will remove the greasiness of the coconut. ACV is also good for those of us who have psoriasis. I even pour it down my back to heal the dry patches.
Excited to try, I'm relieved to know that it takes multiple rinses to reach desired effect. In the past I only tried it once and it made my scalp really flaky so I never used it again. Well I see now it's something I need to do routinely! Thank you, there's hope for me too
If I can give a recommendation: Rinsing out the ACV partly defeats the purpose of the wash in the first place as water is usually between 6 - 8,5 (hard water) on the pH scale. Doing the ACV is supposed to bring down the pH value your hair was exposed to from shampoo and water. That‘s why I‘d recommend to not rinse out the ACV and also to dillute it further. 1:5 mixture means pH value of roughly 3.5, scalp pH value is somewhere between 4.5 to 5.5. Therefore 1:50 to 1:100 is more advisable as increasing the pH from 3 to 5 takes ten times more water than increasing pH from 3 to 4, it‘s exponential growth.
What I've noticed with ACV, people love the way their hair feels, their hair really softens and feels healthier, so it must be healthy for the hair, but as far as how their hair looks, I would say it just looks okay. It feels great but looks okay, but then again a natural product may never give people that Shiny glossy, jaw dropping silky look. I'm still going to try it for the health benefits. thank you!

DO THIS WITH CAUTION. I have very hard well water, and am always looking for something to get the hard water minerals out of my hair. My hair is fine, and bleach highlighted. I put some apple cider vinegar in a large bottle, added water…about 1/4 vinegar, 3/4 water. I did not rinse afterwards. The vinegar totally fried my hair, especially where it was highlighted. So bad that my hair just broke off, and there was no fixing it, had to cut it all off. Vinegar is an acid. If you are going to use it, don’t leave it on too long. @@margaretmatheny Hold on, what? You cured your tumor with a raw fruit diet? No. No no no no. That’s not how that works. It dissipates within just a short while, even if you use it as a final rinse. If you use it as a presoak, your shampoo and conditioner will take away any scent of it. I have used it off and on for many years.
I think over washing is the biggest reason for dandruff. I did that once and since then I’ve been dealing with redness. My quick tip is to use a thin oil, lightly dab it on the area to hide the flakes, helps a lot especially in the front of the head, around the hairline for a quick social interaction of like 2-4 hours..
Actually no, there's no such thing as over washing when you have dandruff, unless you're washing your hair 7 times a day or something crazy like that, the fungus that causes dandruff feeds on the oils on your scalps, by spacing out your wash days you're just helping keeping the fungus wel fed, not to mention too much sebum causes severe hair loss, itchiness and redness in of it self, we souldn't be afraid to wash our hair, that's not what causes the problem, what messes with our sclap is not washing your hair frequently when you have an oily sclap or if you were sweating all day, like seriously just wash your scalp, not using a water filter, like she said tab water causes all sort of skin problems, not just dandruff, using shampoos that are not right for your scalp type, showering with hot water, touching your hair constantly with your dirty hands, etc, you uust need to find the products and the routine that works for your scalp, just don't be afraid to wash it
Hi I have the same problem and have some questions! Has all the dandruff gone completely by today? How many times do you use apple cider vinegar a week? Did you put any moisture on your hair after that? Are you still using apple cider vinegar even though the dandruff is gone?
I have COPD and some other medical problems and medication that I take on a daily basis somehow causes my scalp to be itchy dry it's even caused patches of skin near my scalp to be very dry... Apple cider vinegar does help but anyone out there who still bleaches and or dyes their hair should know do not stop using conditioner! Apple cider vinegar is good for your scalp not as much for the rest of your hair it can dry your hair out if used incorrectly if it irritates add more water... I find that this method is better than the t gel shampoo because it does dry out my hair really bad
Between washes you should do just the avc rinse you might be allergic to an ingredient that's in all shampoos. I'm def trying this. Thanks for this video.
Do you shampoo, condition and then put this on? I tried to watch a couple times to see if you said you do it after you condition.......not sure if I just missed that part.
Wow i will definitely try this, thanks for the video i want to make sure the process so will do shampoo and conditioner and after the AcV stays for 5 min and rinse with cold water? Pls is that right thank u
Hey! I know it's very weird to ask this type of questions. But please can I know the proportion.. like if I add 5tablespoon of acv then how many tablespoon of water? And should I apply it everyday (for dandruff and hairfall)
I’m 24, male, and have had perfect hair and perfect hairline my entire life; *until I started using shampoo and conditioner during lockdown for the past 2 years.* My hair’s itchy, hair thinning (a lot), dry and brittle hair, etc. I really wanna try ACV.
