Master Roshi shows his philanthropist side a few times, like curing a werewolf after the moon got destroyed by Roshi's own hand... simply using Kurriran's/Krillian's shiny bald head and a bit of hypnotism.
It was nice to see the aftermath in the anime. The manga just left it at Nam saying goodbye to Roshi and the readers were left to assume that everything turned out well.
It's because people got to like DBZ that basically is a superhero series with muscle guys flying and shooting lasers, but original Dragon Ball which is a fairy tail about journey in the world of wonders doesn't look like that most of time
Never been so motivated to watch OG Dragon Ball until seeing this clip. I thought the show was all about villain of the week and power creeping up to infinity.
The original Dragon Ball is more of a comedy adventure series, which slowly develops elements of drama, I highly recommend it. The show is serialized, so it's best to watch the show from the beginning, however, if you'd like to know, the clips in this short are from episode 25 and episode 29.
Prime example of respecting the elders. Roshi didn't care about a fight, a tournament, or proving anything. He cared about others and focused on what's important and helping people.
Master roshi is honestly hands down the most respected db charecter in my eyes he tought our heros hes saved our beloved charecters hes given hope to the weak he fought when he seen everyone was hurt he proceds to suprize us all each time mans is hands down the honest most humble charecters in db mans needs more and more time
That's why OG Dragon Ball is my favourite... It's just magical and special... this was the first anime I watched, and it still is one of my favourite, even after 20 years after watching it for the first time
Some days ago a read through the entirety of dragon ball classic, that moment was touching. The most touching. Cause there are people with this problem in the real world. Master Roshi could have not cared, but he knew it, something that is nothing to you can be much for someone else.
Roshi taught a generation how to be stern and kind, how to except ppl from every walk of life and that of you put your mind to in even an average man can do extraordinary things!! Master Roshi will forever be the GOAT 🐐
Too bad most of people didn't know it Because they're just think everything is about Super Saiyan transformations and getting stronger to beat strong opponents In OG they give a story about side character and give them a screen time where we see who and why they're here I bet most of people didn't know Roshi once use Krillin bald head and make it look like a full moon to help werewolf guy become human again in tournament Or The fact that Yamcha accidentally squeezing Bulma chest because he thought it was Dragon Ball
Helping someone in their time of need with bo expectation of reward or being paid back, when you have something and someone has nothing is a great gift. Such wonderful lessons.
Master Roshi is a great man, despite his pervertedness. He made those who lost feel like winners too. He defeated Goku as Jackie Chun, but it fueled Goku's desire to keep getting stronger! A feeling he held to this very day, even so far into Dragonball Super.

Master Roshi saved literally thousands of peoples lives because of the capsule. Outside of being a complete perv, he is the greatest. EDIT: It's not that personal... you people didn't have to go all out on replies...
"Forget about it" Move well, study well, play well, eat well, rest well - That is the turtle master way. Master Roshi knows how to live, he have's knowledge of what's right and what's wrong, regonizes effort and knows what's capable of, and doesn't make the good thing to receive a "deserved" reward, but because it's the right thing to do, that's actualy shown by master way, by his studants, and by himself in moments such as that one. Not someone pure of heart, but more than can be noticed at first.
You act like he didn't travel to and from both regions. It can be done as many times as needed and he didn't have to resort to violence for his region to prosper.
Jackie Chun was such a nice guy. He even asked the man the simple favor of dressing like Roshi since he knew Goku, Krillin and Yamcha wanted him to be there.
It's illegal. There was a village that made it's own water mill and windmills and the government confiscated it all and made the people pay rent on the houses they made. There is no winning when it comes to the government. You are either for your country or against it. There is no middle ground. Roshi may have helped but whoever owned the water in nams country would have had him killed and the water stolen like the game sand land that just came out showed.
i understand the part where he opens it and the water just wastes, but when they bath- i mean he probably brought gallons of it and he can still go back for more
What master roshi did was commendable but looking at nam showing sincere gratitude was beautiful to see Also nam returning dino cup shows his greedless and good character.
I love these moments like this in DB or the Tournament of Power. He has a great character under all of the pervy jokes. Serious Roshi is the GOAT. That Final Kamehameha and Goku and Krillin thinking he died may be my favorite Roshi moment in the series. Goku and Krillin teared up, Goku sounded like a kid again in the Japanese version(its subtle, but Nozawa definitely pitched the voice up a little when she screamed), and Sean killed it in that scene too.

