a Japanese car purist here. every time I see Hyundai/kia/genesis come out with style, tech, and a class leading warranty, it makes me want a Korean car more and more. scotty should be scared now.

I love the all-black editions that Kia and Hyundai offer on some of their models. Looks really good. Good noise insulation too! The moment you closed the door the background music almost disappeared.
@ it’s just fine. I generally prefer a three-spoke design and the off-centred Kia logo is what really doesn’t do it for me. I get the concept but just not a fan of asymmetrical designs lol.
Firstly, many thanks for the video! I must say that pre-facelift looks better. The matte interior is great but it looks pretty cheap now thanks to different shades of grey and ugly steering wheel. Sadly, there are still some bulbs instead of LEDs - glovebox, sun visor and license plate. Also adding lock button next to the close button on the trunk door would be nice. Head-up display is finally there? And what is current palette of colors? Is there any vibrant color?

Definitely worth checking out. For many years I struggle to see the differences between related Hyundai and Kia models. For some time it seemed like Kia is the cheaper version but it's annoying that it's not clear. I think the facelifted Tucson has some weaknesses (particularly those ridiculously low bulb-based rear turn signals) and this Sportage not only avoids those weaknesses but I like quite a few things on first sight. Buttons BUTTONS BUTTONS!!! Love them. The central display with shortcuts (HOME MAP SEARCH...) is also very nice, kinda retro chic. I also love the rear seats. They seem to recline quite a lot and they may be good for an odd nap once in a while when you may find yourself in a situation where you dearly need it. I was hoping to see rolling blinders integrated in the rear windows. Maybe there's a trim level with those. The glossy black exterior styles are horrible, including those superfugly black wheels. BLEAH. Hope there are alternatives.

Only thing I regret is that I do not live in Korea but in EU, you get it for 25k euro I won't get it for 50k euro short wheelbase, what a time to be alive honestly! So I got myself Qashqai which is a joke, because korean cars used to be the cheaper ones, not japanese.
I was wondering if to wait for this facelift model - in the end I got a Tucson facelift in N Line S trim. However, I will still go and see this car when it arrives in the U.K.
I love the innovation with Hyundai and Kia cars. The facelifts not so much because it makes me feel like it's better to lease Hyundais and Kias to keep up with the new designs. The Sportage last face lift was just 3 years ago😢
I have the current generation Sportage (short wheelbase version - UK). Have to say visually apart from a few minor updates it looks predominantly similar to the current version. Probably a couple of extra tech bells and whistles obviously. Personally I’m not sure on the front end, looks boxy and a bit dull. Not sure I’m digging the slightly redesigned steering wheel either. I get they’re trying to match the design language to their EV models but for me they should have transferred the wheel design from The EV6 which looks much more appealing in my opinion. Still, minor design preferences aside I’m sure it will be a fantastic car. The current model is a joy to drive and if they’ve managed to improve on that, The new Sportage will definitely be another massive hit for Kia.
That doesn’t look very nice. Was hoping it would look more like Sorento. This looks more like the Hyundai creta in Indonesia. A bit disappointed. Kinda expected this look. Was one of the leaked image I saw. Weird they went with this. If they separated the grille with the lights like the carnival, sorento and telluride would have been nicer.

I heard somewhere that it might be part of a mid-year update to the Sportage in 2025 (is that even something that happens?) I am interested in buying a Sportage plug-in hybrid but Wireless Apple CarPlay is the only thing holding me back at this time. Thank you!
Wireless AA & CarPlay is already available here in Korea, meaning the car and tech is more than capable of doing so. It must be the govt regulation or some kind of test that Hyundai/Kia USA has to go through perhaps. Fingers crossed, it will arrive soon!