@@michaelbeardemphl792 I haven’t wanted to risk it. Honestly, I think the hair thinning is due to not getting enough calories from losing weight along with the toxic shampoo etc. I recently had surgery for a wound and couldn’t shower for a week, and noticed my skin and hair were both the smoothest they’ve ever been. I think it’s bad to constantly get your hair wet. I’m now only washing my hair once a week, and I’ve seen huge improvements. I’ve also stopped sitting in aircon all day as it’ll dry your skin and hair out. I’m going to try eating maintenance calories for the next 3-4 months and see if my hair thickens out again. I also think micronutrients like Vitamin D3 (sunlight) and iodine play a huge role.
Its probably from the boosters and jabs that are causing that. A VAX injury. Vit d3 is important. Magnesium and k2 also important to take with vit d3. K2 is in grass fed and grass finished cheese.
@@margaretmatheny we currently have Lakewood Organic in our fridge. Its just pure inner aloe leaf juice with a touch of organic lemon (no added sugar or anything else). It’s very healing for the gut! Good for those suffering from leaky gut. It’s also great for your scalp, as it naturally balances the ph. My hubby used to wash his hair only using aloe juice. His hair was incredibly soft and clean! Another brand I recommend is Lily of the Desert. It’s also organic. That company also makes paleo chocolate. No added sugar, just sweetened with Stevia. TBH it’s not my favorite, lol! But I’m a little spoiled, because I live near a chocolatier that imports amazing organic chocolates (some exotic) from around the world. ✌️
I just found this video. I tried 2 times and both times my hair feels very soft, and very few hairs fall out. I learned that hard water we have caused my scalp dandruffs and hair loss. My question is do you continue your method since you made this video? I know it’s easy method. Only extra 5 minutes to rinse with ACV water and leave on. Then a minute to rinse with filtered water.
Curious whether you're still doing this and if you've experienced any negative effects at all. Saw a video that says use 7oz water to 1oz part vinegar for a pH of 3, which can safely be used every few months or 8oz water to 1tsp vinegar (a pH of 4) for regular use. Using a strong mixture often can wear away at your scalp's acid mantle over time. What has your experience been?
Would you do this after shampoo? And if so, did you condition after? I’m super down bad and having a quarter life crisis because of this recent hair loss and long term dry scalp so I’d really appreciate it!
Do u struggle with oily hair? I have dry scalp and oily hair. I think it’s gotten worse because I haven’t used conditioner on my scalp trying to prevent oil!!! I’m currently trying Heritage ACV hair rinse! Hoping for results!! I may have to switch to straight Apple cider/water?? Thanks for all the info!!!
for anyone who can't stand the smell of apple cider, white vinegar does a very good job too. In my experience I didn't see a difference aside from smelling less strongly.
My guess is that yes it will fade hair color if used in excess! Once every few washes shouldn't hurt? Def ask your hairdresser what they suggest! Yes, rinse!!
Hi I wanted to share what I've discovered after doing a lot of research. I found that using ACV after shampoo and conditioner (or replacing conditioner, based on your preference) works best. You have to make sure you really rinse out the ACV. Using ACV after shampoo and conditioner allows the ACV to restore and balance whatever was lost by the shampoo and it also retightens the hair shaft and cuticle. It's totally up to you. I'm sure I wasn't who you intended to answer, but I just had to share. I recently started using an ACV (my second rinse was about an hour ago) and I can see a major difference. My scalp feels so clean and my hair is stronger. I've been suffering from massive hair loss and shedding. The amount of hair loss has decreased dramatically! Wishing you the best on your hair journey!
Thanks for the video! So glad you found something to help you scalp! Do you wash your hair with filtered water too? The water in our city is really bad and I think it causes my hair loss, brakeage, and dryness. I haven't done much to help my hair because I don't want to damage it more. I would love to try this out to see if it can help my scalp too.
Hi! I am curtently applying apple cider vinegar to my hair because it's a bit rough, i have used it for 3 days and my hair hasn' t changed since. Do you think i should continue using it and wait for its effects or should i give up on the apple cider?
I hate seeing those little white dust in my hair . Ive been dealing with dandruff ever since i enter the teenage years , and im already 19 . Its winter now and is cold , dandruff keep falling in my pillow but im using ACV . I use ACV before and it calm down both my face ( full of acne back then ) and scalp. My hair they say becomes more healtheir at that time and since im lazy i didnt continue , about the face thing i cant stand the smell so yeah i use aloe vera instead .
Oh aloe vera, nice touch. I'm the same! I actually think mine was tied to some gut issues and poor circulation, so I've been trying to heal that! But yeah, if I miss one round of ACV rinse, it slowly starts to appear again. I have to be very disciplined because it works when I am!
@@lalajean452 If I don't do this rinse, it slowly comes back, which leads me to think there's a deeper rooted issue for me! Working on healing my gut, I changed my shower head and I'll report back with another video when I get to the root! It's almost like ACV is "advil" get's rid of the symptom but the root cause still remains.
