I have eaten oatmeal my entire life, but not to access. Recently within the last year or two, I would eat cooked oatmeal and have a gag reflex which surprised me because I was not over eating it. Then I knew about overnight oats and started eating those and I can eat them Until the cows come home
i blend all my oats and it works like a charm having overnight oats, i simply can NOT eat them at all in unblended form lol. i use yogurt, home made nutella, collagen powder, frozen raspberries, coconut flakes - oh my god - i'm so filled up and it's so full of protein!
Ok- I immediately jumped up and got to work on the chicken soup. I didn’t have basil, but I had everything else- especially two chicken breast that desperately needed to be cooked! I also added a few large chunks of frozen broccoli because I only 1.5 carrots. I will comment later on how mine turned out. Love your videos!! Thank you!!
Another good thing to add to overnight oats in the morning is apple pie filling or any kind of pie filling replace the fresh berries with a flavored pie filling it is absolutely off the chart amazing
I dislike regular greek yogurt so I always buy the honey-flavored one, I find it's sweet enough that you can skip the honey altogether in overnight oats.
This video is awesome!! The rice, chick pea and broccoli casserole looked so, so delicious. The chicken fried rice looked very good as well and the soup gave chicken and dumpling vibes to me. Keep up the good works😌😌
@@LauraLegge I was just in Aldi's and they have little kid Aldi shopping carts that even has a thing to put a coin in and it looks like a miniature Aldi's grocery shopping check out and food and little mini children are all the shopping bags and actual Aldi labeled food it is so cute
@@lorisiedl8733 oh my goodness, that’s so funny that you say that because I took my son to ALDI today for milk and we found the little carts 🤩 They were SO cute that I just couldn’t resist and we took one home with us haha
Wow, you got such a great price on the cheese! You didn't mention having a coupon for it, so I assume that was the sale price, which is ironic because I bought Cabot cheeses at Publix a couple weeks ago, BOGO, coupons, and it was also $0.91 after all that, lol. Do you keep your maple syrup in the fridge? I bought some of the same Aldi brand, kept in my cupboard, and it grew mold! I was just reading an article yesterday about resistant starch, and how refrigerating rice (and potatoes/pasta) prior to eating them changes the structure of the carbs so it has a much lower impact on blood sugar. I'll have to remember to do that next time! I've never seen anyone use oats in a soup recipe, but I guess it makes sense as barley is common, but more expensive. So many great ideas here, thanks!
Thank you and you’re welcome! Yes the Cabot cheese was on sale at a great price! I keep my maple syrup in the fridge and it lasts quite a while in there. This was my first time trying oats in soup and I LOVED it! It’s a great way to thicken the soup and add extra fiber and protein 😋 I’m definitely going to try that again! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
I know the chickpea broccoli rice would be a side dish to my hubby even though it has protein in it. If I added enough chicken for him to see it, bam, it’s dinner 🤪
7 overnight oats total (I make 5 at a time for shelf life reasons), 5 servings of broccoli cheese and rice, 4 servings of fried rice, and 5 servings of soup 😄
Salmonella, Campylobacter and other harmful bacteria live on raw chicken. Washing or rinsing doesn't remove this risk, it worsens it by helping the bacteria spread. When you add water through washing or rinsing, you give these bacteria a way to travel throughout your kitchen. Fact …Google for your answer!
