New charred oak is a very deceptive, I don't like that marketing. It should say recharred oak or something like that.

You also have Glen Garioch Virgin Oak. Never tried it, but the Founder's Reserve and the 12 have very unique characters. Very savory.

I have never seen a Glen Garioch Virgin Oak - but thanks for the recommendation

    I
Would the Dewar's Scratched Cask be considered a "re-char"..? METHOD & MADNESS has a single grain finished in virgin Spanish Oak casks.
I got a bottle of the Glenmorangie Malaga Cask at Total Wine (750ml $90). Thanks for the recommendation..!!!

Glenmorangie only fills twice! no „third fill“ here; 😉

@@WhiskyJason1 often stated by Dr. Bill Lumsden in many Videos. And here: www.whisky.com/whisky-database/distilleries/details/glenmorangie.html (see Part "Warehouse") From 2010 on only used twice.

@@WhiskyJason1 so being a 14 year old, it could be that there are some older third Fill Casks in this one ;)