Nam actually put up a great fight and came close to knocking goku out twice
It was edited, those were different episodes. You actually find out that the reason the village was short on water was because another fighter at that tournament's people built a hot tub at the river mouth. Goku breaks the dam it and solves the water problem permanently.
Roshi will always be the goat
Know them by their fruit.
Master Roshi shows his philanthropist side a few times, like curing a werewolf after the moon got destroyed by Roshi's own hand... simply using Kurriran's/Krillian's shiny bald head and a bit of hypnotism.
literally most of the worst beings in the universe were defeated by one of his techniques
That is the best gifts he ever gave that guy😊
Dan Pena is actually being nice for a change.
This honestly helped me realize some people don't get what i take for granted in this world. Helped me grow as a kid.
It was nice to see the aftermath in the anime.
The manga just left it at Nam saying goodbye to Roshi and the readers were left to assume that everything turned out well.
This is the kind of filler I can get behind!
The moving oasis thing and dealing with those lizard guys and their GoGo gum?
Enough to make a grown man cry.
It's moments like this that make the original Dragonball so memorable. What a wholesome interaction. It's so good
Dragon Ball truly underrated. Most people talk about DBSuper or DBZ , but I rarely see convos about where it all started.
That's just sad
Obviusly the better dragón ball
It's because people got to like DBZ that basically is a superhero series with muscle guys flying and shooting lasers, but original Dragon Ball which is a fairy tail about journey in the world of wonders doesn't look like that most of time
EXACTLY!
Master Roshi is probably the most underrated character in dragon ball
*Grampa Gohan* But Roshi is underappreciated because lots of people started with Z when he is mostly irrelevant.
Underrated my ass
Cap
Blud forgot tien exist
Probably because most people's introduction to him is Z and he's basically a pervert before a wise old man.
"But would you win?
Nah, I'd bring water."
This was the first Dragonball episode I saw as a kid, never knew how much this show would mean to me as an adult.
And they say DB isn't the best anime.
Not only fights but it shows you life choices it shows you to be kind and never give up❤
Roshi also tried to coerce sexual favors from minors
@@Gemna157 the good ol'days

it's still not the best..just because you got teary eyes doesn't mean now it's best
@@Ash01010 db the goat
Prime example of respecting the elders. Roshi didn't care about a fight, a tournament, or proving anything.
He cared about others and focused on what's important and helping people.
CARTOONS TILL EARLY 2000s HAD THAT SPARK OF "LIFE" THAT EVEN THE BEST ANIMATION DOESNT MAKE YOU FEEL

Master Roshi, forever true and based
That's why OG Dragon Ball is my favourite...
Man OG Dragon Ball was nostalgia. Such a classic and legendary series. Rest in Eternal Peace and Rest in Power to Toriyama Sensei.. 🙏🏻🕊🌌
I grew up watching dragon ball and dragon ball z. To some degree Goku shown me how to be a good person.
Roshi taught a generation how to be stern and kind, how to except ppl from every walk of life and that of you put your mind to in even an average man can do extraordinary things!! Master Roshi will forever be the GOAT 🐐
Naam is very kind, respectful and honest person i saw in db
He's pure of heart and was able to ride nimbus as well
@@dannydohma6808 yes only pure hearted can ride on nimbus ❤️
Love the little side dialogues they added for him and other rarely used or forgotten characters in DBZ Kakarot
He was shown in the buu saga along with the other DB characters like eighter and penguin village and the native American chief
of course he is. Naam is a punjab
Og db is underrated
fr
Too bad most of people didn't know it
Because they're just think everything is about Super Saiyan transformations and getting stronger to beat strong opponents
In OG they give a story about side character and give them a screen time where we see who and why they're here
I bet most of people didn't know Roshi once use Krillin bald head and make it look like a full moon to help werewolf guy become human again in tournament
Or The fact that Yamcha accidentally squeezing Bulma chest because he thought it was Dragon Ball
Its ver well written than Dbs

