don't tune ur bmw ❌
don't choose the wrong tune for ur bmw ✅
A simple downpipe/tune is great. I've only had issues when I started getting into aftermarket turbos, fueling, standalone fuel controllers and port injection, that kinda stuff. I'm an OEM+ kinda guy now. Less stress.
For real. Intake, DP, lowering springs and JB4 for me. Went JB4 simply for the fuel flexibility. Definitely an OEM+ set up. Nice to be able to relax and just enjoy the car.
OEM+ for a daily driver is the only way to go!!! Ran my N54 like that for 10 years and it was very reliable
The BMW sound to cover the swearing is the best.
N54 owner here, 909 miles a week on it. It’s been reliable as a rock. I def agree that once you start modding too high these cars don’t like it
I drive 40 miles everyday to work n54 2009 space grey metallic
@@user-qg8oj5nh6l unnecessarily commment
I roll 60ish miles a day on my n54 @ 156k. Stage 1 tune, dci, cp,bov. Love this car man. Excited to experience other bmw engines in the future
What mods do u have?
@@smedders3541 maintance up to date are my mods🤣

I see so many guys on RUclips and all these n54 Facebook groups always going balls to the wall constantly having issues. My car is an 08 e93.... and I didn't go nuts.....when I got the car I did all the required maintenance..... valve cover/ gasket.... I bought some used index12 injectors.... and got a set of eldor coils. Msd81 dme stage2+ with catless dps...vrsf 5in intercooler....vrsf charge pipe and dual cone filters... and of course colder ngk plugs. My car had a 140k on the clock still has the stock turbski's and other than a little wastegate rattle upon cold start my car has been pretty damn reliable...... only making 400hp but for me it's more than enough fun 💯
Enjoy the vids bud 😎
Yea bro same here I see it all the time. It gets complicated with 500hp plus. I’m full stock and it’s more than suffices
Ive got the exact same car as you and I've been thinking about mods. What did you start with?
same from 60k miles to 140k miles in 3 years with fbo but I got a beater I'm going balls to the wall with
So happy for you bro. I've had an '08 335XI coupe with the Coral Red interior and Logic7 system, that I DD'd for about 2 years and it just kept breaking on me. Paid too much at the time (2014) but it was a dream car for me since I was a kid (parents had many BMW's growing up and I spent many hours with my dad, learning about Bimmers and cars in general) and the interior had me drooling. I replaced the HPFP and valve cover gasket (separate repairs) and after the valve cover gasket it was still leaking oil. Brand new OE turbos were installed the week I bought the car, used with 134(?)k miles IIRC. She broke down on me as I was driving home from the dealer and it's been a money pit ever since, unfortunately. I repaired and replaced so many things, I feel as if she's almost brand new mechanically. It now has 174k and although it's close to mint condition cosmetically, the repairs were killing me, between the payment, trying to maintain my house and pay the mortgage (making $13 an hr at the time.) I only pay cash for anything now and a lot has changed for me. That car taught me a lot about budgeting and greed lol. Love the car but I kinda gave up and she's been paid for and in the garage the past 5 years. When I parked it (the day after the valve cover gasket repair) she was running insanely rough and I couldn't diagnose the issue myself so bought a cheaper DD and now the Bimmer just collects dust. I'm wondering if it's a VANOS issue but haven't had her towed to a shop for diagnosis. It ran good for about 5 mins but when warmed up it would almost stall just idling 🤷♂️... But boy, do I miss my old girl and the smiles she glued to my face when driving. I had nothing but reliability issues from the jump (I'm assuming due to poor previous owner vehicle maintenance as the records were few and far between) but she's a beautiful, fun driving beast that I'll hopefully get back on the road sometime soon. God bless, enjoy your ride and so glad you've had much better luck with reliability than I did!
E91. N52. Stock tune. Bilstein coils. Wheels and tires. Couldn't be happier.
N52 ftw
Facts my e90 330i and e83 n52 ftw baby
Wait you’re saying your N52 is stock but you have a Tune? What tune do you have?
@Wooster_ I see what u did there. Just stock..no tune.
@@jimmynickelz ah ok shit I read that wrong haha
Ayeee he’s back with consistent uploads 🙌🏽🙌🏽Keep up with the fire content!!
It’s always very satisfying to watch you find a solution to a frustrating problem.
Cool shop, thanks for the video.
