My 2023 GT Manual has wireless CarPlay. Two large speaker grills on the rear parcel shelf are evidently for looks only. The sound is concentrated up front to a fault. It sounds good but doesn’t surround you or your passengers. Would be better if the rear parcel shelf speakers were there and added to the experience. But all that said, I love driving this car! It looks great and feels solid.
Didn’t really know what it meant to have wireless CarPlay. I was referring to the ability to listen to music, etc from your phone without plugging in. I guess I don’t see the need to mirror my phone’s Home Screen on the car’s display. Never mind.
Super clear audio…. But i feel like it just doesnt get loud enough\bass doesnt hit to hard if you really want to push it. Im a metalhead, i like to feel the kickdrum😀
@@stiffzombie1537I've been messing with a bunch. 5 T, 3 M, 7 B. That seems like a pretty good combo as well. I'm going to try the one you suggested next
I have a 2022 forte GT with this system. I think the fidelity and clarity are good but it just doesn’t seem very powerful. Some songs just don’t hit as hard is I’d expect without turning the volume to to 45-50 Also , it’s Harmon Kardon, not Harmon Hardon
I found it good enough but my only issue is that you have to turn the volume almost all the way up to have a good hearing experience. Especially when driving on the highway. Seems like it isn’t loud enough. I had a harman kardon system in my old mercedes cla and that was so much louder and it engulfed you with its surround sound system.
Yea I think with old stuff things are much better my older audi had bose and man was it perfect I blew the front ones lol and put some Alpines in. I had a chance to sit in the Gt line yesterday and I know it doesn't have the Harmon kardon but I know it still won't be as good I just purchased a Gt and waiting on it I will likely just upgrade the speakers and put a sub
@@nutrl6955 I use apple carplay and there’s settings to raise the volume for the music and navigation and all the other things that come through carplay. But you cant do it with bluetooth and the normal fm stereo. Like I said it sounds good you just need to raise the volume pretty high if you like to be surrounded by the music.
I think the difference is that in Kia you’re going to get much less sound dampening in the doors and other parts of the body compared to a Mercedes, which is why you’ll have to turn up your audio to hear bass notes, mids, etc in an attempt to drown out the wind. You can purchase some sound deadening tapes/squares online which should help with this.
@@nicholasgood3522 Late to the party, but I did this in my 2007 Lincoln MKX and it made a nice difference. While it has a decent bump to the base system (I don’t have the THX audio), this provided better low-end. While it was already pretty mute on the interior from Ford’s cheap pad deadening, this made it just a little more quiet-but still noticeable. I’m considering a Forte GT or a K4 GT-Line Turbo (more so Forte cause I can get that with a manual). Anyone here having good experiences so far?
I’m assuming this system is amplified; does anybody know what the RMS is on the amp, as well as the sub? I’m curious about the speaker sizes as well, are they similar to those of the first Gen Elantra GT (6.5 woofer + 0.70” tweeter component, 6.5 co-ax in the back) ?
I just got this car not even a month ago. Love the car but my sound system does not sound good what so ever. I have tried everything to fix it. What happenes is when i play any song i can hear a high pitch frequency noise. I have tried diffrent phones and changes every setting in my car. The only thing i have not done yet is take it to the dealer ship. Was wondering before i do so if anyone has been having this issue and knows how to fix it.
only if it has the smaller (8") screen - apparently, any of the Kia/Hyundai systems with 10.25" and larger won't support wireless AA or Car Play. Several companies make adapter boxes (usually about $100) to covert to wireless but they are slow to boot and are really just a wired device that passes the AA / Car Play through....
I've owned a 24 Forte GT for a little over a month now, and I am extremely disappointed with the HK sound system. Lackluster and road noise will absolutely drown it out. I have to turn it up to well over 50 to hear it properly. I love the car, but the "premium" sound system is a bit of stretch.
The sad thing is we can't really tell how the sound system sounds unless your in person I can't wait to experience it in person my self but good video explaining everything
I had a brand new 2020 civic SI with the premium sound. Not even close to my 2022 Forte GT manual with the Harmon kardon! Take the factory subwoofer out, 2 8 inch subwoofers will fit in the back deck. Now you have some bass in stereo.
@@bim1376 We'll that's good because the 2020 barely had entry level sound quality! I know because I drove one off of the showroom floor [Rusy Wallis, Dallas Texas]

This is definitely an A - Tier system in my opinion. Everybody hears sound differently subjectively but I'm going to have to Disagree with The B tier rating you gave this system, respectfully.
it's objectively not an A-, least not by his standards lmfao, impossible for it to be A. at BEDT this is a B-, more likely a C+ which is good considering the IMMENSE value you get with this vehicle.
@@roboticvenom1935 Well again, that's completely your opinion my guy. I've had the pleasure of listening to some of the higher end 12 speaker or 16 speaker systems on other More luxurious models. To me they were very well done but for me, just a little too over the top. The Forte is a solid A for me because it fits just right. Again, everybody hears sound differently so it's an A from me. 👍🏻
We have a Volvo Xc60 with the Bowers & Wilkin sound system Daily motors gave an S tier rating for the sound system. Just recently we also acquired a 2023 Forte GT with the GT2 Package and Honestly, I prefer the "B" Tier Harmon Kardon system to "S" Bowers & Wilkins. To me the Kia just sounds more clear in the highs and mids. It's definitely an A+ in my opinion. Your right though, ears are unique!
That damn infotainment screen is hideous theme and size is good but they could make it way sleeker. I'd love to see the negative space between gauges filled with a screen personally maybe better ambient lighting the buttons illuminate white would be dope as well. I think the stereo is great maybe needs a powered sub to add some low end
Thanks for showing the infotainment and sound system. There aren't many people showing those off. Keep up the good work!
Better than I was expecting! Props to Kia for making quality yet affordable sound systems.

Seriously thinking about this exact same model. Does the 23 manual also have Harman sound system?
How does your system have wireless CarPlay? I thought the 10.25in display only offered wired carplay