You cannot turn it off at all? With other cars you can turn it off but some you need to turn off once in settings and it will not reset each time you switch off car and other cars you need to turn off each time you start the car. Many people do not like this eye sensor feature.
It typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲 So what you see on the Kia website is what you will get for your market.
oh, headlights Sportage, why do they experiment so much, really don't know if I like it and when non facelift Sportage was driving on highway behind me / next it was really annoying
Kia has some of the best looking vehicles at it’s price point. One thing I truly don’t understand is why they do not add LED lights to the license plate on the trunk. This always baffled me because it’s such an easy fix and makes the car look much classier, versus the halogen lighting.
I'v e been waiting for this facelift for couple of months. I'll buy it if they have fixed wind noise. I really hope the HEV version will come to Sweden and it will have double laminated glass. I'm still disappointed about ugly plastics in the back of the front seats and lack of the real keyless system like in Mazdas. Btw the front reminds me of Volvo Polestar and I like it :-)
It always has been a long wheelbase model for domestic market, Korea, where I am located. If your market got a short wheelbase, it could still be the same. Double check with your local dealership.

As a current Sportage owner I do not like the looks of this lift. It is not koherent with overall design of the body. I have bought the sportage because it was more attractive in the outside and inside than Tucson but after the lift it is other way around.
@CarSceneKorea Sorento on the other hand looks gorgeous after lift. I think the problem here is overall body shape in conjunction with the new styling.
I like what Kia has done with the head and daylights on this model update. I definitely think it looks better than the front end design of the K3 and K4, while looking also different from Cadillac’s vertical headlights which some people believe Kia copied. The front end on the Sportage looks less like tiger fangs. Good job here!

The usual mess up with Korean facelifts trying to put a front of completely different car design to the older model. It must me a marketing move for ppl to buy the next model when it comes out. Previous model is so much cohesive and better looking.

It is sad to see the boomerang front LED's go away. Those really gave the Sportage a unique character. Now they just look like a smaller Sorento.

You can't. It's infrared hence invisible to human eyes.
You cannot turn it off at all? With other cars you can turn it off but some you need to turn off once in settings and it will not reset each time you switch off car and other cars you need to turn off each time you start the car. Many people do not like this eye sensor feature.

Where is the urea cap located now on the new facelifted sportage? It's not beside the petrol cap anymore as seen from this clip.
There is no more diesel for this Sportage PE model.

It’s been a while Korean spec models did not get spare tires, but only puncture kit. You might get a spare tire depending on your market.

oh, headlights Sportage, why do they experiment so much, really don't know if I like it and when non facelift Sportage was driving on highway behind me / next it was really annoying
Kia has some of the best looking vehicles at it’s price point. One thing I truly don’t understand is why they do not add LED lights to the license plate on the trunk. This always baffled me because it’s such an easy fix and makes the car look much classier, versus the halogen lighting.
I'm with you on that. Good that it's just an easy swap DIY material though.
I own pre facelift Sportage. I prefer current exterior design rather than new one. And the new steering wheel design is a joke 😅

Nothing wrong with the new design. It is not bad but lack of unique because Kia start to has same front design for every new cars.

I'v e been waiting for this facelift for couple of months. I'll buy it if they have fixed wind noise. I really hope the HEV version will come to Sweden and it will have double laminated glass. I'm still disappointed about ugly plastics in the back of the front seats and lack of the real keyless system like in Mazdas. Btw the front reminds me of Volvo Polestar and I like it :-)

The interior is way better than the current Sportage. It will arrive in the US next year as a 2026 MY and have a pricing coming at $30,000
The current version of the Sportage is prettier than this facelift. And the steering wheel is also a drawback.

It always has been a long wheelbase model for domestic market, Korea, where I am located. If your market got a short wheelbase, it could still be the same. Double check with your local dealership.

As a current Sportage owner I do not like the looks of this lift. It is not koherent with overall design of the body. I have bought the sportage because it was more attractive in the outside and inside than Tucson but after the lift it is other way around.

@CarSceneKorea Sorento on the other hand looks gorgeous after lift. I think the problem here is overall body shape in conjunction with the new styling.
I like what Kia has done with the head and daylights on this model update. I definitely think it looks better than the front end design of the K3 and K4, while looking also different from Cadillac’s vertical headlights which some people believe Kia copied. The front end on the Sportage looks less like tiger fangs. Good job here!

The usual mess up with Korean facelifts trying to put a front of completely different car design to the older model. It must me a marketing move for ppl to buy the next model when it comes out. Previous model is so much cohesive and better looking.