I use straight acv in a spray bottle. I wet my hair first, spray, then shower while letting acv soak in my hair, Then rinse hair and body. I love this method. Detangle Free and Less Breakage on the same day.
how do you do it? after shampoo and conditioner? then put the acv leave it for 5mins then rinse it with cold water? is that correct? you will not leave it on right?
correct. After shampoo and conditioner. Yep, correct! It should rinse out while still having an affect on the scalp(I have thinner hair so it was easy to rinse out for me). All my experience!
Oh please tell me if it works on product build up !! No matter what I do I can’t rinse out all the product and can’t run a brush through it after a shower. I want to see if this could help
It definitely will clear your build up. That is one of the many benefits of using a apple cider vinegar rinse. Hair is left shiny and bouncy, free of build up.

I'm confused do u do shampoo then conditioner then apple cidar or do the apple during I'm so confused
Just curious why did you ditch the added essential oils? Did you feel they did nothing and which ones did you try?
Thanks
Between washes you should do just the avc rinse you might be allergic to an ingredient that's in all shampoos. I'm def trying this. Thanks for this video.
Do you shampoo, condition and then put this on? I tried to watch a couple times to see if you said you do it after you condition.......not sure if I just missed that part.
Wow i will definitely try this, thanks for the video i want to make sure the process so will do shampoo and conditioner and after the AcV stays for 5 min and rinse with cold water? Pls is that right thank u
Yes. Use the ACV rinse after you shampoo and condition. then rinse with cold water. All done!
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 I let you know how is goes :)
Hey! I know it's very weird to ask this type of questions. But please can I know the proportion.. like if I add 5tablespoon of acv then how many tablespoon of water?
And should I apply it everyday (for dandruff and hairfall)
She said 1 part acv to 5 part of water. In your case it must be 5 x 5 tbs of water
I can’t really see the ends after the 30 days. Do you think this helped your hair grow more in that month than it would have normally?
I’m 24, male, and have had perfect hair and perfect hairline my entire life; *until I started using shampoo and conditioner during lockdown for the past 2 years.* My hair’s itchy, hair thinning (a lot), dry and brittle hair, etc. I really wanna try ACV.
Look up Andy Roddy Hair like a Fox. Incredible info!
I’m having the same problem at 23. How often do you use ACV? And how many times you shampoo a week? Also any progress ZIPPO?
@@tacticalcenter8658 I’m not vaxxed. Thank god. I think it was a combination of the shampoo and being inside with air conditioning drying out my hair.
Did she say that she puts the ACV in before or after she shampoos and conditions?
I have the same problem and lost so much hair going bald soon I guess! I will try this wondering if will help to stop the hair fall?
How often do you do it? And what type of shampoo should I use? Please help
Thank you. I've had itchy scalp since forever. Gonna try
Chh chh chh chh chh 😊
Thanks for sharing! I’m almost 9 months postpartum, and would love to try this for somewhat dull hair. Have you ever tried aloe vera juice?
I have not! I couldn't find an aloe vera juice with good ingredients:/. But I really didn't look that hard. I bet that would help too!
@@Simply-sixx WOW, thank you!!! I can't wait to try that out.
Did it one time, itchiness immediately stopped. Will keep it going.
How often would you do it? Every day? Every other day? A few days a week?
Margret, do you wash your hair everyday ?
Curious whether you're still doing this and if you've experienced any negative effects at all.
Saw a video that says use 7oz water to 1oz part vinegar for a pH of 3, which can safely be used every few months or 8oz water to 1tsp vinegar (a pH of 4) for regular use. Using a strong mixture often can wear away at your scalp's acid mantle over time.
What has your experience been?
Would you do this after shampoo? And if so, did you condition after? I’m super down bad and having a quarter life crisis because of this recent hair loss and long term dry scalp so I’d really appreciate it!
just saw this comment below from her! "post! fully shampoo and condition then ACV rinse!"
Do you do your rinse pre, post, or between your shampoo & conditioner?
post! fully shampoo and condition then ACV rinse!
can i use white kitchen vinegar(3.75g acetic acid per 100g )
?
Do we do this in between shampoo and container or after conditioner?
Do you use it before or after shampoo and conditioner?
Can you put the apple cider vinegar before or after shampooing the hair?
I do it after
Is it good to use ACV as final rinse? Or washing it off is more adviseable?
That’s what I’m trying to figure out
Just for clarity did you wash your hair every time you put the ACV mixture on your scalp and hair?
what shampoo and conditioner do yoy use?
Do you wash your hair and then do this rinse? I have to try this. Hopefully it will also help my hair grow.
Yes! Complete your usual shampoo and conditioner routine then let the ACV mixture soak on your scalp for 5 mins. Rinse with water!