The face he gave you with the melted cover question was literally my reaction 😂. You should’ve known to upgrade the VC with a turbo that close to plastic. This is just BMWs being BMWs 🫤
One day am going to owned a f30 335 like this but i just love this one
I would copy and paste each part when i have one love the videos bro keep it up 🔥
Stick to below 22PSI and these cars go forever with no issues as long as you look after the thing, preventative maintenance, keep on top of logs regularly to catch stuff before it goes bad. Soon as you start pushing over that PSI things start giving sh#t! I have been down this road so many times. Now I stick to MHD stage 1+ with direct water injection and the car is solid as a rock for years now. Every single time I push the thing with too much boost things start to fail, spark plugs, coils, hpfp, lpfp, Turbos blow way before their time etc.
Just because these cars are capable of making 700 - 1000hp doesn't mean they will last if they do, in fact every single youtuber who pushes these cars past the 650whp mark, start experiencing issues with the car or simply blowing the motors or turbos or both.
Just my 2c
Always loving the content.. hopefully I get a bmw one day
Yall got some clean whips😈
Thank you :)
Nice vid bro
Great video! What wrap is that on the f30? It's gorgeous 😍
Found the answer: Rainbow Drift Black Red
Hi, pls do a comparison video between the E90 335i and the F30 335i. We want to know if it’s worth it to upgrade from the E90 and if parts are more expensive. Is the drive better in the F30… 💪🏼
Bro I feel your pain, I got my 528i a couple months ago and I've just been spending and spending to keep fixing it, feel like selling it because I can't keep up with the costs to keep fixing it
528i isnt really a tuner friendly car. N54, n55, B58 those engines are the once to look for.
I feel this bro. I finally got my 335i running after like 2 weeks of straight trial and error. Came out in the end with a completely different looking engine bay lmao
Whos here before 1k?
Not me 😂
I was but at 1.8k
Danm braa ur engine bay on the E90 is stunning.sadly I live south Africa so one dollar is like 19.10 rands .so get my engine to look like yours .it's gonna be like buying a house literally
I am driving my F10 M5 for several years , with stock setup , except exhaust update to meistershaft exhaust for the extra rumbling kraken roar , never had any major issue till now expect wear and tear , I am fine with the stock power , just regular service , I always believe as long it’s stock , it will live longer as it meant to be
This is why we need more Volvo content on this channel.
Because the Volvo would hopefully not break at the same time as the BMWs and vise-versa.
With Volvo content i mean real Volvo content, none of the FOMCO, GM 4T65, DAF, Mitsubishi stuff, real, preferably older P2 (none Straight 6), P80, P900, P700, P200 kind of stuff.
Get something like a P2 T5 or P80 T5, alternatively something RWD like a Turbo 940, 740/780 (don’t get the PRV6),240.
The old easy to work on 8-Valve none interference “Red block engines” would be a refreshing change of pace for you, the Modular 5 cylinders are something special and really enjoyable.
I've got a 1989 740 turbo sedan on 15psi and it's a blast :)
Very nice ❤
Thumbnail goes hard 😂🔥
Bro. Ik your frustration! I bought a e90 335i that had a smoking issue, purchased the car 2022 & have dumped countless amount of money into getting it to stop smoking! 6 brand new index 12 injectors, valve stem seals, turbos, walnut blasted intake ports, vtt full pcv system & nothing fixed the issue! Car runs great & compression reads fine, but seems that the car might have some oil ring issues. So now the whole engine is going to be taken apart & completely rebuilding the bottom end with upgraded internals! Annoyed asf that till this day I have yet to drive the car after putting so much money into it but trust me, I can hear the frustration in your voice. Sigh.
It's tough! That said the day you get it right it'll somehow all feel worth it. That is if it continues to behave 😂
geez
you ever bother to check turbo seals? or monitor crankcase pressure on an oscilloscope with a pressure transducer? highly doubt if that is all good, it's your oil control rings, i have 184K miles and don't have a smoking issue.
did you check the high pressure fuel pump cause they will cause a longer cranking issue and fuel drops that your having
Not sure what fuel pump you have, but it may not have a built in check valve in it. W/O a check valve fuel will return back and pressure will always dip.
No check valve.
