Hyundai's Bose systems face a common issue - their floor speakers are directed downwards to produce more bass. However, this isn't ideal as floor speakers shouldn't be producing excessive bass or mid-bass; those should be reserved for the subwoofer. The sub should handle all the lows, and the mids shouldn't interfere with it. For a great audio experience, highs should be bright and warm, resembling a live concert. Unfortunately, most car audio systems don't achieve this. Therefore, the best solution is to opt for aftermarket speakers. To find the right speakers for your car, visit an audio shop (avoid Best Buy) and listen to different options, such as Focals, and compare them to your car's audio system. You'll be amazed by the difference. However, if your car's speakers are facing downwards like Hyundai's, no matter which speakers you install, the audio quality will remain poor. You may need to change the speaker position, and your audio installer can assist you with that.

Yeah, HK and Kia dropped the ball tuning this one compared to the previous generation. The highs, mids and front staging is good, but the mid-bass like you said is hollow and really front biased. You can't tell there's a sub in the back and it so irritates me that the low end frequencies just drop off on certain songs at higher volumes. First will be the sub since I have so many sitting around the house. Will post when it is done.
Considering the ample trunk space, it's possible to fit 1-2 subs. For optimal performance, I suggest installing a 12-inch sub, or two if your music taste demands it. If you prefer EDM, one sub should suffice, and you can enjoy it at moderate volume. For the best results, I recommend using a Diamond sub with a Diamond-powered amp. Additionally, a DSP amp from AudioControl can enhance the sound quality, producing crisp highs, warm mids, and powerful lows. The entire system would provide around 2500-3000 watts of pure audio. You can further improve the sound by adding some sound deadening material. Please note that while the sub or DSP amps are reasonably priced, the Diamond amp can be quite expensive. For instance, the HEX-5 Channel 1200W RMS Full Range amp costs $1029.99, and you might need an additional amp to drive the sound of your speakers. However, the results are worth the investment.
I had 2 cars that support android auto and apple car play and never used it once. Most of my music is on a USB stick which just plugs in and anything on the phone is played through Bluetooth anyway while controlled with car controls, phone is through Bluetooth and voice dialing as well, navigation is built into the car and the car being reviewed as well so I do not see the point to mirror your phone screen on the car's screen?! Just put the phone into the inductive tray and forget it!
I've noticed in other Kia Sportage videos that it comes with USB B and your came with an A. What is the difference and can you connect your iPod touch or a USB to USB type B?
I actually own this car with this audio. Not extremely impressed with the bass performance of the system. The bass should be in the back and it’s not. Furthermore the front tweeters sit to low in the a pillars to be crisp. Tweeters are completely missing for back seat passengers. Lastly the equalizer is not an equalizer at all but just your basic set up with little or no personal choices to be made. I had a Rav4 with a JBL set up that was more convincing. I acquired the HK audio upgrade as part of a package. If you can decide to take it as a single option, don’t do it. Save your money and spent it with an in car audio specialist.

I found the system to lack brightness and the mids are muffled
They should come with Bose speakers sound systems like their brother Hyundai Tucson
What is the mpg in petrol+electric mode
Kia says it's 79mpge
That is for the plug in hybrid you get the first 32 miles done fill electric then it is 38 mpg
Do cars not come with CD players anymore? I have a huge CD collection and I still listen to them because the quality is much better than an MP3.
Rip them in flac or alac
CDs? Hey whoa there, Indiana Jones!!

The sound is awful in our 2023 Sportage Hybrid SX Prestige. No bass at all.
this is helpful, i was about to buy one lol
It isnt all about sound..@@KB-vo8xn
I have the Canadian SX PHEV and can confirm the presence of moderate bass. @@KB-vo8xn
HP should be 227, not 277.
Is that the Hybrid
My 23 sx prestige off different color interior and has heard shift not the twist knob
Pretty sure he's in a Hybrid. I have the X Pro (not X Pro Prestige) and I have a shifter, not buttons, and I don't have that god awful red interior, mine is all charcoal grey.
What’s the name of this music played in 13:50? thanks~
KIA ARE CLOWNS! How do you not have wireless CP or AA on the higher trims? WTF
So what if kia makes cp or aa wired least they have it.
@@EshaanR shut up Apu
It's said to be part of the contract with TomTom, who provides the navigation software.
Man, this car would be pretty fitting for me if not for the lame audio system. I'm an audio engineer by trade and I think it'd just be too annoying to deal with.
Totally. If you care about audio in this segment, CX-5 is one of your best bets.
@@DailyMotor definitely! I’m actually in a ‘22 CX-5 with the Bose currently. Audio wise, very happy with it! That fuel economy tho 🥲
@@NickMcC Gotta pay to play! Mazda is coming out with a PHEV CX-90 soon, maybe that tech will come into CX-5 soon.
Impianto audio nella versione GT LINE PLUS è stata una grande delusione.
I'm definitely not an audio fall but I have a decent set of ears on me and I found the factory audio systems in the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe and the 2022 Kia Sportage to be very nice. Certainly no reason to jump to a higher trim for a Harman or Bose audio system.
Thank you for this. Was really trying to decipher between ex and SX .
That’s sucks for this model doesn’t have apple and android auto car play.
It has it, it's just wired, not wireless. For the amount of tech this car has, it was a real surprise to me when I realized it wasn't wireless.
I have this car and trim honestly the sound system isn’t good at all.
Compared to… ?
Yeah….compared to what? Your comment is hollow at best.

My 2001 Mustang's Mach 1 sound system is miles better than the one in my Sportage.
I have the sx prestige and the audio left me a lot to be desired to be premium, you can't hear anything good, the basses are very poor and I have it at its maximum, very bad audio Harman Kardon
Bru clean your windshield. I keep trying to spit on my thumb and clean my monitor.
Test the bass.. and listen to the least bassiest music.. yeah great test NOT
Hyundai/Kia makes beautiful cars these days but they have serious design flaws with their engine designs. If you want to keep you cars long term do not go for Hyundai/Kias.
Commentaire absurde, Kia fait partie des marques les plus fiables, et il y a 7 ans de garantie...
Simply untrue after the 2017 era.
@@EricMalette lol
@@asianstud7 "LOL?" Across the board Kia has closed the reliability gap with pretty much every established manufacturer. I don't know what else to tell you. You roll the dice with any car you buy.
@@EricMalette that is true. you do roll the dice. but odds are still in your favor with a Toyota vs a Kia or Hyundai. believe me that it hurts me to say that. as i wanna buy kias as they are fantastic looking cars and would love to own one. and I'm Korean btw. so it hurts me even more to say that. 😂😂😂
This is the only review that is positive on the sound system. How much did Kia pay you lol. It’s the worst I have ever heard and the bass is non existent. Harmon Kardon is rubbish apparently
Umm poor video