@@margaretmatheny4303 thanks! I am gonna try it when I wash my hair next. 👍🏼
@@blessedlifewithlaura Wonderful!!!
So you mean we shampoo and conditioner everyday for 30 days?
@@sanaafreen1937 Honestly, I do it every single time I wash my hair(1-2 times a week). It's just so good for your scalp!
Hello,
Did you put ACV every Wash?
Thank you😊
thank you!!....you do great videos...so authentic, thank you
thanks so much!!!
for anyone who can't stand the smell of apple cider, white vinegar does a very good job too. In my experience I didn't see a difference aside from smelling less strongly.
Hi, just so that I understand, was it a rinse ONLY before every time you shampoo and conditioned? Thank you ☺️
So do you shampoo and condition and then put the rinse in??
This helps people with overly scalp too?
What shampoo and conditioner brand do you use? I am having similar hair symptoms and 3 months PP I can’t wait to try this out!
I use Beautycounter and Under Luna! Once one is out, I switch to the other. My hair likes that best!
Let’s try it, I have flakes and I have really oily scalp and lately with this cold weather is been even more oily which I can not tolerate it anymore
Give it a go, nothing to lose!!
great video , but can the avc rinse make my hair lighter ?? and should i rinse it after using it ? thnx ^^
My guess is that yes it will fade hair color if used in excess! Once every few washes shouldn't hurt? Def ask your hairdresser what they suggest! Yes, rinse!!
Not sure.... Did you use acv every day?
How often do you shampoo with this routine?
How was ur process?
Shampoo ACV conditioner
Or Shampoo conditioner ACV ?
One doubt🤔 30days day by day or 2times for one week????
Hi, which shampoo are you using??
Gunner is the most smiley little dude around. So cute.
He is
Do you wash your hair with shampoo first and then put apple cider vinegar second. I'm kinda confuse, which one you use first
@@annavincent6830 shampoo and condition like normal, rinse and then use the ACV mixture. Let it soak for 3 ish minutes then rinse with water!
@@margaretmatheny with cold or warm water?
Any expirience with acv when having seboria?
Maybe this has been answered and I missed it, but how much vinegar to water in your mixture?
she says that in the video - 2:03
@@aiah3594 thank you. I watched it twice and missed it completely! 😁
25% of the bottle is ACV, 75% filtered water
Do you use it every day or like once a week?
So do you do the ACV before washing and conditioning or after?
How often do you shampoo your hair? Is it safe to use it daily?
Don't do it daily. Only 3-4 days
No:( I wish we could. but we're just not in a location where we could do that. I totally agree that the water source is SO important!!
@@margaretmathenywell water is bad for your hair if you have hard water
Hi! I am curtently applying apple cider vinegar to my hair because it's a bit rough, i have used it for 3 days and my hair hasn' t changed since. Do you think i should continue using it and wait for its effects or should i give up on the apple cider?
Hi, did u see any results with the apple cider vinegar?
Your water might be your problem if you have well water it might be hard Water
I Cannot figure out if you start doing this and then shampoo and conditioner or you do the rinse last? 😊
First is shampoo and conditioner then the acv leave it in your hair/scalp 5 min and rise with water
Someone has probably already asked, it what shampoo and conditioner do you use?
@@margaretmatheny i still jave dandruff tho . It wont go away .
@@margaretmatheny thank you for your response, how many times your doing in a week?
Does it's help to increase hair growth
Oh please tell me if it works on product build up !! No matter what I do I can’t rinse out all the product and can’t run a brush through it after a shower. I want to see if this could help
It definitely will clear your build up. That is one of the many benefits of using a apple cider vinegar rinse. Hair is left shiny and bouncy, free of build up.
@@nhfraser11well water is not good for your hair

What shampoo/conditioner do you use in your routine? I’m struggling with similar dry scalp, flakes, and some hair loss :(
I use beautycounter and under luna. I switch them up weekly!
Plz tell me the amount of ACV in water...
Is conditioning important after shampoo? Actually I'm facing hair loss which is too much.
I do , it helps keep hair moisturized and it puts back oils that we’re stripped from shampooing
Hi, I was wondering if the strong scent of ACV stuck to your hair? I’d love to try this, but I’m scared my scalp would end up smelling funky when I’ve just showered. 😅
Nope! The smell doesn't linger. Go for it. Once your hair is dry you won't be able to tell there was ACV in it at all.
I can only faintly smell it when my hair is still wet or drying, but once it’s dry the smell is completely gone
Did you do the vinegar daily?
Apply Apple winger wash ur hair with water??? Like or use like a serum??? Plzz help
apply ACV spray after shampoo and conditioner. Leave it in for 5 minutes then rinse with water so that a little bit of it stays on the scalp!
What was the order? 1- Shampoo 2- Conditioner 3- ACV rinse?
Yes!