I have 2.5 stratus coupe with a 4g eclipse 6g75 mivec swap 7675 turbo, forged internals, evo 8 to v6 adapter plate and converted to awd using evo 8 5spd trans and dsm rear parts. I love the car but at 1380awhp. Its just not worth driving anymore cause parts break and are expensive. On the other hand I picked up a 2011 335i xdrive coupe 2 weeks ago and I love this darn thing already. I missed the days of care free driving and this car is perfect for daily use. It has enough power and is a handsome car. The ride quality is comfortable and I truly "understand the bmw experience" now. It really represents everything fun about driving for not much money. Very hard car to beat for the money.
Well. I just bought a tuned 128i. This will be fun :D
What tune and mods would y'all recommend for a M54B30?
(E60 530i)
I know the pain lol just found a lil bit of metal in my oil filter I guess it’s time for rod bearings on my n54 only 120k on it and I’ve had to replace damn near every sensor flange or housing unit LOL fun to drive tho.
HI BRU TELL ME:ARE WE ABLE TO GET THOSE VALVUE Cast Aluminum CoverS FOR N57--
Bmw can be unreliable and a headache but it's all worth it at the end it just needs the right hands epic work boys!
Man I know these headaches! Had a fueling issue where my JB4 was reading 60psi LPFP on idle and MHD was 72..when jb4 was engaged I would hit fuel cut, I replaced everything in the fuel system almost 2x over and low and behold it comes out to be the firmware was incorrect and I loaded the wrong one the entire time! 🤦🏾♂️
I had the same issue and a guy named Jake with motiv remoted into my laptop did something with reflex than boom problem fixed
EKPMS? I never got the fueling right before I windowed the block. V8HUNTR did a great video explaining the same problems we all have. Better off with an rb26 swap or something.
I just want like a 340i or 540i with a good wheel tire break suspension setup. Downpipe tune catback exhaust
Hi i purchased a ID4MOTION motion unit after watching you videos not from you but the the company. I run MHD like most with a 335i n54 the problem is that the id4motion does not support MHD map switching ive emailed id4motion with no reply. Im only one person could you ask if they can update so it works you might have more power. Thanks Tighe

That bmw chime 😂when there's a fked issue 😂I love my bmw issues awesome cars keep up the awesome content 🎉🎉🎉🎉I just got into this world in jan on 2024 328i I know the chime 😂I didn't realize the power in these cars so my next upgrade is getting into a 335i n54 and go from there this 328i n51 has been a learning experience curve for the for me and the fbos I can't get on this one 😂the chime lol 😂 but yeah now that I'm fully into this for sure the 335i 🎉2010
Didn't you think that putting a huuugggge turbo next to the engine manifold could possibly warp it 😞.
Has to be one of the DI injections or port injectors
Imagine what we OGs went through with e36 M3s. I still have my boosted built M3s. Nothing like boost in a light vehicle with hydraulic steering and a fun stick!
You should dyno the single f30 pleaseeee 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Well that is what I said in this video.
downpipe+tuned+exhuast+intake that all you need for engine wise and throw in alot of prevenative maintainence.
this is exactly how my car is sitting now and my exact plans are maintenance overhaul on everything
Even with a M54 E60?
Im setting up my return line now do u reccomend check valve on return line
That's what we did in this video. To be honest, not sure if it makes much of a difference.
I am really surprised that the turbo would melt a plastic valve cover.
Bro where did u get those taillights for the f30? I need themmmm
We sell them:

N55 here. Bought at 90k and tuned on mhd stage 2+ since.. now at 140k. Do your maintenance and listen to it when it talks to you and you’ll be fine 😅
F30 It sounds beautifull 😍❤️
Jesus I want that f30
Who’s here after already spending 1k?
I am spent 2 grand and thinking about going back to stock
beyond $10k but it is what it is lol
Jesus what’d you do
You should get a e92 on the channel, would be dope, since most of your subs came from e93
Get an N63tu-powered car! Like a 2016 750i or something for your next car. Would be pretty interesting considering they are very capable of power and are obviously very luxurious. Very affordable cars!
I've got a 2019 750i G12 with a BM3 Stage 1 and resonators removed. I won't go any deeper than that. With the tune, it's rocking close to 530hp, AWD, full leather, massage and cooled everything, screens, rear center console. Yea, she's fine just the way she is.
@@Coslin how reliable has it been so far?
I mod cars up to the point of not needed to change the stock internals and turbo. If I want more power than that, you get a car that has more power from factory.
BMW The ultimate driving machine
Maybe make a simple tune like a remap, downpipe and C.A.I.