These were the better days of dragon ball. Wasn’t just about power scaling and pride, but about learning and sharing and growing together.
This type of scene is exactly why master roshi was so amazing.
Let just forget him asking an underage Bulma to show him her underwear. I certainly didn’t.
@@nikogarcia201 character development
@nikogarcia201 I think she was 16 which in Japan is actually legal I believe
Og db has so many perverted scenes, but aside from those roshi was truly goated
Thats a fair play to the man who wants to bring the prizes for the people. Admirable act of kindness.
"how did you know im in great needed of water"
"You're bla-"
That days dragon ball was about helping respecting rather than just fighting
something that has been missing from today's animation🥺🥺🥺
Helping someone in their time of need with bo expectation of reward or being paid back, when you have something and someone has nothing is a great gift. Such wonderful lessons.
Honestly this is the type of stuff that makes OG dragonball my favorite.
Master Roshi is a great man, despite his pervertedness. He made those who lost feel like winners too. He defeated Goku as Jackie Chun, but it fueled Goku's desire to keep getting stronger! A feeling he held to this very day, even so far into Dragonball Super.
A feeling that often backfired horribly.
Roshi isn't pervert anymore
@@Thoralmir True... Goku put countless innocent lives at risk because of his desire to fight strong opponents... He needed a swift boot in the ass for it...
@@LeonidRemmel He still is a pervert, it's just that in Dragonball Super he learned how to control himself and not be such an animal. He doesn't turn feral, but he will dole out a compliment to a beautiful lady.
Puar and Oolong pretty much got the worst of it in Master Roshi's self-control training... Though it was Master Roshi who got his ass pummeled over it...
We all have a little Roshi in us 👀
One of the many things I've learned from dragon ball is to be kind and treat people with respect and kindness and help those people less fortunate than your self R I.P. Akira Toriyama thank you for everything.
Master Roshi is truly a real marital arts teacher he cares about his students and the world around him and does what he can when he can
👍
“how did you know i need water”
oh i just had a strange feeling when i saw you
Master Roshi saved literally thousands of peoples lives because of the capsule.
Outside of being a complete perv, he is the greatest.

Move well, study well, play well, eat well, rest well - That is the turtle master way.
Dragon Ball showed so much of the world outside of just the core team. DBZ needed this
“Hahah guys now that we have this water we’ve been thirsting for let’s take a bath!”
"Yes I got water, a very valuable and scarce resource that our survival depends on" then proceeds to start dumping it all out on the ground. 😂
Thus plants and animals alike rejoiced
Well now that he’s got a capsule and knows water’s abundant in other regions it just means he’s gotta make a trip every time they’re running short.
Bro never learned about crops 💀
You act like he didn't travel to and from both regions. It can be done as many times as needed and he didn't have to resort to violence for his region to prosper.
@skankhunt..42 you gotta admit it's crazy he knows about dyno caps but not that water isn't scarce everywhere
Man, old dragon ball had such an down to earth innocence to it at times that I just miss
Whoever pick this music to go with this scene is pure genius it fit it so well I mean so great
"Maybe you shouldn't build a village in the fuckin desert."

This and the native dad and son are some of the most heart warming arcs from dragon ball
Upa and Bora ❤
Saw this when i was a kid... made me cry. Roshi saved Nam and his people. Sometimes kindness goes a LONG way. ❤
Jackie Chun was such a nice guy. He even asked the man the simple favor of dressing like Roshi since he knew Goku, Krillin and Yamcha wanted him to be there.
I'm holding back tears this was exactly what I needed right now
If only people in real life were that nice to each other everything would be so much better for everyone
Depends where you live, lots are good in better areas
They immediately start wasting water😂😂😂
True but Nam could just get more with the capsule.
bathing is wasting water?
@@itachu. it is when thirst is in question for a whole village
😂😂😂
i understand the part where he opens it and the water just wastes, but when they bath- i mean he probably brought gallons of it and he can still go back for more
RIP Akira, you gave us a masterpiece.
This pulls at the emotional strings 🥹🥹 Master Roshi will forever be the greatest ❤❤❤❤❤
This is whats missing with animes today, stories with a touch of realism and good writing.
What master roshi did was commendable but looking at nam showing sincere gratitude was beautiful to see
Also nam returning dino cup shows his greedless and good character.
I believe it's called a dynocap. It just sounds weird because he has a thick accent
Master Roshi... He is a perv at times but he is kind and he was Goku's teacher... And master...
I always love when characters get actual interactions outside of “ME HORNY”
i love those Kid-Goku era. it more about the people and the world with Martial Arts as Chi blast and flying is extremely rare sight
Yeah
I love these moments like this in DB or the Tournament of Power. He has a great character under all of the pervy jokes. Serious Roshi is the GOAT. That Final Kamehameha and Goku and Krillin thinking he died may be my favorite Roshi moment in the series. Goku and Krillin teared up, Goku sounded like a kid again in the Japanese version(its subtle, but Nozawa definitely pitched the voice up a little when she screamed), and Sean killed it in that scene too.
3 likes for a whole chapter book is crazy
This is what made the kid story so wholesome, it was about helping individual communities. Sometimes that also included punching people
I give props to Nam. I imagine he spent hours at that well getting all that water for his village.
And they say dragon ball is just for kids, the level of emotions this series holds is immeasurable
