This makes so much more sense than any way I’ve ever been shown before, I’m gonna start practicing with this layout. Thank you so much for giving quality information with no incentives.
Simple and informative. Brilliant. In our old gym, our coaches were major proponents of utilising superior footwork to defeat your opponent, and we were drilled ed mercilessly on the discipline. I love your videos man.
Yooo, I don’t exactly do this but I’ve done something similar and also I’ve noticed people don’t tend to work the different range of punches on the heavy bag, long range, mid range, and infighting range. Btw love this been trying to find a side step hook to the body movement and this is perfect!
Wow your coaches should feel stupid not you then lol. No disrespect but this shit is boxing 101 you better get your money back from those assholes and find better coaching!!
Can you guys actually believe that my friend and I got it trouble for doing this drill at the gym? This was around in high school when I was in my teen years. Only difference is I had my friend push the bag towards me. Looking back at it now I think that’s one of the most stupidest things that you can get told off for especially it was by a personal trainer as well, like you trying to impede my growth?? Anyone else ever have the same experience or similar? Would like to know…
Yeah some coaches are just too close minded or too old school and don’t know how to evolve, it’s their way or the highway. It’s like that in all sports, I wrestled for 4 years in high school. My coach didn’t usually listen to even logical science based explanations but it’s been 1.75 years after graduating and I started Muay Thai last month, this coach is a lot more understanding.
If a coach cannot learn new things and adapt then he or she is not a good coach. All good coaches never stop learning, same with students, there is always something to learn that is useful. In sports in life in everything 🙌🙏✌
Great footwork but at the very end when you're about to throw a jab your elbow flares out too much. I used to do that. My boxing trainer always told me to tuck it in. Throw the jab straight from the hip while stepping forward or backwards and always with your elbow on your side, otherwise you telegraph your jab too much and it won't be as quick and sharp. Great video though.
We use to do a clock 12 -1 -2 so on and attack with a 3' stick with a glove on the end and well you get the drift but that is a good one if your by yourself also catch a praying mantis and attack him from different angles with a small stick and study his defense very informative
Great idea but because you are so used to hitting the Padded bag with gloves you can’t hit a punching bag any more you have to slap it? May I suggest you jump the gloves and learn to clenched fist and punching a bag it’s a good way to strengthen the first and it also helps with I have your punch.
Yes it does. Just remember that when fighting vs an orthodox boxer and stepping around to your left you are in danger to the opponents right cross. My suggestion is to roll or slip into that position (left) instead of just stepping into it without moving your head.
It kind of looks like a switch to me,aren't you supposed to use your front foot for a switch?my boxing coach had told me to always switch with my front foot but to move right with right foot and move left with my left when circling around,it just confused me🤔

Well, you are always welcome to come try one of my group training sessions.
Coach I need to hire you
I've been working out on my heavy bag without gloves or wraps for 7 yrs
Thank you for the tutorial bro. Does that apply for Southpaws too? @Coach Eddie Loco
Yes it does. Just remember that when fighting vs an orthodox boxer and stepping around to your left you are in danger to the opponents right cross. My suggestion is to roll or slip into that position (left) instead of just stepping into it without moving your head.
I’ve never learned this before and have been training for a while
Not Everyone teaches this. A lot of trainers/coaches have their own version of what they believe "good footwork" is.
Vielen dank
perfect 😌👌
Thank you I need this for my lead boots
you don't step around a boxing/heavy bag, you strut.
Please do south paw