If you wanna go wild, use an M series.
So at the end, the e90 had no problem. Just a wrong tune on the ReFlex ! Pretty reliable in fact !! 😄😄
Is a Downpipe and stage 1 really that bad? Or do you mean big ass turbo setups
Downpipe and stage 1 is 👍🏼
Lmao 8:41 busted out laughing looking at him 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Im like half way done with maintenance and definitely tunning after Im done and here goes this video 🤦.... Still gonna tune it 🤪
Yeah bro im about done with my n54 no crank no start issue
whats done to it?
FBO n52.. no problems here with 285,000 miles
f30 335 looks like 🔥
Comment to support the channel 😎
FYI: For every mod there's another issue. You should always mod with that in mind, and build to support the next mod.
it would me kinda cool to see this man get a b58 and mod it just as hard or even harder then the e90 and see how many less headaches he gets
I did with the Supra and it was 10x more reliable. But will get into another B58 soon
Don’t tune any vehicle unless you want a constant project.
🔥
tune has nothing to do with long starts it comes down to ur check valve failing at the fuel pump or u can add a seconday check valve closer to the fuel rail near the hpfp p.s. i didnt watch ur entire video lol
what tire sizes are u running om that e90
I need e92 pre lci headlights 😂
I mean, tbh alot of what you’re talking about would be true if any car, as far as issues, diagnosing problems etc. I don’t heat anything unique to the n54, esp if the car is modded.
Dude where is your shop based out of?
Orlando FL
She finna fly away 😳
I know all too well what you're going through. I've gotta '10 MINI R55 S. While it's not exactly a BMW, it's a BMW. My build isn't as crazy as yours (yet), it is an extensive one. Currently it's full bolt on with a slightly bigger Borg Warner Airwerks turbo, ported, polished and built head with cams, Cravenspeed short throw shifter, Clutch Master FX-400 clutch with aluminum flywheel and a bunch of other things. The car is still using its stock ECU with a stage 3 Malone Tune and pushing 20lbs of boost. When it's actually running right, the car is a blast. I've managed a 4.1 0-60 and about a 3 sec 60-120. I've pushed the car to its 165mph limit once but never again. My R55 build is the best car I've ever driven but the worst car I've ever owned. Never in my life have I ever owned a car that threw so many damn codes. There are codes for codes. Currently I have a passenger airbag light that won't go away and the tpi warning light has been on ever since I threw Sparcos on it. I've owned the car for 5 years and have been building it for 3. Since I started the build I've never driven it for more than a few months straight because it's always breaking. The whole build started when the timing chain started its death rattle. Since I was gonna have the engine apart I decided to go with a bigger turbo and it snowballed from there. I'm at the point when the car is running good, I can't enjoy driving it because I'm so afraid it's gonna break. That sucks because the car is an absolute beast around curves. The Gecko coilovers I put on it definitely do their job well. Right now, I'm not sure if I've spent more money fixing issues or on modifications. When I realized my stock turbo car didn't come with a stock boost gauge, I knew I was in for a hard time. One time I had to take the whole dash out just to fix an issue with a damn sensor that was keeping the car from starting. As much resentment I have for my car I still love it. It's a very unique build. I think I may be one of the only guys in Louisville, KY driving a tricked out MINI. I know I'm the only guy in town driving a tricked out Clubman. I've decided to keep my R55 S for good. I've got so much money, time, blood, sweat & tears in this car that getting rid of her would be complete lunacy. With my head prepped for the bottom end to be built, the next thing I do is gonna be internals. I don't wanna think about the issues I'm gonna run into when I start that.
Thats why i love my 35d Just remap and costum exaust get 400hp
What does tuning your own car have anything to do with this vid
That’s why you need a N52
Keeping my e90 bone stock after this 🫡

wow it's almost like having a huge turbo right by a bunch of plastic was a bad idea. Who would have thought
He shot that valve cover like a free throw 😂💀
I know nothing about cars but I’ve heard the horror stories on bmw’s and this video just proves it. 😭
So what you are saying is that BMW's are like the Z-28 Camaro's of the late 70's early 80's that you would see propped up on blocks in front of someone's yard all too often?
its because i was told the e60s actually have a stronger Lpfp from the factory
Bmw.. Break My Wallet 😂 I still love them though
You probably titled your video on purpose, but there is significant difference between TUNING and MODDING. The tune is not the problem.
W thumbnail 😭
